Came across this on YouTube, had zero expectations and just wanted to check out the first few minutes to see what it was about. Ended up watching the entire film (~1 hour and 20 minutes) in one sitting. The acting by the two kids were amazing, the scenery throughout the movie was beautiful and the storyline was simple but everything was very well done. WARNING: Before watching, do not read any synopsis for this movie or comments on the YT video as you will risk spoiling it for youself!

The Bad Kids (2020)

Really wanted to like this.
22 July 2021
Based on all the forum recommendations and hype (I read that Zhang Ziyi said this was a Chinese series that could finally match the quality of Western dramas), I decided to give this a go.

The first episode was excellent, but from then onwards, everything just got worse to the point where calling this series terrible would not be an understatement.

This drama had a mediocre script, inconsistent acting, extremely unrealistic scenes, too many 'convenient (or just plain lazy) coincidences' used to further the plot, horrible flow/sequence of events and an ending that felt like the director just gave up on the project and wanted to hurriedly conclude everything.

I have never felt so furious before, after finishing watching a TV series. Maybe it was the high expectations. It really felt like the director had zero respect for his audiences. The lose ends were just so 'in your face' that they are completely inexcusable.

The director should really go back to school and put in more effort in terms of preventing laughable lose ends, making the plot/storyline/acting more believable, studying character development, improving script selection/writing and perhaps learning how to present a proper flow/sequence of events. Basically learn how to actually direct a show.

All in, this drama is in no way watchable and not recommended at all. I really hope to see a quality Chinese drama one day.

Pretentious crap
15 July 2021
Complete waste of time. Unlikeable protagonist. Little to no storyline. Too artsy. Unappealing and depressing backdrops. Maybe some pretentious art or film student would love this movie, but for the rest of us, this is just crap.

Game of Thrones (2011–2019)

9/10 all the way until the last season
15 November 2019
This show was brilliant from the first season till the penultimate season..The last season was shit, especially the last few episodes. Pure shit. It felt super rushed, with so many scenes and questions going unanswered. No heart or thought was put into the last few episodes, it really felt like they just wanted to end it as soon as possible. They tried to throw in some nonsensical shit to try to end it in a wonderful fashion, but failed spectacularly. The last season ruined everything for me, and was so bad that I have to change my rating from 9/10 to 1/10 overall. Fuck this series.

Beautiful piece of rubbish
2 March 2015
There's no doubt that this film was technically superb. It relies on the gimmick that almost the entire film appears to be shot in one single take.

However, this has been done before, notably in sci-fi film Children of Men by Alfonso Cuaron, where a proper action scene shot in a single take (unlike the so-called action scenes in Birdman, which were really childish), remains unforgettable till today.

Apart from Birdman's gimmicky approach to the film, there is nothing enjoyable about the movie. It has zero entertainment value.

Birdman's script and style was extremely pretentious. It's hard to believe that people say and do those things in real life. If you like these kind of artsy films with a paper-thin plot and no real character development or meaning, then Birdman is for you.

However, Birdman will never be a classic. It's not a film that you would want to watch again and again simply because it's so boring! Birdman will be excellent for film students but that's about it.

Marco Polo (2014–2016)

Terrible
18 December 2014
Some users on IMDb had warned that the acting and writing was bad, but I had to give this series a go because I mean come on, it's Marco Polo! So exotic, mysterious and epic! However, all I can say is that one episode is enough for me.

The IMDb users were right. The writing, acting and horrible accents were so bad that it made the whole thing unbelievable and unwatchable.

If you are looking for an intelligent series with captivating writing, acting and storyline i.e. Rome, Game of Thrones, then don't bother with this terrible pile of crap.

If you don't mind terrible dialogue and acting, but just want to enjoy the scenery in the movie (which is good), then this TV series is for you.

Mindbending, hidden gem
2 October 2013
If you're looking for a fun movie that will make you think a little, this is the movie for you. Reasons I can think of for watching this movie:

1) Cool storyline. Anyone who likes time travel movies will like this movie. 2) Chemistry between the cast is simply amazing. 3) It's funny yet logical.

Do not be put off by the lack of ratings/reviews. They really ought to put up a poster on IMDb for this movie. The lack of a movie poster is probably why this film is relatively unknown.

As one user already said, this is a movie you will not forget for a long time!

Vikingdom (2013)

Terrible.
27 September 2013
You will like this movie if you are 5-8 years old.

Lousy cgi, cheap looking costumes, horrible dialogue, bad cinematography and a clichéd storyline. The overall casting was terrible as well.

If you were expecting an intelligent, enjoyable, epic movie set in olden times, you will be extremely disappointed. Vikingdom should be classified as comedy instead of action or adventure.

I'd rather be forced to watch Twilight all over again. That's how bad it is.

This film is absolutely unwatchable.
