Pan (2015)
I don't care what the critics say, I enjoyed it from start to finish!
Upon seeing the trailer I was hesitant that it might be good but I decided to give it a shot and watched it during its premiere.
And boy, was I surprised!
I absolutely loved the simple things that foreshadow the events of the actual story: James Hook using a hook in the mining scene, the ticktock of the bomb that he placed to set Peter free, Tiger Lily scaring Hook with the crocodile and many more. I have to give credit to the writer with his different take on the Peter Pan story.
Also, the friendship between Hook and Peter was great, they got each other's backs, with Hook saving Peter and vice-versa, kinda sad that they'll eventually end up as enemies since this movie established that relationship.
Everyone was right for the role, Hugh Jackman was amazing as the villain, how he looked here made me forget that he is Wolverine. Rooney Mara was dashing in her Tiger Lily role and performed well even though she was Caucasian in contrast to the natives. Garrett Hedlund played this cocky, playboy-type, off-character Hook who always provides the laughable comebacks. Levi Miller was great as Peter, that dude's going places.
Although, I have to note the lack of battle between Peter and Blackbeard, since the prophecy stated that the former will defeat the latter. They should have put at least a short duel between the two because that'd be amazing.
All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed the film, I don't care what the Rotten Tomatoes rating or critics say!
Jurassic World (2015)
A beautiful nostalgic film that kept me in the edge of my seat
At first I was afraid that it might suck since JP3 did, they even killed the T Rex in that one too. But I believe Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly might make it work given that they had written a critically acclaimed movie "Safety Not Guaranteed", and I thought, maybe they can... AND THEY DID!
It brought a tear to my eye as some scenes reminded me of the first, oh the NOSTALGIA! There were a lot of nods to the original, most notably two kids getting lost and facing the evil Dino, some scenes copied the first but suddenly went in a different direction before you could say, "They copied it from the first film!"
And OH MY GOD JOSH GAD(Frozen's Olaf) WAS RIGHT! THE LAST 20 MINS OF THE FILM WAS PURE BLISS! IT WAS AMAZING! It had me at the edge of my seat.
Although I may have to agree that the plot was too predictable but it was amazing, a great improvement over the third and an epic revival to the franchise!
Scary Movie 5 (2013)
WAS OK, but c'mon, SHARK ATTACK?!
Fiirst off, Charlie and Lindsay's scene were funny, but not that funny, they should've extended it and gave it a few more hilarious scenes, but no. David Zucker kinda lost his writing skills after a a gap of 7 years between 4 and 5, or is it the other writer's fault? The Paranormal Activity spoof was nice and it being connected to MAMA was great, but how it delivers its comedy was blech... And WHY THE HEL DID THEY INCLUDE RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES?! I mean, it's a good movie, but it's not good enough to be a SCARY MOVIE. Adding the Evil Dead into the movie was funny but it's too short, while Black Swan was heavily parodied, including the Lesbian Scenes, Uh, we don't need those, okay? And the climax of the movie, BOY IT REALLY SUCKS, they could've done better, but MAMA FALLING INTO A SHARK INFESTED JACUZZI? SUUUUUCKS. Moving on to the Characters, Ashley Tisdale was good at her part but not enough to make it totally funny, and Also Simon Rex. To sum it all up, Scary MoVie is a comedy that'll only make you wanna watch it if you're a fan of the series.
Comedy is 3/10 Storyline is 1/10
Jurassic Park III (2001)
Step aside T-Rex, Spino's here!
When I was a little kid, about 6 when this movie was released, I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! especially the tumbling plane fuselage action.
and it's totally brilliant, going with a new carnivore instead of with the same old T-rex, the fight scene between the Spinosaurus and T-Rex was like "Move over Rex, you've had enough screen time!" it is very symbolic on how the (JPIII's) director & Writers managed to introduce a new Anti- Hero well, So I give them two thumbs up.
Also, it's short compared to the first two, since you have a small set of characters,
I also wanna comment on the Pteradon action, in which makes them the tertiary Anti- hero.(The Velociraptors are the secondary)
but one really odd thing on the Spinosaurus, why does he/she keep stalking the group? I mean, The Velociraptors have their reason because of their eggs, but why you chase them Spino?
overall, i highly recommend this movie, it does not deserve it's 300 million box office, it deserves more!
The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)
Pure Awesomeness but...
The movie was great, and as I can say, BETTER than the Sam Raimi version, less serious than Raimi's one took. its less serious and more Teen-is style, since it focuses on the teen audience...
There are moments where your heart will stop beating because of the fast- paced action and touching moments that'll touch your heart. Garfield and Stone had great chemistry in the movie too, adding romance to the action packed reboot. However, some plot points remind us of the original...
I can't say anything more, The movie was overall AMAZING, to the old and new fans of the series, and i thought remaking a decade-old movie was a bad idea, MAN I WAS WRONG! Marc Webb directs the movie as good as Joss Wheddon did to The Avengers.
Piranha 3DD (2012)
cheesily brilliant
This movie did not live up to the original, it wasn't that gory and terrifying at all, let's go to the negatives first, the problem is, the cheesy song when there's action, like Fallon's shotgun-legs scene, It made me feel like Drew's in love with him, and the water park explosion scene, the background music was good, but not as good as the first one's climax had. Me and my friends had watch this movie and they felt like the death scenes felt like Final destination (exagerated deaths). now for the positives, Danielle Panabaker was great as the lead, Melton and Dunstan had a great idea of a water park being attacked by the school of bad ass piranhas, speaking of piranhas, they looked pretty good in this movie, i had to say, better than the first. The "dentata" scene made us laugh out loud, but wait, why didn't Shelby feel the fish inside her uterus? lastly, The Hoff was brilliant at playing a Parody of himself being an ass and all. Overall, Piranha 3DD was enjoyable, but don't expect much of it to be like the first, I hope they make a Piranha 3DDD without John Gulager, i think he messed it up, bring Aja back!
