Its a Scorsese masterpiece...
5 May 2024
This easily makes my recipe of story, thespians and plot come alive. With Nicholas, Rosanna, John, Tom and Ving all in developing roles about to come of age. Coming together with Mozart in his early years all to build a foundation in the cinematic world.

Who wouldn't want to be apart of "his early years" developing from appreciation to honorship. Truly to watch this recognizably Scorsese work of art gives me the insite to what's to come.

The zoom in and out with direction that always leads to explanation is his signature roadmap. Combine that with signature thespians and pool it all together with a rhythm you can't get out of your mind. Put on those listening ears and hum alongside a work art.

Assuredly on the heals of end times
1 May 2024
Here's a picture mirroring Man's reality of life and simply stating that's the way it is. We have experienced multiple end times moments throughout history and so thought the same in 2008 with the adjustment on Wall Street. Here's a movie representation of said accurances that formally explain it in common terms. Now more than ever is there a need for what I would call a reality check and here it is. My recipe of story followed by thespians culminating in plot are met in an astounding way. Its almost too dead on realistic fashion that will make you think twice about everything you see and hear. Its long but detailed with purpose in every aspect where key characters could be you in the mirror.

The essence of two awesome actors in the early days
1 May 2024
Once again my recipe for success is maintained with a story followed by thespians culminating in a plot. Here we have the early days for Jeff Bridges and John Heard performing in roles outside the norm but inside the greatness. For me I was able to hone in on John by his voice that was assuredly distinctive. The roll a bit of the wall but after the first 60 minutes I became his apostle in thought. Jeff simply played along almost as a filler but noticably necessary. So were all of the cast to follow where each filled the need and helped play out a plot no one could ever have imagined. What else is there to say but view this one with awesome expectations.

A total sleeper deserving of praise
1 May 2024
I have adopted a simple but accurate recipe for the selection of finally derived classics. Simply stated as a recipe that includes a story with thespians followed with the plot. Combined to create a true showpiece to be consumed by all and enjoyed forever. With that observation I can conclude that Heaven's Prisoners more than completely utilized all three and thensome. My only regret is that its appreciation will only be felt as a second rate movie. I easily can acclaim as to the formal use of locations combined with specific character actors and actresses only help to solidify Alec Baldwin as a 🌟. Watch it and be happy.

Thank you the truth always hurts...
28 June 2016
This film kept me locked into my chair trying to keep up with the awesome writing and story line. I can't understand how anyone could not say this is life! Sorry so many other viewers literally hated this 7.9 plus movie, but I think its due to that great line..."the truth always hurts". The Civil War did rip this country apart but at the same time it also brought it together to be even stronger than before. And Abraham Lincoln had to lead this affair against all odds. This movie depicts not only that struggle but what happened after the final battle and surrender. Keeping that in mind combined with a great murder plot Mr.Tarantino excels in bringing it all together on the screen. Thanks for another great movie!

Reality sometimes comes at a cost...
22 February 2016
This was a concept film that was put together with science, reality and culture all in one. It does sometimes hurt apparently to see reality with some viewers who only want James Bond/Indiana Jones/John Wayne as a starting point to what reality is.

But wake up the producers did a fantastic job combining all the aspects to entertainment and reality and combined it a dose of human/alien nature. See the use of taking what would be a Western and introduce a new angle sideways that not only could have but most likely has occurred. Yet the recording devices of the past couldn't hold a candle...literally to the 20th centuries digital world. So, what better to introduce it than by folklore and the telling of a tale. The director here did just that with a story told that just happened to combine the best of mankind in all of its forms. The good that can do bad, the bad that does good and the coming together to accomplish the impossible.

And as I mentioned earlier the truth does sometimes hurt.

Great comedy with an interwoven plot about politics from 1962...
25 March 2015
Come on Hanks, Candy, and the entire cast couldn't have been picked better than they were to represent America and the Communists from 1962. The story includes greed, charity, companionship, technology and true love. Get with it this is a GREAT Flick that deserves a higher rating that shows it all and includes great comedic writing on top! It is important for everyone to see the workings of capitalism through drugs and get a handle on where it is sourced from and where the profits eventually end up. Here Hanks takes a snobbish wealthy no good selfish student whose life was going no where through gambling debts and re- routes his talents for making friends and creates a whole new life. It's a clean humorous yet still interesting view on America in the early 60's and yet it's closer to reality than some people are probably going to accept. Let's not forget John Candy once again in a role that really suited him in every possible aspect in culture and time.

For real are you kidding...
25 March 2015
I cannot believe this movie is getting such high reviews when it is a real downer on our lives that Hollywood now produces mainstream films that should be listed as X- Rated. And worst of all even knowing that it is worth viewing the entire movie to the last minute I will give them that, but it is by all means a real let down on society that we have to simply accept the ending. The film industry used to produce movies that were both classy and intellectually driven. This movie tears it all down and delivers a punch of reality not wanting to see or even know of. My only question is...will there be a Gone Guy to follow anytime soon?

Awesome-Clean-Humorous

Excellent movie maybe to some has a slow start but the action never stops with a humorous take on the entire process. I was happier than I ever expected and entertained at the same time. Thank the producers for using the "old timers" like Malkovich/Freeman/Mirren but an especially huge and very grateful thanks for seeing Ernest Borgnine alive and well and performing in his old age!!!!!

The movie was considerate of how people were detained so to speak and yet at the same time with a bit of a giggle in the process. Great job Bruce and John I can't wait for the second and hopefully third servings of a great cast at work!

Favorite quote: "that's right OLD MAN"!!
