Answer the Frozen Call!
6 April 2024
I really enjoyed this new Ghostbusters film! Unlike some people,I actually like this better than Afterlife!! I don't dislike the Spengler family, but Afterlife felt like a really long boring episode of Stranger Things with GB elements. This feels like a real Ghostbusters movie to me,and it's got an entirely brand new villain. It has cheesy elements that reminded me of Answer the Call though. The Indian guy is sort of annoying and felt unnecessary though. Replace him with Dana Barrett or Louis Tully or even Holtzmann coming through to lend a hand on the ghostbusting, and this movie would be perfect. Heck even any of the characters from Filmation Ghostbusters would have been better than that guy. I did like Podcast in this movie more too. Wished it went a little bit longer and Venkman should have had more dialogue, but I felt goosebumps when he and Walter Peck were on the same screen together. Atherton looking a bit like Vincent Price in his old age. Funny there were vape shop reference too as I was vaping the whole time while watching in the theater lol. Slimer was awesum, and also time to bring back Ecto Cooler. If you downvote on this you're just a herp derpin ahole square and I don't care cuz I'm definitely gonna watch this again 2 more times! Oh and Ernie Hudson will be appearing on my radio show soon, really excited about that.

Best Disney since Beauty And The Beast
24 November 2023
Beautiful movie. I was actually in goosebumps and tears during many of the scenes. The animation is amazing. Very good animation with powerful score. My bf took me to see this today and I ate shrooms beforehand and the special effects of this had me laughing and in tears so much. Don't think a Disney movie moved me this much since Alladin! This is a new Disney classic, and Asha is a great heroine while Magnifico a sorta creepy villain. I love the detail of the animation as I was peaking. Very intense and thought it also reminded me of Don Bluth's stuff. Lol!! Great 100 anniversary movie that gave me goosebumps throughout =)

Historical Barbie Film
8 August 2023
As someone who played with the dolls growin up,the in-jokes and references to some rare Barbie variations and playsets are funny. The political message gives Barbie a new dimension I never thought would go to. I felt a hidden anti-war message in it actually which is deep for a toy I never thought would be taken that serious. Makes sense in order to explain the historical connotations about the franchise's history, but on rewatch I'll fast forward to the cheesy funny parts. Would I watch it again? Probably!!!!!!!! Especially after eating a pot cookie, bet this movie would look crazier! After watching I feel I'm on a Barbie kick and searching for the toys.

Final chapter in Indiana Jones saga
18 July 2023
Saw the earlier films in the theater. Never seen Crystal Skull. This however seemed spotty at best. A little too long for my taste, and agree with some others it definitely has a darker and more depressing vibe. The only thing I like about it is Indiana Jones himself, his humor is the only thing that saves this, and the only thing that kept me from falling asleep(and the Sallah and Marion cameos are sorta cool, but don't like the other characters though). It also uses the time travel cliche similar to Back to the Future. Another summer '23 film The Flash seemed to use this gimmick alot better, but with Indiana Jones it doesn't feel it quite fits. Which made the ending for me feel a little too rushed and a cheap way to end the whole saga. I think I prefer to see the Nazis faces melting again, but going back in time seemed not very believable and dumb. Also such a high and disturbing killcount for a Disney film. Wasn't aware Mickey Mouse was into such senseless killing. The ending of Rise of Skywalker was way better than this, and that's saying alot! #also anyone downvoting this review is an annoying ahole like Dr. Voller.

Crazy DC superhero movie...
26 June 2023
..that somehow connects most other DC movies. It's so epic to see Michael Keaton back as Batman. He really did steal the show. Imo nobody else can capture the true emotion of Bruce Wayne like Keaton can. Even in the scenes where he's not saying anything, but still showing emotion, gives alot more depth to the character in a way only Keaton can convey that. It's crazy he's even in the same movie as Ben Affleck. Ezra Miller as Flash/Barry Allen gives a crazy performance. It's not perfect by any means but damn I loved how all the different universes connected. It has a perfect balance of action and comedy.40 years after Superman III and the comedic element surely has evolved to blend in with the action better imo. The CGI didn't bother me that much. If only Val Kilmer and Christian Bale also made an appearance than this movie would be really perfect. Definitely gonna watch again, and has put me in a real DC superhero movie kick now.

Aykroyd and Murphy in their prime
23 May 2023
Forgot how much of a Christmas type movie this actually is,but watching during springtime doesn't bother me. The acting and the storyline is still interesting no matter what time. Early 80s had many movies like this(Arthur, The Toy,etc) displaying that 80s rich people culture. Nice to see Jamie Lee Curtis,Dan Aykroyd and Eddie Murphy in their primes. Everyone is good in this movie. I love the New Year's party towards the great ending. The scene that involves two gorillas and Al Franken is hilarious. It also has some nudity and drug humor. Classic 80's movie! After this Dan would hit it big with Ghostbusters and Eddie hit it big with Beverly Hills Cop. PS- If you downvote on this it must mean ur an ahole! F-ckoff!!

Combining Corny with Creepy
11 February 2023
Caught this on TV again lately. I love how out of place Kirk Douglas and Farrah seem in this. Two actors imo that don't seem to fit into a film like this. It adds to the confusing and claustrophobic atmosphere though. Nice sets that look like they could also work in Star Wars films. While watching this I couldn't help but imagine Luke Skywalker et al walking through those corridors. The robot villain seems creepy, but it's also full of cringe. Like some evil Lost in Space reject. Love the part when Kirk threw a plastic waste basket at the robot. Like ok,they could've used a cooler weapon like a light saber or something but a waste basket from Office Depot was interesting. Harvey Keitel is also in it. Also seems like a weird episode of Battlestar Galactica on acid. They should've made a toy line for this. I'll probably watch it again.

Classic Iconic 70's Slasher Film
14 January 2023
Saw this on rare CED format lately. I've seen it before many times. Something about the atmosphere always gets to me. It's eerie but not that super scary until Leatherface goes off towards the end! Marilyn Burns screaming and real blood getting cut up running through the forest..Relying on atmosphere and good acting instead of CGI makes this one more realistic imo. Terri McMinn is a good friend of mine too. It's also like Scooby Doo on a real bad acid trip. There's definitely some comic relief, and most of the time wasn't that scared, but not until the end at least. This movie shocked so many!!!!!

Hilarious early 80s time capsule
10 August 2022
If you're into movies like Dazed & Confused,Stoned Age,Over the Edge,Foxes, etc, this will be right up your alley. Seen this over 20 times, and yet certain scenes still remain funny after so many viewings. For instance the "swimming pool" scene is one of the funniest in film history, and will remain funny for a very very longtime. Judge Reinhold is a legend!!!!

Walter Matthau plays 3 different characters, each convincing it's a different person. My favorite segment is the one with Barbara Harris though. Great chemistry those two had in that scene! Maureen Stapleton was kinda funny too,but by the third act I got bored and turned it off. Maybe I'll finish it soon.

Dudley Moore channeling Keith Moon
25 June 2022
One thing that struck me though while watching... Arthur has a Keith Moon vibe so was Moore channeling Moon? Must be that hair. I think they look similar, and act similar. Anyways they won't make a movie like this today with the main character drunk driving. It's crazy how he's able to drive safely to his destinations without crashing. That wasn't the only unrealistic thing about this... Liza Minelli going shoplifting in an ugly bright yellow coat and red hat? Who the hell does that lol. I read somewhere Gilda Radner was asked to play the role of Linda. Imo she would've been better than Liza. Hobson is such an epic butler. A tale about love versus money. I didn't find it that funny, but I do like the moral of the story. Sometimes love is stronger than any money in the world. I can picture Al Pacino nailing this role too,but seems like he took that and made Scarface instead. Love the soundtrack alot too,Christopher Cross rocks lol.

Teen Wolf (1985)

Between Family Ties and Back to the Future...
19 June 2022
Michael J Fox is epic as the wolf! Forget the recent one and the Jason Bateman one, this is the real Teen Wolf imo. Yes it is cheesy in some parts, but it has a good moral. It's cheesy how they can live in harmony with this wolf character and not be scared of him? How did this get a PG rating in the first place anyways?! Lol. Imo this movie isn't for kids. With all the underage drinking, drug and sex references going on I was thinking this is probably R rated...There's even an easter egg scene where some guy unzips his fly. It's crazy how I saw this in 4th grade even. Stiles is a crazy party guy who makes the wolf sniff out a weed stash, and wears funny douchy t-shirts(LIFE SUCKS THEN YOU DIE)...Boof is the good girl while Pamela the bad one...The soundtrack rocks. An 80's classic and one that propelled MJF into stardom along with Back to the Future! My favorite basketball themed movie next to Space Jam even. If you have a crush on Michael J Fox this movie is really good..

Wow this one isn't too bad. It took me by surprise actually to find out it's also a comedy? At first I thought it was going to be similar to Class of 1984,but this movie has comedic elements, which I don't mind. Nice to see a pre- Back to School Robert Downey Jr.(called just Robert Downey here.) Attractive people all around on this flick. Has it's share of sex and violence. Crazy movie!!

The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes meets Porkys!
11 June 2022
At least that's the vibe I get. Seems like I've seen this way too many times. Saw it again yesterday on CED and it still holds up! Great movie to watch on a hot summer day. It has a made for TV movie feel to it. Some of the jokes are very hilarious, and some scenes had me giggling really hard. Scatman Crothers is hilarious in this! So is Baio actually. Great performance by Heather Thomas too. The special fx looks cheap, but I would compare those to Cheech and Chong's Next Movie type of special effects. Also love the appearances of Eddie Deezen who is actually a good friend of mine and has appeared in my own podcast. This movie rules!!!

A pre-Ghostbusters Aykroyd!! Worth seeing..
6 June 2022
I saw this yesterday on the CED movie disc format.1983 seemed like a strange year for films. You had the Man With Two Brains starring Steve Martin, and then this starring Dan Aykroyd. Mad scientist type movies seemed all the rage, and drug humor was also popular then. This movie seems to blend those aspects with an extra funky disco pimp type vibe. This movie is hilarious, and nice to see Dan go all out! It's like watching Ray Stanz before he joined Ghostbusters. Also love the appearance from a pre-Spinal Tap Fran Drescher and WKRP's Howard Hesseman. There's alot of pot smoking in this also, and that's always entertaining to see.

Early 80s drug humor
21 May 2022
Saw this again recently on VHS(also own it on Beta),and it's really hilarious. They wouldn't get away with making a movie this crazy today. I bet people would try to ban it if it was released today. It's like Cheech and Chong meets Airplane! Alot of sex and cocaine jokes. Love the Elvira cameos...Mark Blankfield's tour de force for sure. He's on fire in this flick! Can't believe it's the same guy who played Blinkin in that Robin Hood movie. The actress Krista Errickson(Ivy) is also great in this movie. Too bad she hates the movie in real life and thinks she should have chosen to work in Flashdance instead. No way, this movie is way better than boring Flashdance. She made the right choice imo! Some British humor thrown in this movie for good measure even. Only thing that seems dated are the special FX(you can visibly see the wires holding up certain things in midair during some scenes). Otherwise this movie is so epic. It should've been as big as Star Wars, and Blankfield is a comic hero along the lines of Andy Kaufman,Jim Carrey,etc...

PTA = Scorsese of the 1990's?
9 April 2022
They should have left the outtake scenes in,especially the one where they're sitting around a glass table snorting coke. Whenever I watch this I kinda sneak in that outtake in between. PTA's tour de force.... The opening crane shot swooping into the Hot Traxx disco with The Emotions blaring so loud gives me goosebumps everytime. It really makes you feel you're inside 1977,and then the progression from that into the early 80's scenes is amazing. If Tarantino is Coppola of the 90s than PTA is Scorsese of the 90s imo. Especially with this film... Like Clockwork Orange though I feel the first half is great, and the second half is where it gets depressing and more serious. Good coke movie along with the likes of Jekyll & Hyde Together Again!!

Better than All in the Family...
1 April 2022
In All in the Family,Archie was just some couch potato humorous bigot, constantly arguing with his daughter's hippie boyfriend. In this he seems more matured, maybe still conservative, but very reflective and more in tune with world views.

Disappointed Edith got written out,and neither Sally Struthers nor the Meathead are even mentioned or appear. However we also see Archie in a cooler setting than just his own home. His own pub bar complete with interesting patrons and even a pinball machine. I love the actress who plays the waitress too. Took me a few viewing, but I think I like this better than All in the Family. Archie still acts like a curmudgeon here, but the character goes much deeper in this series.

Sweathogs! lol
7 March 2022
Been recording the series lately on Antenna TV. Haven't seen it since the 90s when I first saw it when I was little. Great show that helped launch the career of the great John Travolta!

My only gripe is asides from a few actors who looked young for their parts, some look super old. Like okay I get it's from an era where adults played teen parts alot in films, but wow they look like they 30 years old still in high school. Small annoyance though as they act pretty good for their parts regardless. Sort of a precursor to that 70s Show also. I get Dazed & Confused vibes as well.

Low budget,but good B-movie fun
7 March 2022
This feels like an indirect sequel to Jekyll & Hyde...Together Again(1982). It's similar that they both star Mark Blankfield and take place mostly in a hospital setting. This feels alot like Jekyll but with less drug humor and more sex humor. Some genuine light horror scenes, and some scenes are very hilarious. Love the appearance of the actress Bunky Jones, she is my favorite B-movie horror actress I think. The low budget is the only thing that hurts this, otherwise a really underrated late 80's comedy!

My favorite film of the Naughties era
6 March 2022
Funny film to watch on shrooms lol. One of Bill Murray's best ones, but crazy how he turned down offers for potentially better Ghostbusters 3 movies for this. I can forgive him though, because just like the original Ghostbusters 1984 movie he pulls another tour de force with this one.

Slow paced in some parts, but the jokes and mannerisms are absolutely hilarious, Love the nod towards Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai at the end. Cool soundtrack.

80s Classic!
6 March 2022
The funniest of all Ghostbusters movies and arguably the best one. I always thought the script in this is so brilliant and will go down in history as one of the best.

I still prefer the 2nd overall, but you can't go wrong with this one.

Has the best soundtrack of all the GB movies too. Own it on rare 8-track tape. My favorite scene I think is when they're trying to bust Slimer in the hotel. Sucha funny scene. Bill Murray's tour de force. Say what you will but technically this is his best film. Even better than Lost in Translation, etc that came later.

My favorite GB film of the entire series...
6 March 2022
Can't believe this is rated the lowest on IMDB out of all the other GB movies,no way! Even lower than the much maligned(but misunderstood) Answer The Call(2016) and lame Afterlife.

Never understood the complaints about this one. Saw it in the theaters, and seen it many times since and still remains my all-time favorite GB movie and imo the best one.

Everyone's at their peak here in this film, even moreso than the first. The whole cast looks great in this, and the look is even more iconic than the other films. The only weak link may be the new villain, and the fact that the pacing isn't as punchy as the first film. Nonetheless I love the romance between Louis Tully and Janine lol,and the Ghostbusters never looked as good. Sadly this is the last time we see the original crew until the 2009 game. There are some good horror scenes in this thrown for good measure, what's not to love??? Best Ghostbusters movie. The most memorable for me and has one of the best soundtracks.

Misunderstood Cult Classic..Hated by Legions of GB "Fanboys"...
6 March 2022
When I first saw this in 2016 I wondered what the huge uproar online was all about. Seems like this got alot of hate for nothing, and most people who hated it didn't even really watch it or were just insecure toxic males who couldn't fathom and accept how awesome this movie really is.

It feels like a real Ghostbusters movie to me and that's all that matters. It's got alot of humor, and alot of action. Even more action scenes than the first movie. Only difference is that the crew is all women. Funny how these dumb haters managed to retcon this into Ghostbusters:Afterlife which is far worse and yet gets more acceptance. Sorry but I don't watch movies to see fan service, I prefer to them to be unpredictable like this one. It's a shame they left the better ending to Afterlife though, but as a movie as a whole this is much more satisfying. Anybody who doesn't agree with this review also is most likely just an ahole.

If You Hated ANSWER THE CALL...
2 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
More than likely you like this?! Lol

The first half is full of cringe, even moreso than the 2016 film. It felt more like a depressing slow drama film during the start. Didn't feel like a real Ghostbusters movie to me. The 2016 film is funnier than that even, and isn't that what the true spirit of GB is supposed to be? Yet suddenly we're forced to believe in this drama. Why did Egon end up living on a depressing farm dump? We're only supposed to care because these are his grandkids,okayyy..I felt like fast forwarding it to the good parts. These kids are kind of annoying..

Maybe should have because the ending is actually decent. The film really builds up to it,but tbh the last scene when we see the real Ghostbusters reunited onscreen is all we really need. Don't think I'm gonna rewatch the first half much cuz it kinda sucked, but the ending was definitely emotional with the appearance of Egon,it really threw me off guard. The only thing I don't like about it is how they re-use Gozer. They should have made a new villain entirely. The romantic sideplot with the Mary Kay Letourneau looking mom and annoying bearded dork science teacher is lame, but funny how it comes all together as some sort of a counterpoint in the plot using the Gatekeeper/Keymaster gag. But what was the point though? I don't get it...And yet people have the nerve to complain about Answer the Call? Which was a funnier movie in tone. Just fast forward it to the parts where Peter Venkman shows up and reunite with the boys onscreen. Someone should make a mashup of this movie plus Answer The Call,it would make a better Ghostbusters 3 imo. Holtzmann Vs. Podcast...who was more annoying obviously?? I love all Ghostbusters movies but don't think this was better than Ghostbusters 2,and the ending of this really should've been the ending of the 2016 movie. Overall I didn't find the premise with the kids too believable. Too bad the cancel culture rejects Answer the Call,a far funnier and more true GB film than this borring wokefest! Face it,this was only really made just to please the dumb Ghostbusters fanboys who only hated the 2016 film just because they are just soo jealous of female Ghostbusters. Holtzmann should have been written as the relative of Egon's instead. Don't think I like this Phoebe character in comparison. Also this one breaks away from tradition of the first 2 and even 2016 films by not using actors from the SNL comedy realms. The use of Stranger Things actors, and setting the GB universe in a more dramatic and darker tone really takes away the spirit of the original films. It gives it a "reality show" vibe to it also which I really hate. I hate seeing Youtube in movies also like wtf is the point?! Stupid. Also no explanation as to what happened to Louis Tulley?? And what was the point of Dana Barrett's appearance at the end?? I'll rewatch the ending, but the first half of this sucks and no way is it better than Answer the Call.
