Doctor Who: Boom (2024)
BOOM: A Delightful Journey with room for growth
'BOOM,' offers a delightful viewing experience that excels not only in its storytelling but also in its technical aspects. Steven Moffat's skilled writing shines through, delivering a narrative that keeps us engaged from start to finish.
The attention to detail in the sound design is equally commendable, which adds depth to the storytelling.
While my expectations were high due to Moffat's involvement, this episode managed to deliver a solid and enjoyable experience. One for all Doctor Who fans. However, I wanted more from the episode. First half was very tense. Second half had a faster pace, but I felt like this was due to time running out. I forget how short Doctor Who episodes are. I feel like Moffat played it more safe with this episode. Even more excited to see where this 'Ruby Sunday' storyline is going. I wonder if it'll snow next week!
7/10.
A Quiet Place Part II (2020)
Good movie but where is the creativity and emotion?!
A perfect film to watch on the big screen after several months of cinemas being closed (here in the UK)
pros:
-fast paced sequel that dives into the origin of the apocalypse.
- characters really started to develop, especially the kids
- sound design and editing remains great.
Cons:
- the film lacks the creativity, excitement and most importantly... emotion, that the first movie had. It feels like it's a very long episode out of a television show.
-cliché 'filler' movie to potentially extend some of the plot but not actually go anywhere.
- the movie ends just as the things start to get good. Some say this is a great cliffhanger, or a way to get us to watch the sequels, but this isn't the case I think. The film itself saved the best parts for the final 20 minutes and then it ends.
Overall 6/10. It was a good movie to watch in the cinema with incredible cinematography, acting, sound design and visual effects. Shame about the lack of emotion and creativity.

Community: Emotional Consequences of Broadcast Television (2015)
Now this is how you end a show. A perfectly written, meta and emotional ending.
I love season 6 so much! It took the first couple episodes to adjust to the new episode lengths, but i loved it. In my opinion, season 6 is the most meta and most self aware season. Chang hasn't been properly utilised... and he acknowledges that. What happened to that pierce hologram? That only Jeff saw?! Why are they still at community college? People leave all the time. Abed has almost recovered from Troy leaving. And now Shirley 'spinning off'. I LOVE this season and it's meta ways.
This season is all about change (or should I say Chang) the characters are preparing for the end. Especially Jeff. He knows that everyone will eventually leave him. His character arc has gone full circle! To only caring about himself, to caring about himself... and others.
But that scene at the end, of Jeff looking at the table... he doesn't have to say anything... and we instantly feel what he's feeling.
We've seen Jeff evolve. And now he comes to terms with the fact that; it's all ending. And accepting change, is okay...
And that double hug with Abed at the end. Abed is so confused by it, he's unsure why he hugged again. But that's Jeff's way of thanking him. Seeing his... 'value'. Jeff May have started the study group, but Abed was the guy who found the people.
