Bad Moms (2016)
Sinking lower and lower
The creators' idea of this comedy film is that if the dialogue uses a lot of f*ck & sh*t words, interspersing it with d*ck and (was it planned as a nice diversion from tried path?) vagina then it will be taken as funny. No luck for them poor souls, jokes don't come out that easy - what a surprise for 'Bad Moms' crew. I am at a loss of words to describe this drivel. There is no script to speak of nor a hint of any meaningful message. There are no funny moments, you only feel very awkward that this could have appeared on the widescreen. Acting is atrocious. I had my serious doubts about acting skills of Mrs Kunis after Book of Eli and especially Jupiter Ascending and this confirms low expectations. I can stretch my imagination to see if 'Bad Moms' can appeal as some sort of fantasy adventure entertainment for some people but as a work of comedy or god forbid cinema art 'Bad Moms' is setting new standards of low. Totally not recommended for viewing.
The Ten (2007)
Mindless Drivel
This IMO was created as a comedy showing how life plays us all as pawns and there is always at least two side of a story and so on. Or may be the intention was just a politically incorrect funny movie. Well what they did was something dim and unfunny. Waste of film if it was shot on celluloid which I doubt. Waste of good acting talent: there were a few good actors in it, hopefully they've got paid. I think the writers and the director had no idea how to make a movie and thought that may be a comedy is a bit easier to do then anything else. They failed and the '10 commandments' are miserable sketches having nothing to do with humour or any food for thought. I don't know what is worse, that or ceaseless flow of CGI-effects instead of content we see in 2010-s. Probably 'The ten' is worse because it pretends to be a comedy and deceives the viewer. Do not watch this movie. No entertainment value, no any other value at all in it.
CSI: Cyber (2015)
To be avoided
I have enjoyed the original CSI series especially in its first 4 seasons and the ones with Fishburne were also high quality entertainment though somewhat with limited appeal, for an audience interested in criminalistics. With Danson the entertainment value dropped significantly but it is still there. The producers were making hints (even a whole episode) in the main CSI series about the new Cyber Crime Investigations. Good, thought I, may be it would appeal for wider audience and push the idea out of stalling it has found itself in. Well the pilot of CSI Cyber made me wonder. I only can concur with most reviews here. This is the utmost drivel, boring, mediocre, uninspired. Everything - script, acting, camera-work, special effects - looks and feel dull, cheesy and so second-hand, worn to holes. I am amazed that they aired another 4 episodes of this junk which belongs to the litter bin.
Bachelor Party Vegas (2006)
Amazing mediocrity and not a hint of funny
Of course I already had the bar quite low for this movie, expecting a good crude humour comedy, may be even a bad crude humour comedy but still enjoyable. Why? I like Kal Penn and the Harold and Kumar movies, I even liked Hangover, so in a streak of retrospect to Hangover and respect to Kal Penn I decided to rent this DVD in 2014. I regretted I did it. I never imagined that such senseless script could exist. Hopeless zero talented directing to boot as well. Kal Penn wouldn't have helped his movie even if he was a living deity of acting. The stop button took action in about 15 minutes from the start of Bachelor Party Vegas. You've been warned. Stay away from this junk even if you like below the waist humour and Kal Penn.
Sherlock Holmes (2009)
Nothing but rehashed Vidocq
A feel of deja vu and very familiar visual language has haunted me from the very beginning of Guy Ritchie's Sh. H. And lo! This is your Vidocq http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0164961/ re-made for easier watching and general entertainment feel. A chunk of stale rye bread pureed with water for recycling by lowest denominator. Why make some sort of a comic-book-shot-on-film-stock junk out from an amazing material is beyond comprehension. In a sense this movie is mildly entertaining. You don't believe a second that's the happenings on the screen have a remotest connection to life in England or elsewhere on this planet. It's like Readers digest for someone who has great difficulties getting words out of letters. Kids stuff without any meaningful content. I have nothing against that, but Why Oh Why they named it Sherlock Holmes. Poor Arthur. They robbed you...
