Every woman's desire...
23 August 2004
Jessie in Romancing the Stone, is every woman's dream. The lawless

outlaw brings out the animal in every woman. He is the epitomy of desire. He's a man that defends his woman at any cost. He's the untamed and strangely mysterious stranger riding off into the sunset. And Michael Douglas was the only one who could fill his shoes. I think Kathleen Turner as the hopeless romantic and sexually repressed novelist was great. At the start of the movie, she fits the part. Mousy, lonely but filled with secret desire and passion bursting to escape. By the end of the film, she's confident, and in the end, she gets her storybook ending. This time, Jessie won't be riding off into the sunset alone.

Hello Again (1987)
A light-hearted romantic comedy!
16 November 2003
Hello Again isn't getting the recognition it deserves. It's a funny relaxing movie that does indeed leave you sighing with contentment. It always does for me. It's about a housewife, Lucy Chadman married to an upscale doctor and is unhappy with her present career and comes to an untimely end while eating a south korean chicken ball. Her wacky sister Zelda dabbles in magic and manages to bring her back to life. Now Lucy must piece back her life with help from her handsome doctor and find true love within the next full moon or she has to go back. The movie is memorable because of the quirky story , Gabriel Byrne's admiring eyes for Lucy and the nonstop comedy.

Don't listen to most of the reviews, this movie is definitely worth watching!

my rating: 10/10!

A deeply moving and sensuous tale of forbidden love...
10 November 2003
I saw Como agua para chocolate partway through on the spanish channel and was immediately entranced by it's raw beauty and emotion.Thank God for those subtitles or I would have moved on. It's a tale of old traditions in Mexico and Tita, the youngest daughter, is the one doomed to follow them. The tradition is that the youngest is to stay with her mother and take care of her and remain single the rest of her life while her oldest sister gets to marry. For Tita though, it's too much for her to bear having fallen in love with Pedro, the one that her sister is to marry. Later he admits to Tita that he only married her sister to be near her.The rest of the story is for you to uncover.

I have never seen a more romantic scene in any movie where Gertrudis runs from the burning shower down the road and is swept into the arms of her lover and carried away. It's a stunningly sensual film that is deeply moving. If you haven't seen it, watch it with a lover. That only adds to the romance of the story!

Entrapment (1999)
The Trap it Set
8 October 2003
Entrapment has got to be one of my favorite films. The locations are stunning along with Chris Young's movie score. There's a definite chemistry between zeta and connery and the age difference doesn't make me think less of it. Mac's attraction to Gin does seem to be a bit paternal and protective. One of my favorite scene's has got to be the end at the Pudu train station. Gin's expressions are memorable.

Sean Connery plays a master thief thought to be long retired while Katherine zeta jones is his foil, an insurance investigator assigned to his case.

It's a great action film with plenty of twists and turns. If you haven't seen it already, then rent it. You'll be surprised.

Lambada (I) (1990)
Set the night(and dance floor) on fire!
8 October 2003
It's a steamy hot movie especially for dance fans. After seeing this film, I wouldn't mind learning the Lambada from one of my teachers! It stars Kevin Laird , a Beverly hills teacher by day and a lambada dancer by night at the hot L.A. club No Man's Land where he teaches drop outs Beverly Hills math. But his Student Sandy knows nothing but his dance moves at the club.

The movie really catches your attention from the get go but Sandy's crush tends to get a bit annoying especially when Kevin flat out rejects her advances over and over again. You start to feel sorry for the guy. But the dance scenes are the best and who can forget Sandy's sexy daydream. I wouldn't mind riding a motorcycle and a man at the same time! If you loved this movie, you'll love the soundtrack as well. It'll set the night on fire!

The Secret Garden (1987 TV Movie)
A beautiful, breathtaking version of The Secret Garden
26 September 2003
Out of all the different versions of the Secret Garden films, I would have to say this is my favorite.I feel that they brought the essence of the book to life in this film. Not only was the music enchanting, but the cast was well suited. It was if they stepped right out of the novel and came to life. I would recommend this to anyone who is a fan of Frances Hodgson Burnett's the Secret Garden. It stays true to the book no matter what the critics say.

A romantic film set in paradise...
27 August 2003
I have seen Six days, Seven nights and I loved it. One of Harrison's best films in a long time. I think what did it for me was the film being set on the island of Kuaii. Quinn and Robin's personalities may have been different but it just proves that in paradise, anything can happen. I would recommend this to anyone that's looking for a light- hearted romantic comedy.
