Try as I might, I just couldn't enjoy this film!

I'm pretty easy going when it comes to comedies , it doesn't take too much to get me to laugh, and I usually enjoy a good Christmas movie but this was just bad! The premise for the movie interested me but it wasn't too far in, that both my husband and I were saying how dumb this film was! The chemistry between Witherspoon and Vaughn was terrible. Their personalities were not exactly likable. The jokes were not very funny. The only scene I actually enjoyed was the wrestling scene between Vaughn and his brothers. I always enjoy Jon Favreau. This movie did nothing to get me in the Christmas spirit. With such an all star cast, very disappointing!

Hilarious!!!!!!

I was worried because the reviews were so good, and sometimes when expectations are high going in, you are disappointed! But this was not the case here!!! This movie was hilarious from beginning till end!!! Kristen was awesome, believable, relate-able. Melissa Mc Carthy stole the show for sure!!! This movie was over 2 hours, but it did not seem too long at all. There was never a dull moment! I saw this twice, once with girlfriends and once with my husband and another couple. The second time, my friend's husband was laughing louder than any woman in the theater!! There is raunchy jokes, potty humor and language in this film. If you are not into that, you may not enjoy this! Personally I loved it and would could watch this again and again!!!

Terrible!!!

This movie made me forget what I liked about the first one!!! This sequel was terrible!!!! The plot was so stupid, from the very beginning to the end I was thinking, "Why on earth did they make this movie at all??!!" All the charm of the first film was missing from this one!!! I think people in the theater laughed maybe twice! The jokes were not funny at all! Even my young daughter thought it was bad! With such an all star cast, it was a big let down. There have only been maybe 2 times in my 40 year life that I walked out of the theater feeling I wasted my money, and this was one of them! Honestly I wouldn't even waste my $1.00 on this at Redbox!

Watching this made me think of 2 things: "How far you have fallen Brendan Fraser", and "Brooke, what were you thinking???!!!!" I love family films and went in with an open mind but this was so bad!!! This movie made even Brooke Shields look like a bad actress, which she is not! The jokes were so lame, the animal vengeance scenes ridiculous. I can't even say enough of how bad this movie was!!!! I could see it appealing to very young children, that might find the animal humor amusing. But my kids' were 6 and 8 when we saw this and even they thought it was bad! I would have walked out mid way through, but figured I would see it through since I had paid $20.00! I can usually find some humor and enjoyment out of most family films but with this one, I could not!!!!

I wasn't exactly expecting an Oscar worthy film here, and after reading all the bad reviews I was a bit nervous but actually enjoyed this movie as much as to be expected!! First let me say I am 40 years old and was a huge Smurfs fan as a kid. So naturally I wanted to take my 2 kids to see this! I thought the movie was about what I expected it to be!!! It was cute, had a few laughs and cute moments. I thought Neil and Jayma were a very cute, believable couple. I thought Hank Azaria was very good as Gargamel. The plot was predictable of course, but there were definitely some funny moments, things kids would find amusing! There were quite a few laughs from the audience during the film. As a big Project Runway fan, I was pleased to see Tim Gunn in a small roll in this movie. Funny enough, Top Chef judge Tom Colliccio also had a cameo. I always enjoy movies that are set in NY, and not unlike Enchanted there were a few sights of the city in this film that I enjoyed! I did not enjoy this as much as Alvin and the Chipmunks, but liked it more than Hop. Overall, if you have young kids, there should be enough in this film to keep them amused.

Really Funny!

I went into this movie with no expectations and was very surprised at how much I enjoyed it! Funniest movie I have seen in a long time!! Yes,the plot was far fetched, and over the top at times, but hey it's a comedy, it's Adam Sandler,it's fiction, it's supposed to be silly!! Don't over think it, just enjoy! I was laughing out loud from the opening scene to the very end!!! Jennifer Aniston was very likable in this movie. The chemistry between her and Sandler was really good! All the supporting characters were funny too. This was one of my Adam Sandler movies for sure! I could watch this movie more than once easily!!

I am surprised at all the bad reviews. I loved this movie!!!! I went with a group of about 10 girlfriends...we laughed from beginning to end!! Afterwards, we couldn't stop talking about it! The movie had drama, romance, humor,and of course the most important staple of the show: true friendship!! I thought they picked up where the story left off from the series perfectly, and maintained the personalities of the characters well. I purchased the DVD and even my husband sat through it without complaining!!! I thought they wrapped up the storyline well, and was actually surprised they made a sequel. Not that I'm complaining! I gladly paid to see that too! :)
