Your Highness (2011)
Great Vulgar Humor
When I saw the trailers for this movie, I expected a decently funny movie with not much more than a couple laughs. My prediction was spot on: except instead of just a couple of laughs, I got tons. Your Highness was incredibly funny- though the humor was vulgar. The humor in this movie matched with the likes of Step Brothers, Pineapple Express, Role Models, etc.. This movie is no Godfather but it's not supposed to be, it's supposed to be a comedy jammed with crude sex jokes and absolutely retarded characters. The humor in this movie is extremely spontaneous, I guarantee none of the scenes or jokes are ones that you've seen before. On top of the great comedy, there is a great cast. Natalie Portman portrays a lone warrior very well, while James Franco portrays the honorable, brave, and adored Prince. Then there is Danny McBride who delivers his part extremely well with all sorts of jokes and stupidity. Another actor I would like to mention is a relatively unknown actor, Rasmus Hardiker who plays Courtney, Danny MacBride's servant. He played his part brilliantly and I found myself laughing at most of his scenes. All in all, if you're looking for another movie that will lighten up the mood and produce A LOT of laughs, this is the movie for you. If you want a movie to provoke your thoughts, then this is the dead opposite of what you want to watch. However, I think that this was one of the best comedic movies of the year and therefore I give it a 10/10.
Camelot (2011)
Worth Watching
When I first watched Camelot, I went in with doubts. Like many critics have said, Bower is much too feminine a role to play the legendary King Arthur. Putting this into consideration I thought that Camelot would be a pointless show aimed at the same crowd as the Twilight fans. After watching the first episode, I felt myself drawn and completely absorbed into the story. Starz adds a new perspective to the old King Arthur tales. We get a detailed look at how Camelot comes to be and we see how the founding characters influence it's creation. If looked at without bias, I feel Bower does a good job as Arthur as we see a care free boy transform into a fearless leader. Joseph Fiennes does a fantastic Merlin, one I've never seen before, and Eva Green gets "exposed" multiple times in the season for you perverted men out there. Camelot is a show with lots of potential, a good cast, and a strong plot (especially because of a huge twist in the season finale). All in all, if watched without a preformed bias towards Jamie Bower, Camelot is a show definitely worth watching.
