A Plague Tale: Innocence (2019)
Amazing experience
As a fan of character driven story games I say this is very original. In the game you play mostly as a teenage girl named Amiena she has to escort for baby brother Hugo through many harsh environments, shooting enemy troops and many rats along the way. You interact with many things and people along the way as she learns quickly about how cruel her world can be. This is a game that people who love single players games should play. The graphics are beautiful the voice actors are surprisingly very believable. Warning the game doesn't baby you around and you have to figure out how to get past guards and bosses by yourself so expect to die a lot. The only negative I have is the lip syncing is a bit off, I think the developers used French as their language to lip sync the characters so if your a nit picky person this might drive you a bit crazy. Over all it's a beautiful game and highly recommended for people who like to play alone.
Avengers: Endgame (2019)
Disappointing mess
First off what is it with Disney making everything so generic and bland. Sorry but you have a franchise so big with so many characters that "vanished" and what do you do with them... well not to give it away but Cher's song comes to mind, why because that's the only thing you can do silly! The only problem with it is it takes the non vanished ones like 45 minutes to figure this out. The rest of the movie is spend getting the stones with of course the epic battle in the end. I don't have a problem with this as it is a typical big budget movie that will probably break even more records through the course of time, or at least until the next big movie comes up in this crowded theaters. What I liked was the part of Thanos and his daughters, yes it slowed the pacing down a dat but it was emotional and meaningful. I also liked the humor, except for the Hulk being half Banner and half Hulk... it's like the executive is ok just throwing out what it means to be these various characters. The ending was also sad saying goodbye to some of the characters... some died others passed the torch to other ones which is where I have a problem. Sorry but for some it's regrettable to have a character be replaced since they really didn't need to (Captain America living a full life only to return a old man and passing the torch... with more of those red viles needed to turn back time couldn't he just go back in time again and remain CA?) all I can think of why they would do this is for being PC and/or to save Disney 20 million bucks a picture. There were other PC moments in the film, like in the epic battle there has to be a girl power moment out of the blue and it goes nowhere ... once again it's fine just too obvious. It's not a bad movie but also not worth the universal praise it is receiving either. I like the marvel movies and this one is no exception. The story just needed a bit more than turning back time and finding the stones. There are a lot of what happens next in the next films and I hope they do other things with Marvel post Stan Lee.
What Remains of Edith Finch (2017)
Exceptional game
There are times when I game just tears at your heart strings and this game is one of them. The game (without giving any spoilers away) is a collection of short stories about the Finch family's life and death. It's a 2 hour masterpiece with great pacing and just the right length. If they tried to have a regular length game it would have suffered. The best part of the game besides the story is the variations on the gameplay from comic books to playing as animals it works. You are never bored. This game although short is a must have for anyone who loves stories in your game.
The Walking Dead: The Final Season (2018)
What an amazing journey Telltale you will be missed
This was a great story, one of the most memorable video games I've ever played. Watching Clem grow up felt like almost a child of mine. The ending was great no spoilers here. If you're new to this game play through the 4 full games. To the staff at Telltale it's been real great games through out the years and as a studio you guys will be missed. Thanks Skyward also for fininshing this final series. What a great ending and a tribute to a great story.
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II (2010)
Size (of the game) matter
OK Yoda you are wrong on this one, although not a bad game, is not very good either in almost every way especially compared to the last game. Let's start with the good, the graphics is better that the original, even though, sadly they did not improve the controls as much as I still had a problem focusing on one enemy or to another. Another thing is the sound and voice acting was top notch even though the old player of Juno and Proxy was not in it too much. Juno was the main focus of Starkiller's rage to get back with her, which is a complaint because, unlike the main motivation would be the rebellion and freeing millions, Starkiller is focused solely on Juno. Other things was the scenes of Yoda and Boba Fett which was so over hyped, but I felt ripped off as combined they might be in the game for less than 5 minutes. And when Yoda was talking to Starkiller nothing very important to the story that couldn't have been done by meditations like he did last game. The "bad ending" made no scene at all, but the real ending gave me hope to a better game next time....which will hopefully happen in less than two years. The places he goes is few as he only arrives to three places the rest are on ships. The ending was good and guarantees a 3rd game.... and hopes they make it a bit longer because us Star Wars fans expect longer and frankly better.... I really wanted to like this game, too bad I bought the special edition, because it was not worth it. And now I hear they have enough balls to start with the DLC sending Starkiller to Endor, this pisses me off because after spending over $70 it should have been included in this ridiculously short game.
