Star Trek: Picard (2020–2023)
8/10
GPT suggestion for followup series
6 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The USS Voyager-J, a state-of-the-art starship, is sent on a mission to explore a remote sector of the galaxy. Captain Seven of Nine, a veteran Starfleet officer, is tasked with leading the mission, with Raffi as her trusted first officer.

As the crew begins their mission, they are joined by a new member: Jack Crusher, the son of the late Jean-Luc Picard, who has been appointed as special counselor to the captain. Jack is a former adventurer who has spent most of his life traveling the galaxy, seeking thrills and excitement. However, he has finally decided to take his life and career seriously and has joined Starfleet to make a difference.

The crew encounters a number of challenges and mysteries on their journey, including encounters with hostile alien races, natural disasters, and unexplained phenomena. Along the way, they learn more about each other and form a close-knit bond.

However, the biggest challenge for the crew comes when they discover evidence of a sinister plot by a shadowy organization that threatens to destabilize the entire galaxy. As they work to uncover the truth and stop the plot, Seven, Raffi, and Jack must confront their own personal demons and make difficult choices that will determine the fate of the galaxy.

Throughout the series, we see Seven of Nine grappling with the responsibilities of command, relying on her experience as a former Borg drone and her sense of duty to guide her decisions. Raffi serves as Seven's trusted advisor, using her street-smarts and unconventional thinking to help the crew overcome obstacles. Jack brings a sense of adventure to the crew, but also proves himself to be a capable and dedicated officer.

Overall, the series would explore themes of growth, redemption, and sacrifice, while also providing plenty of action, adventure, and exploration.

The best story I have have enjoyed in a long long time
29 November 2021
I stumbled over this one on the DUST Youtube channel.

I relly enjoyed it! Shame that DUST did not in any way mention who was behind this short, but luckily I found it here!

Keep up the good work!

Worth your while, unless you are comfortable in you conservative world view :)

Pretty good capture of how it feels to be 17 and wanting to change things!

Of all the main actors, only Hagen and Leas mother have not previously been present in Tatort...

Being emo does not help you survive in crisis.
13 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Why would you repeatedly panic in a low oxygens situation? Why would you argue about non essentials wasting precious time talking to somebody attempting to help you?

Even if the situation is unpleasant, shouldn't basic survival instinct make you focus on not shortening the remaining time, and trying to gather info that might help you, instead of throwing emotional tantrums?

I wanted to like this series.
10 October 2020
I really want to like this series, the plot is interesting, and quite original. But the cast is just frustrating, or more likely the directions they are given. Constantly over acting on the side of melodrama in almost ridiculous ways. Any normal person would keep a low profile in dangerous situations, but here they throw fits, scream and yell for no good reason, seemingly totally unaware of how much attention they are attracting. It's like these guys have survived hard conditions, but somehow managed to gather exactly zero street smartness. In a society with a strong class system, you can't just ignore your superiors, or challenge them any time you disagree with them, Not that I think it is the right thing to do on a general level, but being constantly melodramatic, is probably not gonna get you far when you live in a police state. Had this been real I doubt many of them would have survived up to the point where the story takes place. What a shame.

Amélie tribute?
30 January 2020
From the start of episode one, Nina (Carla Salle) made me think of Amélie, in this episode there is a scene at her home where she is talking with her brother and she is framed by a illuminated yellow/gold circular decoration. The colors of the room, and the rather warm white balance could have easily been mistaken for a scene from the Amélie movie.

Plot holes not mentioned elsewhere
3 June 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Overal its interesting to see a Nordic post-apocalyptic drama, but this one had just too many plot holes that I couldn't really ignore

Many of them have already been mentioned, so Im focusing this on things that I haven't seen in other reviews.

When the siblings realise that their father caused the mass extintion event everybody is suffering and is continuing doing ruthless human experiments that leads to every subject dying, they still wan't to find him and get saved by him....

If water is so dangerous that contact means instant death, how come all the characters look like they just showered?

How did the people still alive survive for six years without drinkable water? OK the bunker kids, had safe water whilst in there, but what about once they left the bunker? When we are on the bunker, did they really have six years of safe to shower in water suplies, how did it smell after a couple of months?

Copenhagen The strait between Denmark and Sweden in this area is just some 8 km, boats and rafts have been available since pre-historic times, why the obsession of crossing over the one bridge that would likely be monitored?

The mansion 1) Showers, yet again, where did the water come from?

2) What was the purpose of the canibalism, that little meat for so many didnt serve a meaningful nutritional purpose, so seems rather pointless from a practical point of view, let alone from a moral one. Would you really stay in a sanctuary, when the risk of you being the next meal is something like 1/50? Especially if you came there with your children, as aparently some did.

Stray pets If you see a dog wanting contact, and you just mention that they carry the virus and must be avoided, why would you spend the night in a barn without doors instead of staying in the house just next to it?
