Einsatzgruppen, les commandos de la mort (2009)
One of the best
This is one of the best documentaries I've seen about the events during WW2 in Europe.
I am a WW2 buff (as a lot of people are) army brat who grew up in Germany and have read countless books and watched many documentaries on the subject. This docu is the kind you want to watch - it's thorough, has first hand accounts, shows footage from the time - footage that isn't as widely seen too; I saw photos and video footage I've never seen before ...
it's not censored at all, which I appreciate too. In order to understand the chaos and destruction of the time, we need to see it and hear it - every horrible detail and image so as to make sure something like this doesn't happen again. This documentary shows all of that and more. I found it sad, informative and very interesting. Especially the stories from those who were just ordinary people who had to see this happen and could do nothing to stop it.
While I believe children need to know about this, I will say it IS quite graphic, so I suggest not watching with little ones around.
Give this doc a watch, especially if you are interested in the subject. It is not like any of the countless other docs I've seen - it brings different information and images that will be sure to inform and surprise you.
Hot Ones: Shia LaBeouf Sheds a Tear While Eating Spicy Wings (2019)
The best.
Seriously love this episode of Hot Ones. It's great. Shia is charismatic and real and seems to genuinely love being on the show. The banter between the host and him is lovely, too. There are some great moments and little nuggets sprinkled in as well as a few burning (lol) questions you have always wondered about him. He seems to be doing well in his private life as well, despite what we see on social media and in the news. My take is that he is just a guy who's had a lot happen to him, and he's trying to right a lot of wrongs.
I've watched this episode a few times and it never gets old! Give it a shot.
Preaching Evil: A Wife on the Run with Warren Jeffs (2022)
Crazy.
This documentary is well done and very eye opening. The sickest part of it all (aside from the assault on minors) is that Naomi Jeffs not only sympathizes with Warren Jeffs, but seems to still believe that he is innocent. It shows how delusional some of the people in FLDS are. It's so sad and just so disturbing. Naomi Jeffs is just as sick as Warren, and should have been as equally responsible. Especially since she was a witness to it ALL.
