What I've been waiting for
15 October 2022
I absolutely adore this series. To see a world as I had imagined it in my own head come to screen was absolutely exhilarating. It made me feel like my imagination is not so odd, and if it is, who cares, because everyone is a bit odd. My favorite episode was the one where we get to meet Death, and find out she's not what we feared at all. So profound and beautiful, especially when you consider it's Death, for Pete's sake. No one can take what we've all known in our childhood brains growing up and make it into something that makes at least mostly sense as Neil Gaiman can. I can't wait for Season 2.

A Witty, Fun, and Cute Adventure
1 August 2020
I found this show a wonderful combo take on sci-fi, comedy, and mystery. All the characters were quite enjoyable, (even if you were meant to hate them) and the two main characters had a rare and delightful on-screen chemistry that had my complete attention every episode.

I thought I'd check out an episode and ended up binging the whole thing, and it left me on the edge of my seat for the next season.

Definitely worth the watch.

Fun, Cute, and Witty

I really enjoyed this show. It's shows kids being kids and that working in an office is often no different from high school. The cute and witty humor and fun personalities kept me watching til the end.

*Disappointed Sigh*
17 August 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Like many of the other reviews I've read, I must agree wholeheartedly, that, while I normally support a small amount of creative liberties in the book-to-translation process, they just simply strayed way too far from the formula on this one.

V.C. Andrews is who got me reading regularly in my tweens., and inspired me to become a writer. Her books were amazing and Heaven was by far my favorite series. The films failed to show the vital significance of the small, but details details of this story. It appears that quality took a backseat to overplayed drama in this project, with overacting characters constantly being tossed at us with no real effort to show the importance of the role each of them had in developing Heaven's personality. I appreciated least Heaven's greatly downplayed picture of growing up in the backwoods.

I'd been waiting since I was 12 for these films to be made and I wish more respect had been given to the quality of what is an amazing series of stories told by an amazing writer.

Jason Priestly should have been given more to work with. He's been the best part of these films, which frankly, are so disappointing, I wish I'd never seen them. I 100% believe, even as an amateur writer, I could have done much better with translating these classic and beloved stories to film.
