Deliverance (1972)
5/10
Way to slow fore the new generation
21 April 2024
The first 45 min are Way to slow fore the new generation! Rest is goog

"Deliverance" is based on a novel by American author James Dickey, of the same title. Four men who are friends plan a weekend in the outdoors from their families and jobs in the city. The setting is in Georgia, and they are going to canoe one of the roughest rivers to get to and to ride.

Only this adventure turns into a psychological nightmare. It's a griping ride down a fast and narrow river gorge. But the rapids and falls aren't the worst dangers. This is a story and film that one won't forget years after watching it. It's not for everyone. Even some who enjoy intrigue and mystery may find "Deliverance" unsettling.

It's definitely not for children, teens included. People who can readily distinguish reality from fiction and can easily move on beyond the latter, would be those most likely to appreciate this movie.

Over hyped, not good at al!!
26 December 2023
Don't believe the hype greggman21 December 2023 This is just a mediocre movie and I don't know where all the hype comes from except maybe fanboys. Go in with low expectations because if you go in expecting a 8.1 (the current IMDB rating) you're going to be sorely disappointed.

It's more serious that most monster movies, maybe that's where people think it's good, because really, how many "serious" monster movies are there. But, ... it's a relatively typically highly overacted Japanese effects movie. Ridiculous dialog and melodrama-a-plenty. If you like K-Dramas or J-Dramas and you know how soapy they are then take some scenes from those and add Godzilla and you'll know what to expect.

It's also poorly edited, at least the end, as there's a long cut to alternate scenes right at the climax, robbing the climax of any impact.

Super horror best film of the year
18 August 2023
I'm so impressed. I haven't been stricken with genuine horror and a deep feeling of dread watching a movie in so long. I am at that point in my life where I thought horror just wasn't going to do it any more, but this movie proved me wrong. Literally reignited my childhood paranormal phobia and made a cat in someones window jump scare me on the walk home. Totally fresh and unique concept with lore that has you hooked and wanting to know more. It's simplicity with no desire to wrap things up nicely or follow a simple horror formula really worked in its favour. Sound design was amazing and so sharp, in the cinema you're gonna flinch. The soundtrack was just so cool too. Just watch this in the cinema if you can please, you're in for a treat.

I am so eager to see where the promise of this director goes.

One of the best horror films I've seen in a while!
18 August 2023
The Last Voyage of the Demeter is a stone cold classic of the horror genre. It feels fresh, thrilling, absorbing, and has a brilliant concept at its core.

The way the story is set up is superb, giving a fresh spin on a somewhat tired horror trope and bringing it into the 21st century with style.

It contains a strong collection of characters with great performances behind them all and solid writing that doesn't feel cliche or tired.

Stylistically I think the film is superb, with the direction on point. There are some neat creative flourishes and a brilliant use of sound, both of which really contribute to the overall atmosphere, which is one of constant suspense and unease.

I don't think the film is particularly scary, relying more on body horror and disturbing imagery, but it is very unnerving and tense nonetheless.

Very Good fun summer Movie
5 August 2023
Very Good fun popcorn summer Movie I don't know what's wrong with these other reviews giving it a 1 or 2 rating, these people wouldn't know how to rate a movie if their lives depended on it. This movie was action from the gitgo, special effects were awesome, story line spot on, acting was 9.5, humor was throughout the movie. And I am one to concede where a movie loses credibility, even a scify movie, if there's a spot that shouldn't be there or could of been done better I'd say so, but this movie DID NOT loses credibility at all. Go and see this fun flick, and enjoy no story but entertaining!!

What a refreshing movie!
28 July 2023
What a refreshing movie!

The movie seems to be completely predictable but it's anything but predictable. No CGI to be found as well, which I found so wonderful! This is a movie to go to, squirm uncomfortably in your seat while eating popcorn at the completely bizarre on goings the movie provides.

Warning: You will talk to the characters in the movie. You will yell at them. You will say "WTF" quite a few times. Isn't that what a good movie is supposed to do?

This is like a roller coaster ride that is in the complete dark where you try to predict where and when the turn is coming. Often, your prediction will be wrong and you are completely unprepared for the jarring results when the turn comes.

I will not mention any characters, actors or any plot points. You need to go into the movie completely blind.

What a wonderful movie!

Bad,Bad bad, sentimental crap movie
16 December 2022
Cameron minions will act as if they just watched the second coming of Jesus but this movie, just like its predecessor, is nothing more than smoke. If filmmaking is all about wide shots and technological achievement then yes it is the greatest movie of all time. Unfortunately, some people enjoy deeper movies, with strong narratives, great performances, deep themes. Avatar 2 offers none of that. James Cameron has once again achieved something unparalleled: another 3h+ movie with absolutely nothing of substance. Nothing. It's the same terrible outcome the first one offered wrapped in the most beautiful package. It's enough for some but I'd like to think those with a little more intellectual curiosity will see right through the joke this movie is: Dances with Wolves in Outer Space Part II, Dumber Edition.

Old men Make boring sentimenteel Movies
15 December 2022
The story and the relationships don't work. The movie doesn't make me care about them and so I am not invested in their journey. Fury Road had much better relationships and it did it with less time and fewer words.

The character arcs don't work either. No real learning happens and the characters just wander from one scene to the next.

The antagonist doesn't work either. The central conflict feels artificial.

The fight scenes are not interesting because I don't care about the characters and they are confusing.

Boring boring boring Movie , 2,5 houers lost of Tim 1/2 houder action. Sentimentel crap.

Boring, forgettable, bad, hate the actrice, only F words!
10 December 2022
If you like the F word this is for you mikaelmadsen198110 December 2022 If you like extremely bad written dialogue, actors that are so bad at acting out that horrible dialogue, annoying 1st person perspective views and no character progression this movie is for you.

I'm having a hard time watching this for constant F bombs alone. But the dialogue is just cringe, conversations that sounds like they are written by someone who never had an adult conversation, ever.

The actors are clearly in this project for a quick cash grab, that are boring, generic and lack emotions. There's no character progression what so ever and every character from beginning to end is forgettable after 5 minutes.

An Amazing End Emotional End
21 October 2022
I don't know what people expected to see ,it was called Halloween Ends! And it ended superbly!

The movie is very dark and mysterious, nothing like the first two of this trilogy and it's not just about Myers slashing people .

It was the best of this I even ,dare to say the best of all Halloween movies.

Jamie Lee Curtis is nailing it again, I just love her. She can do anything from comedy to thriller, but Laurie Strode is somehow her best role .

This movie is dark, mysterious, Emotional, complex and very well made.

Very happy with the ending, I couldn't imagine anything else better.

I hope and wish people could just enjoy this amazing ending . EPIC!

So long Halloween,it was an amazing thrill over these 44 years. Thank you!

Drag Race Holland (2020–2021)
10/10
Sashay Fred stays!
7 October 2021
I've seen every episode produced by Ru Paul's Drag Race. Given that this is the first and second season, these Queen's are far more talented to that of the U. S. and Britain. I know the U. S. version started a long time ago and drag culture has progressed, but this definitely tops the Dutch version. The second season is a lot better hell yes! The judges aren't great but they can become great. Fred was a fantastic option, I love him in the show. He is a great and loving host. The girls clearly have talent. They can embrace their drag better because they grew up in a country that was one of the first in the world to legalize gay marriage. The Holland Queen's have much more experience being in communities that are more accepting of drag. I'm sure they won't hold ANYTHING back!

This is Bloody Bloody Amazing and Worth The Watch
17 May 2021
Spiral: From the Book of SAW isn't like the previous SAW films so don't expect to hear the iconic JIGSAW voice as seeing this is a copycat killer who's targeting corrupt cops and unlike other SAW films this movie has a decent amount of comedic moments which some might find annoying or hilarious depends on how open your mind is but as this movie is a Spinoff.

But if you're a true fan of the series then you will definitely enjoy this movie like even with the funny moments there is a lot of moments where it was very violent and I can't complain about it the gore was realistic good and also the traps were so beautiful and sick as with every other SAW film

The music oh yes the music was also very good and Charlie Clouser did come back to help with the iconic music.

So I definitely rate this movie a 10/10 I do recommend it for sure and I hope you all enjoy the movie.

Truly a masterpiece
23 August 2020
Truly a masterpiece, The Best Hollywood film of 2019, one of the Best films of the decade... And truly the Best film to bring a comic book so chillingly and realistically to real ife. Remarkable Direction, Cinematography, Music and the Acting. Some people are surprised to find it DISTURBING and VIOLENT, but it's a necessity and message. It's about society and reflects those underappreciated/unrecognized/bullied people, proving they can do something too. The way it shows class difference, corruption and how rich and talented rule others around them is not exaggerated and that's what makes it different. It's BELIEVABLE. There could be multiple JOKERs living in our society that could shake those around them in much bitter way than the film shows making people uncomforting people. Consider this a wake up call, a message, but first a film. A PERFECT film.

Starts as Hostel, than escape room/saw and ends like the Game
23 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Starts as Hostel, than escape room/saw and ends like the Game Allt those movies in one movie! This movie is just a mix between Escape room, Saw and Hostel, nothing more nothing less. The only thing they added is the 'influencer' part, but it doesn't add much and you'll probably forget it during the movie. The ending is f- up and makes the movie 'better', but you'll probably see it coming from miles away.

3 from Hell (2019)
1/10
Rob Zombie's increasingly uninspired, unoriginal and lacklustreb imagination.
9 November 2019
More adolescent, infantile rubbish from a director who clearly has a fetish for Manson family glorification. Zombie thinks you can get away with anything as long as it looks cool. Well that's unfortunate because it doesn't look cool, it looks boring.

Rob Zombie movies are always panned by critics but as a bit of a gorehound I can still enjoy films like 'House of 1000 Corpses' and 'Devil's Rejects' for what they are, unsophisticated, nasty exploitation horror. I even kind of liked his remake of Halloween despite completely missing the mark of what made the original so great.

3 From Hell is the third movie about the deranged Firefly family and it's a hot mess from start to finish. The opening news report is a taster of what you can expect from Zombie'e unsubtle and boring screenplay which gives none of the characters an interesting thing to say. Apparently at the final shootout in 'Devil's Rejects' all three of the killers survived twenty gunshots each at odds of a million to one and now languish in prison. Sid Haig could only manage to be on set for one day due to his failing health therefore we get one scene featuring Captain Spaulding before he is hastily executed to conveniently write him out of the story. As the most interesting character and performer he is sorely missed. Bill Mosley reprises his role of Otis Driftwood who escapes from his work detail when the half brother Midnight Wolfman (Rick Brace) comes to bust him out. A nasty home invasion on the prison warden gets Baby Firefly (Sheri Moon Zombie) freed and that's about it. There's no plot, no point, no social commentary, no interesting characters, just one grisly murder after another. Sheri Moon is so unbelievably annoying at trying to act crazy I would have switched this crud off had I not paid almost a fiver to rent it. Mallory Knox she ain't.

There are numerous nods to Natural Born Killers but 3 From Hell says nothing and adds nothing to modern cinema. It may well become a cult film as the two before did but it's a painfully boring watch featuring poor acting, poor writing and little else.

Itsy Bitsy Boring!!
27 September 2019
Story starts not bad, idea is ok, but this was such a pain to watch, that is hard to imagine. Slow paced horror story mixed with wannabe drama and a bit of soap love story. There are few scary ideas (seen before) runing throuhg the whole film, its just boring. Story becames a mess, and characters are really not likable, none of them. Super predictable twists. Waste of time.

Edge of your seat suspense
26 August 2019
Excellent. I don't think I've ever seen a movie like this before, which takes place almost entirely under water. And you can hear the girls talking to each other 47 meters down in the water, menaced by sharks. You were also able to see their facial expressions. First off, I only tuned in to this movie because I was bored and shark movies can be intriguing. I didn't expect much honestly, although the fact that Mandy Moore was in it was somewhat random and interesting. I gotta say...it was pretty good actually. They did a decent job on visuals and the acting and story was good enough. Very entertaining, I recommend giving it a go if you're looking for some suspense and to never enter the ocean again. In the extra, Mandy Moore said the viewer becomes even more concerned about the girls running out of oxygen than the sharks, and this is true.

There's been such a glut of shark movies in the nearly half century since "Jaws" but this one is a little bit different. It doesn't focus endlessly on sharks killing lots of people but focuses more on the relationships of the characters in the movie. Only 89 minutes so not overly long.

Ale the bad revies are from trolls!! - the moste of them are fake
8 March 2019
That's the biggest question i got after seeing the 5.6 rating (per 6th march). When i read the reviews, some of them are nonsense. They just gave a low score and they didn't review anything in it and didn't explain well about their reasons. I thought maybe some of them are the fanbase of another studio hehehe...

For me, this movie is great. It was a fun movie with good comedy and great storyline. Well the character development isn't really good, but the storyline is quite refreshing. I like the change of who is the real villain and the change of motive in this film. Sure it's not the first movie that tells story like that but it's nice they tried that way.

And this movie is the prequel to introduce Capt Marvel to the MCU before End Game, so what you expect the storyline from that? I read the imdb user's review and they said that the storyline is standard and not like they expected, so i ask what you expect from the movie that purpose only to introduce a new character for the universe and End Game. For me, it's perfect for this film to introduce Capt Marvel.

THIS is how you make a horror sequel-
21 December 2018
THIS is how you make a horror sequel, or even a sequel in general. Micheal Myers is back, and so is the genius of John Carpenter in this new visual stunner that pay a brilliant homage to the 1978 masterpiece that started this all. Anyone who appreciates good horror should enjoy this, even those who have never seen a Halloween movie. It's got great pacing, and an amazing score. Hardcore violent deaths (without relying entirely on gore to sell the scares), genuine scares (despite some being obvious and predictable), excellent cinematography (I love the slow panning and creepy shots of Micheal). They even knew when to threw in some great humor. It is a great mix of everything that we love in the horror movies we grew up with, all with a modern twist. We even get a glimpse more into the psyche of Micheal Myers. And let's not ignore Jamie Lee Curtis who totally owned it.

A new horror classic, tense and terrifying
4 November 2018
I've spent my whole life watching horror movies yet there were parts of this movie that left me in utter shock and horror, left me gasping and hoping they wouldn't go where they did. I can't praise this movie enough.. brutal, crafty, original, eerie, compelling.. just brilliant and utterly disturbing and terrifying. I can't say enough good things.

Hell Fest is one hell of a slasher flick, Fun ride!
4 November 2018
I had so much fun watching Hell Fest. The atmosphere was amazing, and that's a given (considering it's set in an amusement park), but there was something special about it. The film follows a group of people who go to the popular "Hell Fest", and as you might assume all hell breaks loose. I loved the suspense. As the killer chases after these people you can't help but feel a little tense as the claustrophobia of the attractions, and the blade of the killer come winding down on them. Hell Fest is the perfect autumn slasher and one of my favorite movies of the year!

The Endless (I) (2017)
10/10
Atmospheric, twisty strange little flick with a lot going for it
4 November 2018
I really, really liked 'the endless' It's not an easy film, and it doesn't provide easy answers. I will take strange/atmospheric/well acted/creeping dread over cookie-cutter Hollywood horror crapfest any day of the week. 'the Endless' seems to be about two guys who are at the mercy of a storyteller that wants a story to be told. Where is the story coming from? Is it on their minds? Is there a puppetmaster behind it all? Or is it just some freaky meth-withdrawal side effect kind of thing? I don't know, and I actually really appreciate the fact that this movie doesn't tell you in clear cut answers. In a way it reminded me of 'Upstream Color' in that there is a lot to think and wonder and imagine about in this film. After I've done that for a few days I'll watch it again. I hope this writer/director gives us more.
