After Life (2019)
We get it your wife is dead
Even though the seasons are short at some point the repetitive formula gets old. Sad music, he watches a video of his wife while petting his dog, he walks out of his house, uplifting musing, he insults pretty much everyone including those trying to help him. He comes back home pissed off. Watches a video of his wife. REPEAT. It was fine for 1 season and 2 was a stretch. But now we're on season 3 and he's still a grumpy pretentious prick who we only feel sorry for because he lost his wife. It's a bit frustrating to watch especially..
Drive (2011)
I Tried
I really tried to like this movie but honestly it was pretty strange. First of all there's no real story. I feel no connection to any of the characters or the acting. Gosling is this weird arrogant silent guy that we never learn much about. All the other characters are quite cliché. The coincidence is also pretty strange that Gosling happened to live in the same floor as the guy he wants to help with money problems is actually in dirty business with the guy sponsoring Gosling. Plus the movie is called "drive." I expected to see little more stunts than just unrealistic and unnecessary handbrake spinning in only one scene. The filming and setting were the only good things about this movie. Not even the music was catchy. I feel like I've been have a strange plot less and lifeless dream while watching this movie. NO substance at all and strange acting i will rate this movie maximum a 6.8. I don't understand what the hype is and why people are going crazy about it. It really is something just to pass time let alone a masterpiece. As if everything mentioned wasn't bad enough the violence is just downright ridiculous and again unnecessary. Who is one second kiss a girl romantically and the next second bashing someones skull open. I don't even know what else to say, this is a movie i will remember for being slow and strange.
How to Be a Gentleman (2011)
I liked it
So here comes a new series called "How to be Gentleman." The title might be slightly misleading considering we are being shown how NOT to be a gentleman so far. David Hornsby does not do much to the show for me and kind of reminds me of Neil Patrick Harris of which I'm not a big fan of. His lines are corny and his comedy is based mainly on gimmicks. I didn't feel much need to laugh at anything he said. Kevin Dillan on the other hand is someone you either hate or love, and I absolutely love his humor and way of acting. If you're a fan of entourage its takes some time to get your head around and get used to him being in a different show. Although his role in entourage is legendary, it seems perhaps he could do wonders for this show as well. If it wasn't for him i wouldn't be looking forward to the next episode but now I am eager to see more of him and whether or not he can maintain my interest for this show. The show definitely has potential.
