It grows on you!
2 September 2019
I wasn't sure at first, but it does grow on you, with some very subtle and brilliant humour towards the end. I am writing this review mainly to pay homage to SIMON PEGG'S voicing of the Chamberlain. This has to be one of the best voice artist works in TV history, its hard to tell it is even Simon Pegg, but the accents and inflections are quite simply superb, and you can tell he enjoyed every minute of it!

HBO at it's very best...but there is more to the real story
4 June 2019
Brilliantly cast, ( I am a Brit, so always proud of imports) fantastically written, perfectly edited, and they got the balance and pacing almost (the dog shooting in Ep.4 a little bit much) spot on.

I do hope it spurs the viewing audience in to researching the full story of Chernobyl, the many, MANY other characters involved, such as Hans Blix. The real truth of Fomin and Bryukhanov's continued involvement during the initial response, and that too much of the "battle for chenobyl" was attributed to legasov and Boris, which in truth there were many other key people that should also be hailed as heroes.

that said the writers needed to make an entertaining drama, not a documentary and for this they couldn't have done a better job.

I recommend you read Adam Higginbotham's 2018/19 book, Midnight in Chernobyl, as this will fill in a lot of the blanks and give greater insight into the whole story
