The movie looks great and it really looks like the early 1700's. But after that, let me put it this way a really good film doesn't have you looking at your watch and moaning that so little time has past since you last looked. I like historical movies, I can deal with slow, even movies most people regard as boring. The problem here is not much happens, all the characters are horrible people and there is no pay off, there is no reason to actually watch the movie. It's not funny, it's not poignant, it's not historical, it's not erotic. What it is, is a missed opportunity and a big disappointment.

Good for a low budget movie

There is no getting around the fact that this is a low budget movie, but having said that I think the other reviewers are being way to harsh. The thing I really like about the movie is that it looks and sounds like it takes place when and where it does. The soldiers look like soldiers on frontier duty, instead of coming straight from the wardrobe department. The combat is more realistic than heroic and at the heart of the movie is a morality play. It is a slice of life movie than anything else and I find that interesting. One final note is that it is a movie where race is important, but it has no axe to grind.

The Krays are infamous criminals who have had a lot written about them. This documentary details their background, their criminal career and their downfall. Interspersed within is an interview with Reggie Kray done days before his death.
This documentary was done long enough after the events that the people involved were prepared to talk. But soon enough that so many of them were still alive. This was a good overview of people I had heard of but that I didn't know much about. Well worth checking out if your interested in this subject.

I bought this in the $5 bin so I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's focus is on the Australian and New Zealand troops on the Western Front in WWI. It presents the history at the strategic, operation and personnel level. I understand why the other reviewers didn't like it, but I totally disagree with them. The graphics helped show how the modern terrain they are on was different in WWI. It also demonstrates the movement of troops. I found it informative and anyone who is interested in the Western Front should check this out.

This was much better than I expected, I expected to go to some unusual places but all of the locations were unknown to me. I found out things that I did not know in each episode. It was well shot with some really beautiful scenery.
