Ben-Hur (2016)
How hard can it be?
How hard can it be to at least stick a little to the story? Hollywood seems to have huge issues these days, making remakes, but leaving the story out. If a story is good, you don't need to go all out to change it, you could at least use it to make a great movie, even a great remake. This isn't a great remake, this isn't Ben Hur, just another Hollywood corruption of something that is good. Shame, since the story of Ben Hur is awesome.... this movie is not.
Now, if this was not related to the story of Ben Hur, this would have been an okay movie, but since they've called it Ben Hur, it should have at least stuck to the story a little. As with so many great stories and books, they've turned this into another waste of time.
Exodus: Gods and Kings (2014)
Noah was bad..... this is even worse.
There's a clear trend in Hollywood these days, discredit and distort all of the great stories in the Bible. Tell them the way you want them to be, not the way they are written down.
Exodus: Gods and Kings is the latest effort in this quest. Noah was pretty bad, but this is even worse. What's wrong with these directors in Hollywood? Can't they just stick to the story, which is great in itself? It's very obvious that whoever wrote the script for this movie has no respect for God at all and doesn't even understand the concept of God. Which fool would even follow the god displayed in this movie? Seriously.... God displayed as an annoying, proud brat... a mean and creepy looking child? Wow.... I just wish they left the whole word exodus out of the title and changed the characters names, since this movie has nothing today with the story in Exodus at all.
On top of that, the cast is just wrong and there's something wrong about all of the characters. Moses (contrary to the real one) tries to play the hero, but utterly fails. Farao is such a wimp that they would have replaced him (to put it nicely) ages ago. I'm not even going to mention the rest of the badly chosen actors and characters.
A complete waste of time, I just can't believe people even are willing to see this kind a junk..... they should all ask their money back.
Noah (2014)
Awful and deceptive
The only thing that the real history of Noah and this movie have in common is the name. 2 of Noah's sons are boys without wives now? Who even thinks of and makes such crap? The Noah portrayed here is not a righteous man, but a mad man.
This movie is a clear sign of our times. It shows that God is harsh an evil and hates mankind, while the fallen evil beings are good and love mankind. That's the lie Satan wants everyone to believe, so he can eventually rule the world.
Call what good is evil and what evil is good, just as the Bible predicts man will do in the end of times and this movie perfectly does that. Turning the righteous into evil madman and those who are evil into good persons and beings.
The sad thing is that people will believe this is how it all happened while this movie could not be further from the truth then it is.
Snow White and the Huntsman (2012)
Isn't snow white supposed to by pretty and innocent?
I don't think the movie was bad at all, it just had one major flaw being snow white herself. Seriously, is that the best they could do? The queen is way more beautiful then snow white it. There is something very wrong with snow white. We are supposed to love her, being stunned by her inner and outer beauty. But we're not. The queen is stunning, snow white is only so so. She has no outer beauty. I did not like her either, there's something which makes me dislike here.... a lot. As for inner beauty, again, not there. Somehiw you get the feeling that there is something, dark and sinister about this snow white. She sure isn't the innocent character we expect to be.
While most character are chosen very good, the main character destroys the whole movie.... wrong choice.
Jeonseolui joomeok (2013)
Great movie!
If you can get a copy with subtitles in your own language, then this movie is worth watching. It's not the usual fighting tournament movie. The movie follows a number of contestants and shows how good they used to be when younger and what they've become now that they're in their 40's. Some have lost all of their skills, but some have retained them and are still good martial art fighters.
The movie has a great build up, some good laughs, some (typical Asian) drama, but that doesn't distract at all. Overall the portrayal of the main characters and supporting characters is very well done.
This is a very enjoyable fight movie, with a good plot and some interesting surprises. Before I knew it the movie was over, it kept my attention all the time even though it's a long movie. I'm sure I'm going to watch again in time to come.
The Man with the Iron Fists (2012)
Crap, nothing less, nothing more.
This was terrible, horrible, complete crap. What a waste of time. I'm not a fan of Quentin Tarantino at all, I avoid his movies, but I didn't realize he was involved with this one. If I had known that, I would not even have watched it all. I simply cannot believe filmmakers do create such movies at all, don't they have anything better to do? What I can't believe is that Russell Crowe played in this movie. Was he that desperate for money? Did he need a role in a movie that desperately? I just hope next time he thinks twice before accepting a role in such a bad not even worthy of the title b-movie. Quentin Tarantino, OK, I expect crap from him, but not from Russell Crowe.
The Man from Earth (2007)
Interesting at first, but in the end a waste of time.....
The movie was interesting at first, but half way through the plot changes and suddenly you realize where this is all going, before it is even happening. This isn't a movie at, it's a persons attack on Christianity. A complete mockery of the Christian faith and the Bible.
After a while the movie looses it's charm, because nothing is really happening at all. This isn't a science fiction movie at all, this is a religious themed movie, set out to confuse people. It's a shame.
This movie could have been great, if it didn't have the twist it has. But without the twist this movie would not have been made at all, since the twist is the purpose of the movie. It's obvious the writer really has a grudge against Christianity and the Bible, otherwise you wouldn't go through such length trying to discredit it.
If you want a good science fiction movie, skip this one and get something else. I really fail to see how this movie even can be considered thought provoking at all. It just follows the roads and reasoning we all heard before.
