Not Line of Duty
24 September 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The series starts from a good premise and the setting is something one is not used to in matters of time development. For those who are not used to watch police or criminal series it will be an innovation. On the other hand, if you have watched Line of Duty all these interrogations are a bit boring. So if you liked this series, I strongly recommend watching Line of Duty, where interrogations are of one kind plus there is a well plot in all of its seasons.

Dehydration at maximum level
20 July 2019
Warning: Spoilers
What can I say, I am a huge fan of the original movie and watching this version was a must and it didn't disappoint! I knew what I was going to watch: the same movie made CGI and with maybe slight changes. And that is what I got. What they have done is make the movie more real, where animals behave like animals, not like humans as in the original movie, which was something good as it made the movie more real that expected. In addition, I had the opportunity to dehydrated myself and clean my poor eyes!!!!

Endgame of an era
26 April 2019
The day has come where all comes to an end. The hype was high and so do the ratings and although I am not a marvel comics fan (but a movie's one) I must agree with it. This is probably the best marvel movie ever.

After 10 years all comes to this and I must sat it is a good way to end. All good things come to an end and so do the avengers. Now we can only wait and see what Disney will do but nothing will ever be the same.

Meanwhile I will sit on a corner a decide what to do with my life!!

Glass (2019)

Unbreakable, Split, Glass, Shyamalan, Marvel
23 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
It has been just three weeks since the events of Split and the story continues. In this movie the three main players come together to the same path and this is where M. Night Shyamalan does his magic, because this is probably one of those movie that we need right now. Something different but still so familiar. Surrounded as we are with Marvel and DC movies, this "superheroes" movie comes nearer to reality than any of those.

Needless to say that the acting is flawless with three big names as Willis, Jackson and McAvoy. The three of them steal the show from the other, with McAvoy doing a bigger job due to his "bigger personality". Already in Split we did an amazing work and here, he continues doing sue but with the addition of Bruce and Samuel who reprise their roles and is always nice for the eyes and for the ears to watch both of them on-screen.

This a fantastic movie, that leaves you thinking for a while after leaving the cinema. Which is what movie are for, aren't they? Not a movie to miss, as Mr Shyamalan has recovered his touch. A really entertaining story that come to and end. Or does it?

Roma (2018)

An Ode to Life
21 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
If you are looking for a preplum of a movie set in Rome, Italy, your are at the wrong place. The Roma from the tittle refers to a district in Mexico City, where director Alfonso Cuarón grew up and to whom he gives and ode with this cioinema masterpiece.

A black and white movie always gets our attention nowadays and if it is a Cuarón one, even more. the story takes place in the 70s and it expands through one year in the life of wealthy family maid. But if you are eager for some soap opera kind of movie forget about it. This is not that kind of movie. This is just a movie where things are very real and where things just happen, because the characters are just human beings and life goes on for everybody, one way or another.

This movie is really a good piece of art and if you like European or Latin American cinema, you will definitely love it. But if you are expecting some kind of drama and action filled movie, just turn away. What makes the experience more fulfilling is watching it in its orignal version. It is music for your ears. A disfrutar!!

Look at ME (not) !!!
18 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
We find ourselves in the middle of the awards time and therefore we are bombarded with many good promising movies, some of which will be forgotten, others won't. This movie probably falls into the second group, as what won't be forgotten any time soon are the female performances given in it.

Three leading females rule the show but one of the three is who really steals it, and that is Olivia Colman, Queen Anne here. Her performance has been receiving many awards and for sure more will come to her. Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz are not left behind in their supporting roles and will join Olivia in many red carpets.

What is interesting in this movie is how the story is told and specially how it is filmed. This not the first historical movie that we are presented about this point in British history, but it is a film that concentrates on personal relationships and explains them in a unique way. Director Lanthimos has always a special touch with the camera and in this movie that is one character more.

This is not a movie for everyone. It is a movie for people who love good actresses performances and palace affairs told is a particular way. Not for every eye.

A Discovery of Witches (2018–2022)
8/10
A discovery of true magic
12 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The story might seem repetitive: witches, vampires, demons... but what really stand out in this series is the what and how is explained. We are used to see witches fighting against demons and at some point maybe even against vampires, but what we are not used to is to see world where the three of them tolerate each other. Even less a world where they have a completely human appearance and where they don't look at all as the creatures that they are supposed to be, which is really something new and interesting to think about. This series is kind of mix of Charmed, Twilight and something new that provides and added value to the whole.

The series is based on a trilogy of books (first season is the first book) and this is something that the audience realizes. How the story evolves and all that comes together scream: I come from a book!! It is true that sometimes (specially at the beginning) the story takes a slow path but step by step it starts to gain speed and towards the last half of the season, there are many things coming up at once and some mystery to solve. Don't expect a lot of action coming up but a lot of brain action instead!

Let's Go Fly a Kite
27 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
When the wind blows from the East... she arrives! It's been 54 years since Mary Poppins and nobody thought that a remake or sequel could be made, until now. Not that we needed it, but we don't mind at all.

This movie is kind of sequel of the previous movie. But first, what is important to know: none of the previous songs are played in this one. All are new musical numbers, some of which are catchy too. The story takes place some decades after the previous film and the Banks children have their own children. So, the nanny is back to take care of the Banks children, again.

Thanks to today's visual effects techniques all the musical numbers are spectacular for the eye and some songs will be remembered, but one must bear in mind, one cannot company 54 years with only 1 week. So, time will tell if this movie and its numbers will be remembered in cinema history like its predecessor.

The movie differs from the original one in the way that this one is a bit darker. In the original one there wasn't really an antagonist, while in here there is one... and the themes that are explained are maybe a bit darker and less pure and colourful than in the other one. But that doesn't mind that is bad, it's just different.

Comparison is unavoidable, but one must remember, these are two completely different movies and although for all of us Julie Andrews is and will be Mary Poppins, Emily Blunt does a wonderful job playing her part and she is maybe a bit more faithful to the Mary Poppins that appears on the novels, stricter.

Kids and no kids will love the movie. You will feel nostalgic and there are some Easter Eggs hidden. Therefore I strongly encourage to rewatch the classic movie in order to not miss any of them and hum at some points of the movie!!

American Hill House Horror Story
23 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Netflix is playing a hard game this year, and it has presented many series, some of them pretty good, like this one. The only thing I can say to present this series is: FINALLY a horror gets what it deserves!! (In terms of quality)

The story starts as the typically haunted house story, but the main difference lays not only on how the story is told, but how it's filmed. Every single shot, Every camera movement, is simply mesmerizing. Impossible to stop watching. First important detail of this series: there are two timelines: Present and Then. We see the same characters, played by different actors and actresses, at two stages of their life: when they lived at Hill House as children, and now, 26 years later.

We are explained episode by episode why the characters are now like they are. At first, each episode focuses on one of the five children, so we are presented with the same story and situations from different points of view and little by little, details are provided to the audience that in the end they form the whole puzzle. Important to mention is episode 6. An episode that is already a milestone of TV history because it's made of different long shots of about 15 minutes each and that is something that our eyes really appreciate. Only to watch it, it is worth getting the **** out of you during 10 episodes!!

Although this is a horror series, and at some point you might get really scared, not is all scary. There is a significant side that falls on the thriller/mystery label. Why are these things happening? What is going to happen with them? What did really happen to them? These questions follow us through the whole show and keep our eyes glued to the screen. If you are an American Horror Story fan, you will have some familiar feelings.

Aquaman (2018)

Move over Marvel!!
23 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
DC has finally woken up!!! (But just woken up and they still have a lot to catch up). As it happened with Wonder Woman, there is hope for DC and this movie is a prove that a job well done is possible when on the right hands.

The story takes place after the events from Justice League (although it's like the previous movie didn't exist at all, and we are not complaining about it). Plot is interesting, there are no aliens invading us this time, it's purely a survival matter that happens all underwater of our world. Most of the movie is underwater, so imagine how brilliant and awesome the visual effects are. I can only say: give them already their Oscar, please! Amazing. Not only all the animals we see but also the clothes and specially the hair of the main characters, you feel like you are inside a tank of your town's aquarium.

All along the movie you will feel like you are watching another movie, because at some point there is a mix of other movies or simply things that will remind you of them, like: Riders of the Lost Ark or Avatar. And let's not forget that Little Mermaid moment with the Octopus playing the drums. Fantastic! Plus the female character reminds us of Black Widow, just kicking asses but with her own power too and she's not just a secondary player. Marvel, please take note on that. It's like a mix of movies, but in a good way. Not for a minute will you check your watch while watching the film.

It seems that DC is finally finding their path with the storylines. Aquaman is as Wonder Woman was, a really entertaining movie. It has mythology, it has action, it has a good speed and it has humor. And probably the best visual effects of the year. So what are you waiting for?

Gangsters are back
18 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Ohnny Depp. Just to see his transformation to play the leading character of this movie is worth your time. Besides the physical aspect, we are so used to seeing him as Pirate Sparrow, here we get the change to see another Johnny, the great actor Johnny. Critics say that is the best work of his career, and it might be true. How he plays Whitey, really convincing and really catchy.

Besides him, there is a bunch of good secondary characters like the always amazing Benedict Cumberbatch, who only has to breath to have all of us waiting for him, or like Joel Edgerton, who is really great actor and this role is like a ring for his finger.

The movie is a gangster movie, don't expect it to be a kind of "The Godfather", which is almost impossible to make, but nonetheless it's a well made movie with a real story behind it and worth watching to learn a bit more about it and enjoy good actors on the screen.

Sicario lo somos todos
18 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Many of you might think, oh no, another drug dealing movie about what is going on at the border between the USA and Mexico... and yes, you are right, this is another movie about what is happening but we don't want to know is happening day after day... but let me tell you something, the movie is really catchy and why is that? Well besides how it has been filmed there something different from the others movie: the main character is a woman.

Emily's Blunt character is what makes this movie terrifyingly real and to gain our attention among all the movies from the same topic. She is the newcomer in a land of men, as one might say. she is coming from the bureau where everything follows some rules and there is the law. Here she has to learn to not follow said rules and even forget about the law. Time to sort of one priorities.

The plot itself is nothing out of the ordinary but it is the actors' work that make this movie one movie to remember (or not to forget). It is really an entertaining movie that gets your attention with what is happening and with its reality that not many other movies can comply. Really worth your time.

A ghotic Ghost Story
18 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
First of all, this is not a ghost story, but a story of ghosts. If you are looking for some pure horror movie, something like Insidious, then this is not it, although you will jump from your seat at some point, which is always welcome!

Best thing about this movie is the visual sight of it all, the sets, the house, the wardrobe! Everything has been taken care up to the littlest detail ever! It is like a gothic fairytale, but instead of fairies you will find some ghost wandering around at some point in the story... The house, for example, is soo big and there are so many things in it that you might start thinking, really? Why is this like that?

All characters are really well-played by their actors and actresses but Personally, I loved Jessica Chastain's performance. She is really terrific in her role as the sinister sister; since the moment she appears, she simply takes the show home. Absolutely fantastic she is! (She should take more roles like this!)

This is above all a Guillermo del Toro's movie and you can feel his touch in it and if you like his movie this one won't disappoint you. Just go and enjoy it!

Bonus: At some point in the movie a friend of mine shouted: "That's Batman!!". Which I found really hilarious because I was like: "That's a ninja!!". Watch the movie and try to guess which scene I am referring to XD

There is no Gravity on Mars
18 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
First of all, this is no "Interstellar" nor Gravity" though you might think otherwise... This is a movie about "could a human live in Mars?". It's basically a movie about survival and what man has to do in the so red planet. Don't expect any bad guys or action or shooting cause this is not that kind of movie.

That said, the movie is very scientifically accurate (or at least they try) and you spend the whole time of it waiting to see how it ends, if it's a success or a failure, if he survives or not... (you will have to watch it in order to know the answer).

Matt Damon does an amazing job, although you might think about his role in "Interstellar" this one has nothing to do with it (NOTHING). Here you can feel his solitude, his longing to survive, and he spends much of the movie doing that, you see what he has to do in order to survive and how he does it. He is the movie.

The movie is pretty good and pretty interesting because it makes you ponder if mankind could live in Mars or in any other planet. It's a survival movie.

No es oro todo lo que reluce
18 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
It has taken Alejandro Amenábar 14 years to go back to basics, that is, to go back to what he really knows what to so: psychological thrillers. So this is the main incentive to watch this movie, how is he gonna surprise us?

The movie itself is really well filmed, you can feel his style in it, so if you are not used to it, you might find it a big strange at the beginning but nonetheless is a movie worth an opportunity. You might find the movie a bit slow at some points, but you spend most of the movie with your eyes open trying to get what is going on and how it is going to end.

As for the cast, both leading actors are marvelous in the roles. Ethan Hawke, as he is lately getting us used to, does a pretty good job of his police inspector and as for Emma Watson, who plays the victim, is saying goodbye to Hermione for good, and we don't get reminded of her at all.

Don't expect a horror movie cause this is not; it is a suspense/thriller movie nearer to classics like "The Changeling" than "The Howling". Tik Tok..

Cinderella (I) (2015)

Bibidi Babibi Boo !!
18 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Not my favourite Disney cartoon pic but I liked this version much more, it's more real, cause we all know that animals don't talk! LOL! Yes, we all know the story by heart and if you had a childhood I bet you've seen the 1950's cartoon version, so you shall watch this one too.

The story is (almost) the same as the cartoon one but is has been changed a bit. We get to see Cinderella's mother and we get to see that she met the prince before the ball, which it makes more sense. Cause would you marry someone who just met at a ball and dance with them for like one minute? NO! Here they story is more developed, which is gratifying. There are no talking animals, but the mice are still there in their way. We get to see the iconic pumpkin scene, wich is quite hilarious by the way and also the iconic ball scape scene which I think is brilliant made, cause if you are on one side of the castle and the exit is at the other side of course you must run all the way!! Not simply puff, appear at the exit.

If you pay attention you will observe that there is a colour pattern for all characters, like Cinderella always wearing Blue and her sisters pink and green (like in the cartoon). Moreover, all things have bright colours which make it all more magical. Then, there is also the music, some tones form the original version and new versions that will keep you humming through all the film and after (not like a Let it Go kind of thing but still).

As for the performance, Lily James is terrific as Cinderella, cannot imagine anyone else playing her, plus, this Cinderella is more independent that the one of the cartoon version (thank god). Opposite here the is Cate Blanchett, who as always is awesome in her bad-ass stepmother role! So could please keep giving her mean characters? Then we have Rob Stark err I mean Richard Madden with his brightly blue eyes as the Prince who is definitely charming and we can forget the part where he falls for the prettiest one( if only for one second!!).

Above all, that the cast is mainly brits gives it last touch to this classic fairy tale and for 100 minutes you will forget about anything else. Just go and watch it your kids, they'll love it, and the adults will too.

Musarañas por toda la casa
18 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Lately there have been many Spanish horror films, most of which are not bad at all and this one is one of the lucky ones. The whole movie happens inside the sister's apartment, which makes you feel quite claustrophobic, and that is the main idea of this nest, to be a nest where you can come in but never get out.

The movie takes place in the Spain of the 50s and we see clear on the characters' hairstyle and dresses, the details are being taken care of, so much that the movie won a Goya Award for that. Moreover the actors and actresses do an amazing job, specially Macarena Gómez who at some point makes you all stressed out with the situation. Have to add that they are well-known among the Spanish audiences and Macarena has us used to her comic side but here she shows her dramatic one.

If you want to see something different from the American horror movies you might give a chance to this movie as it is enjoyable and will not disappoint you, plus this is European cinema, where blood and nudity are not so much restricted as in the American movies. So enjoy it!

Insiidous goes my time
18 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
For the newcomers, this is a horror movie that is not bad made. You can watch is a stand alone or watch it and then watch the other two and then you will realize what you have been missing, as the other two are much better than this one.

This one looks like a movie just to get some money, nothing more, nothing less. You spend the whole movie like.. ok... when are they gonna do it and get over with it? Thankfully, the movie is not thaaat long and you can watch it within the blink of an eye, which is sad, as it i had higher expectations (same happened with Annabelle, now that i think about it...).

This movie could be categorized as a horror movie from the pile, nothing special, something just to spend some time and then forget about it. if you loved the first two Insidious you will be disappointed, if not, please go watch them now!! If you were wondering about the "red" friend (the best of the movie by the way), you will find your answer in the next one, that's the original one.

Minions (2015)

BANANA
18 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
If you watched the first two Despicable Me movies you will love this one more (much more!). Cause don't forget, the stars of those movies are these yellow small people! So here you find them as the main characters and the funny begins!

The plot is not bad at all. The idea is that they explain us where do the Minions come from and what were they doing before being with Gru. So that means, one funny scene after another. They are going everywhere to find the baddest ass ever, and finally the find Scarlet (voiced by Sandra Bullock, who really gets into character). Then, the fun continues and goes on, and goes on.

There isn't much of a dialogue here, well there is, but please let me know if you understand anything that they say about it! Which is even more hilarious cause you might get some words in your language (whatever the language is). So, if you wanna laugh go and watch it, cause remember, the Minions were the best thing in the Despicable Me movies, so now they don't need to steal the show as they have their own one!

Just one more thing: BANANA!

PS: Stay until the end credits and some more

The book that we never read
21 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
So, here we have the latest Harry Potter... er... Fantastic Beasts installment, which takes place only a few months after the previous movie, but it seems like the previous movie happens in a different universe, with a different style, and not so Harry Potterish as this one (so, we loved it!).

This movie feels like watching the book that J.K.Rowling never wrote and that we never had the change to read!! A book with a more than two hours length, where our brains simply explode with all the new information we are presented and all the new characters and new relationships that we didn't know! Firstly, there are the characters from the previous movie, that serve as a connection to this one. Secondly, new characters whose names and occupation is harder to follow than if they lived in Westeros! Finally, is it necessary all those Harry Potter characters references? Really?

What made the first movie special were the characters that weren't directly related with the Harry Potter books, or at least not that obviously! In here, they want to give the fans so many Harry Potter Easter Eggs, that the whole movie is an Easter Egg itself. Where is the plot!? More than two hours to explain that Grindelwald is gathering followers and tha Dumbledore can't kill him himself (that is, until the end of the movie). Why so much "interest in revealing who Credence is? Hopefully, we will get our answer in one of the next three upcoming movies! Plus, let's not forget! Thanks to our lovely Hermione in a deleted scene from Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, we already know that Dumbledore will indeed kill Grindelwald in 1945. As an extra, Why tilting the movie "the Crimes of Grindelwald if we see none of them?

Two hours that could have been better spent if they made the movie different. It's not that bad, but it felt really long, slow and not moving forward at all with the main story. The actors are pretty good in playing their characters, and we get even some fantastic beasts moments, which personally are the best part of the movie, as they keep on with the spirit of the previous film. But let's not forget: they only appears to justify the presence of Newt Scamander and his friends on-screen, who by the way, will continue to appears in the following three movies.

Potterheads will probably don't like the movie much because of too many Harry Potter references and the lack of plot. On the other hand, non-Potterheads may be entertained. Anyhow, prepare your wallets with all the new merchandising that is coming out! (Did you notice that Hogwarts students cloak are different?). And please, pet your dog or cat!

BONUS - Question arised while watching the movie as a Potterhead:

-Why create the characters if Leta Lestrange and give her so much mystery in the previous movie, only to kill her here? -Why show Hogwarts at all? So you can use new cloaks designs, so we go buying them? -Are you showing how Gryffindors are mean to a Slytherin, for a specific reason? Before #Mudblood came #SnobWitch. -Why in the DADA lesson against the boggart are we seeing students from the fours houses? Shouldn't it be only two houses together? -Why is Dumbledore teaching DADA instead of Transfiguration? It's 1927. And McGonagall was born in 1935. Why does she appear in the movie at all!!? -Aurelius Dumbledore. Albus is 45, and according theories his brother should be 27. why does he looks like he is 18 years old then? -Nagini a person? Was she already a permanent snake when Voldemort met her? Die he speak with her using parseltongue to know that she is a person? Didn't Harry met and freed her at the London Zoo? -One Lestrange dead. How about the others? Because obviously Rabastian and Rodolphus have parents at some point and Bellatrix in-laws. -Why they don't explain which crimes has Grindelwald specifically committed? -Nicolas Flammel and the philosopher's stone are in Paris. Necessary Easter Egg? -Because of the last place that Grindelwald ans his fellows are, are they going to show some nazis in the next movies? -Why don't show us the truth? There was no blood pact, there was a thing called love. Way to miss an opportunity!! -Dumbledore's secret brother reminds me of Voldemort's secret daughter.

A Star was Always Here
28 October 2018
And the Oscar goes to...!!! This is the first thing that will come up to your mind once you have finished watching this treasure of a movie. The second thing is guessing the category, and I bet you will go for all of them.

This movie is the fourth version of the same story, where each of the ways it has been told (each one of them) has something different that identifies itself: #1. The original version wasn't a musical, #2. Was something Over the Rainbow, with Judy Garland on it, #3. Felt like you were at Woodstock and rock and rolling and #4. It feels like a real story adapted to today's times.

Bradley Cooper directs, produces, writes, acts, sings and performs. He is simply fantastic on his role as a singer who is going through a rough path. That is, until his path crosses with the one of Lady Gaga. Then, you forget about him and sorely focus on her. All your attention is drawn to her, because she is the movie. She is basically playing herself, and it is here, while you are watching this movie, that you truly realize what an amazing singer she is (even more if you are not a fan of her work) and also that she is not a bad actress. On the contrary, she can act, and if you think that as she is playing a singer role it's easy for her, go watch the fifth season of American Horror Story and check for yourself what she can really do in front of the camera.

Then (of course) there is the music. The forever actor in this kind of movies. Real, up to date music. It doesn't mind if you are not into country or pop music, you will definitely enjoy this movie and once you leave the theatre, you will go to get the movie's soundtrack as soon as possible. If you still haven't had the chance to watch this film, what are you waiting for? Go watch it, and then you can wait with the rest of us until the Oscar nominees are announced early next year.

Cable Girls (2017–2020)

Las Chicas son Guerreras
19 September 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Las Chicas del Cable, aka Cable Girls for the rest of the world, is the first Spanish series developed by Netflix and it has become a real success in Spain. Just a couple of weeks ago the third season as released and they are already filming a fourth one. So, we will be enjoying this feminist series for a while.

First thing that will get your attention from this series is the photography. It's set in Madrid in the late 20's and you can feel the atmosphere as you were then. But it's not only what the eye sees that is interesting but also how different times were. The main characters are four girls and the story revolves around them when they enter to work at one of the first phone companies of the country. The second thing that will surprise you is the music, although the story is set in the twenties, the soundtrack consists of modern music, which it gives you something else; like Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby did.

We have Lidia, who is hiding her past and will cross paths with old friends and foes; Carlota, who comes from a rich family but is more liberal than was expected for a woman at that time; Marga, coming from a small town to the capital; Ángeles, devoted wife and mother who will learn a thing of two of what is hidden at plain sight. Each one of the characters represents a kind of woman that helps us feeling related to. Every single one of the actresses portraying these characters are simply superb; specially Blanca Suarez, a well know face in the Spanish cinema, who shines above the rest (as she always does).

Then there are the supporting actors: Francisco and Carlos who help to create a love triangle in the story; Sara, the supervisor who is hiding something from everyone; Pablo, another worker at the company who is the shy type, and Carmen, Carlos' mother who is the b** old lady (Concha Velasco is superb, as always portraying mean characters!). All these are surrounded by various other characters that give more insight to the whole story.

First season was simply fantastic. It was the novelty, a new story that was presented, new characters, easy-going and a big cliff-hanger in the final episode. Second season looked more like a kind of soap opera, many things happening at the same time and many open matters, that ended with a grand finale. Third season recovered itself and although the beginning was a bit doubtful, in the end it was better than expected. But don't get fooled, in every single one of the episodes so many things happen, that you might lose count of it, but you don't, because each one of them are meaningful.

PS: If you have watched Velvet, another Spanish series, all will look pretty similar as this series is from the same creator.

Mamma Mia! What a sequel!!
22 July 2018
Warning: Spoilers
As Amanda Seyfried said in one of her interviews, when I heard that they were making a Mamma Mia! sequel I was like: not so sure it was a good idea, but after watching it (in her case making it), it really was a brilliant one!

Here we are presented with the continuation of the original story 5 years later. The story of the movie is quite simple and you can guess all of it from watching the trailer (pay attention and you will notice that all Meryl scenes on it are from the previous movie). Donna passed away and Sophie wants to open the hotel that her mother dreamed of while we also discover the past of Donna; when she met Sophie's three fathers.

Everybody is back for the movie. As in "everybody" is back, plus there are new faces like the young versions of the grown ups from the first movie and Cher, who sings Fernando and reminds you of what an amazing voices does she have. Among these faces there is the fantastic Lily James who, together with Amanda Seyfried, carries on her shoulders the weight of the whole movie. And she not only does a wonderful job of it but she is the movie. You feel like watching a young Meryl Streep on-screen and something more, because as so good of an actress Meryl is, her singing in the previous movies was ok, which doesn't happen with Lily, as she is a fantastic singer and all the times she sings you feel like standing up and joining here on screen and do some karaoke. Quite exactly like happens with Amanda. They both stand out when they sing. As for the other younger versions of the oldies, they have been simply perfectly casted (specially Donna's besties). They behave and act like their older counter parts.

As for the songs. We are presented with a whole new batch of ABBA songs, like: When I kissed the Teacher, One of US, Kisses of Fire, Angel Eyes, Knowing Me Knowing You, The Name of The Game or Fernando. There are also some from the previous movie that are new versions: Waterloo, I have a Dream, Dancing Queen, Mamma Mia or Super Trouper. Here I need to say that all new versions of the songs that were used in the previous movie, are simply awesome. I personally like the Mamma Mia version much better than the previous one (Lily James has the perfect voice to play the tunes with the needed force) and also the Supper Trupper one, with everybody, as in everybody singing, simply makes your skin go into goosebumps mode because of the feelings you receive.

After watching this movie you will feel like how you felt after watching the original one or the stage musical: you will just want to start dancing and singing everywhere. but most important you will feel full of life and happiness. So go watch it and have the time of your life!
