Lady Ballers (2023)

An Important necessary comedy.
26 February 2024
With numerous laugh-out-loud moments, this movie proves that comedy is alive and kicking. It fearlessly tackles absurd topics, demonstrating that no subject is off-limits.

To those critiquing the acting, consider the controversial nature of the film's themes. The Daily Wire managed to assemble a cast willing to embrace these challenges, despite potential backlash in Hollywood.

Despite some unnecessary scenes and room for improvement in the writing, the film succeeds admirably given its constraints. The team at The Daily Wire deserves credit for making the most of their resources.

Comedy serves as a vital tool for critiquing and challenging societal norms and ideologies. Without it, we'd be deprived of an essential means of confronting the absurdities of the world.

F%ck yes!

As with most of the movies that I watch I do very little reading up of the story. I check the reviews and the ratings, decide if the genre will interest me, and most importantly entertain me.

This movie was entertaining and really emotional. I love a movie that sucks you in and holds your emotions captive.

This movie was great! The acting was top class and the story was compelling.

I don't have a single bad thing to say about this movie. If you enjoy great drama, action, a movie with grit, determination and heart then you will really enjoy this one.

I'd say one of the best movies in the past 5 years and probably the best streaming movie on Prime, ever.

Watch it!

Last Breath (2019)

Amazing story. Intense and emotional
22 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
"Last Breath" takes us into the fascinating realm of commercial diving, weaving a well-told plot with remarkable real-life footage from the actual event. This gripping and intense narrative left me emotionally invested throughout. I wholeheartedly give the film and its story a 9 out of 10. It's only the ship's operators' decision to perform a hard reset on the navigation computer a significant 25 minutes after the failure that detracts one point in my view. As anyone with experience in working with computers knows, when in doubt, always reboot! This oversight seems rather frustrating in an otherwise compelling tale of survival and resilience.

The Chestnut Man (2021– )

Very good but a few flaws
4 October 2021
So while we binge watched this over a few nights and enjoyed it, it's not without its flaws.

The portrayed police often were ineffective, incompetent or without backup.

Could have been a LOT better.

Good fun

Man I enjoyed this. Sure some of the concepts delivered in the movie could be debated out, but the action was solid, the cgi was top class and the acting was very good. I had a lot of fun watching this.

Excellent film. Must watch.

As a 37 year old white South African, who never really saw, felt or experienced Apartheid and the way SA was back then as I was too young, I now have a much better appreciation for all the suffering, discrimination and pain that was caused.

Nelson Madela gave up most of his adult life for a cause which has now come full circle and SA is now better off for it, mostly.

A powerful movie, that shows a man more passionate about equality and human rights than his own well being, and sadly at the detriment of his own family.

I strongly recommend every single South African to watch this movie, especially our current government!

Good laugh, Fun Movie
8 September 2013
My very first review on IMDb.

Loved this movie. Was funny and entertaining, sexy and naughty.

Only issue with the comedies now days is the use of seriously heavy language. While I am extremely broad-minded, I don't believe the use of certain discussions relating to the depth of a females vagina, and how loose she is all that hilarious, and often wonder why the writers seem to stoop to those levels. Kids of all ages are watching this, and I certainly would not want my 13 year daughter sitting next to me wondering about shallow vagina's and blow jobs... *shaking head*

Nevertheless as an adult of 37 I really enjoyed this movie.
