Peter Pan (2003)
10/10
A wonderful and beautifully shot adaptation of the book
5 January 2004
I found the 2003 version of the movie Peter Pan a wonderful and beautifully shot movie, with every scene and location definitely having a magical feeling to it. The child actors in the film each did a tremendous job, in particular Rachel Hurd-Wood as Wendy who gave a standout performance.

The film remained very faithful to the book, indeed lines from the book are read by the narrator at times. This is definitely a family film rather than a children's film as some of the underlying themes are more geared towards an older audience, such as the sexual tension and innuendos between Peter and Wendy and the complexity of the character of Mr. Darling.

Tinkerbell I felt was not as good in this movie as in other adaptations as I was left not really caring too much what happened to her, but the whole film's production was outstanding!

Casper Meets Wendy (1998 Video)

Cute kids movie marking the debut of Hilary Duff
5 January 2004
This is by no means a great movie at all, the special effects are pretty dodgy and the story quite weird also. The main reason why this would be of interest to viewers is that it marks the film debut of Hilary Duff, who is 11 years old in this film. This movie was one of her first ever jobs and she does a good job, given the material she is working with. Her voice is a lot higher pitched than it is on Lizzie. A standout scene would be Wendy and Casper dancing under a gazebo.

Providence (1999–2002)
Everything you could want in a TV drama
9 June 2003
Providence is a great television drama. It has elements of drama, comedy and romance in each episode, and revolves around the close-knit Hansen family and their fathers vet clinic.

Some parts of it are Ally McBeal-esque, particularly the dream sequences that almost always begin each episode with Sydney Hansens mother and some crazy thing happening to Syd.

After watching just a few episodes you really care about the characters and what happens to them and want to keep watching them.

Some of the parts in the hospital and clinic are a bit like ER but the show is more relationship based.

This is one of my favourite American TV dramas of all time!

Funny new adventure starring Brady Bunch
31 May 2003
The Brady Bunch in the White House was a pretty good movie, much better than I expected it to be. There were no appearances by any of the original cast or crew, although the script was written by Lloyd Schwartz and Hope Juber (Sherwood Schwartz's son and daughter both of whom worked on or appeared on the original Brady Bunch TV series). I enjoyed the film as the casting was (in my opinion) better than in the first 2 Brady feature films where I think they cast the actors too old (e.g. Marcia in The Brady Bunch movie was played by a 25 year old.) The storyline was a bit far fetched with Mike becoming president of the United States, and Carol being both the Vice President and First Lady and the family moving into the white house. Peter played ball in the house and broke a priceless mink vase which starts leaking right in the middle of a state dinner :p The character of Jan is like in the 2 previous movies, making a bit of a mockery of her and her inner voices which I don't like as that only happened in one episode. I enjoyed all the references to old episodes made in the film. There were several musical numbers, some on a patriotic sort of line but also the well known songs Time to Change and the theme song were done by the new cast. There was only one part where there was an attraction between Greg and Marcia and only when they were in the underground safe zone cos they thought a metiorite was going to hit the earth and they would have to start a new civilisation ;)... Yeah so all in all I very much enjoyed the movie, at first it was difficult to adjust to the new faces for the kids and Alice (this Alice is tooo skinny :p) but Mike and Carol are the same and just as good as ever. This movie was released on DVD and VHS in Australia on the 23rd of May and was on US TV in November of 2002.
