How far will you go for justice ?
6 June 2015
Warning: Spoilers
The movie reminds us of the slums in India which was the background for Slumdog Millionaire. An issue was raised whether the slums really benefited through the box office hit movie. Still have doubts whether this did too but we can applaud the efforts of raising the question of 'how far will you go to ensure justice?'or in the words of the movie 'because its right'. Hope this movie will expose the corruption in the law enforcement agencies around the world and the lone struggle of few people who are standing up for justice in these societies. Are you one of them or are you that person turning a blind eye? its a fact that the poor when received will give out most of it and the rich will always try to hoard.

A very touching story line which is created around a family.

Warning: Spoilers
I remember feeling in a similar way when I finished watching A Walk to Remember. The whole picture of death leaves us in tears and with the question of why did she have to die? Can people find any meaning to death? is it the end of existence? Anna ends saying that she hopes she will meet her sister again, is their another paradigm of existence after death? Is their anything wrong with the stand the mom took for her daughters protection? Do you feel that Kate should have fought more? What is the whole purpose of living? We are going to die someday. Is the quality of life measured by how long we live? Movies like this and Slumdog Millionaire makes me wonder if we end up with an emotional high and just forget about the fact that these things really happen. Does a portion of the profit gained by this movie go to treat cancer patients? The movie is based on a book by Jodi Picoult which ends differently..When Anna gets her emancipation she dies in a car crash and kidneys are anyway given away to Kate. I'm wondering why the story line was changed and Kate had to die. What if Anna didn't die of a car crash but died in the Kidney transplant operation. Maybe its too much of a tale to believe that she sacrificed her self for her sister. Sacrifice seems as something very unusual and makes us wonder why? Maybe because we don't how to respond to such love. What if someone underwent a punishment that we were supposed to go through or someone was wrongly accused and killed when I was the real culprit. How do we respond?

So this is Love ?
25 April 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Ladies !!! Do you want this man to be your lawfully wedded husband ? Isn't Henry Roth the most romantic guy? I wonder if doing this film made Adam Sandler think of his own relationship and improve on it. I felt very challenged by his persistence and determination for the sheer fact that this might be what women expect. Or is it? Is this the mark set by women for all men? Does watching this make single women feel that "I know he is out their somewhere". Do you think Henry would have gone through all this if Lucy was not attractive? It was amazing to see Lucy's father and brother going through the routine everyday just to keep Lucy happy. Does dads and brother like Lucy's exist? They actually do. The love and care of the family structure is one thing realistic about this movie. Have you ever thought how hard it must be to look after a disabled child or a child who is mentally handicapped? tendency is to identify with Lucy and wish that someone would love us but isn't it the other way around? Lucy however finds a husband to love her and take care of her but aren't their so many like Lucy who are waiting to be accepted by society and waiting to be loved by someone? Does the movie challenge you to be sensitive to people like Lucy?

A story of an Underdog
7 October 2012
We get to see quite a number of movies especially related to some sport with underdogs coming on top of the champs but this for me was real life. This could be any one of us at the bottom of the pyramid chasing the middle class dream of a job in the city, better salary, better home , a nice set of wheels etc. Maybe we can throw in a thinner body to the above list since the character Clyde was portrayed to be fat. The other 3, were the stereotypes; a wannabe rock star, a drunkard and the man with a criminal record plus he's black. The character of the boss seems so real, a middle class gentleman, lonely, and trying to project an image of a profitable business by cutting corners which have illegal tendency. The reality portrayed in this movie with the effort being put in to make the characters seem to relevant and close deserves an 8/10.
