No closeups-- that's one problem. Closeups take time, so they're expensive, and clearly they spent all the money on costumes and Sylvia Fine's dopey songs.
The only reason to see this, if you're not a Danny Kaye fan, is the delightful minute or so of the Pellet with the Poison exchange. But that's about it. And you have to wait an awfully long time for it. Kaye had his fans, and this movie is solely for his fans and no one else. He's just not interesting. Silly, yes, but silly only goes so far.
