The Mandalorian: Chapter 22: Guns for Hire (2023)
Season 3, Episode 6
5/10
What are we even doing anymore?
7 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
So what has been the point of Din with the Darksaber when he ends up just handing it to Bo due to a loophole? No point of view on anything happening for Grogu? What was the point of episode 3 and episode 5, showing the ineffectiveness of the New Republic and Empire infiltration? Where is Moff Gideon? Who freed him? I have lots of questions, there is no momentum and 2 episodes left. I'm frustrated and losing confidence in this show.

After episode 3 really thought Mandalorian was heading in an interesting direction, and we were going to start tying all these threads together regarding who created Snoke and cloned Palpatine, but now I have no idea what the point of anything is anymore.

The Terminal List (2022– )

It earns your patience
4 July 2022
It has some of the most surprising and brutal action scenes I've seen anywhere. Chris Pratt does the best he can with an underwritten part. The story has twists and turns. I don't usually write reviews here but I think the critics were far too hasrh and maybe biased against Pratt. This is a good story. There certainly are some cheesy and overly dramatic scenes, lots of "bro" talk (they're Navy SEALs, it's fine) and some gun porn, but if you like John Wick you'll be satisfied by The Terminal List.

Almost a very good movie

It's a bit too long, with uneven pacing. It drags in spots, yet when it's good, it's brilliant. Maybe my disappointment comes from too high expectations. To be clear, it's not bad at all. It just feels like it could have been so much more.

Eternals (2021)

It's better than people want it to be.
4 November 2021
Took my family last night, wife, and two girls, ages 14 and 11. The 11 year old is always fidgety during movies and sat still for 2.5 hours. She loved it. I had some trepidation after seeing so many reviews that seemed to suggest this was a miss for Marvel. All I can say is, I think it's unique, deep, and incredibly satisfying. It opens new doors and new stories for the MCU, and I cannot wait to see what happens next. If you love MCU movies and you're not homophobic, you will probably enjoy Eternals. Last thought: it is a bit too long. It has some pacing issues, but beyond that just go see it for yourself. Make up your own mind.

Not an easy watch, but a necessary one

If you are familiar with Darrell Hammond, you almost feel like you owe it to him to at least give him 90 minutes to hear his story. It's a heart wrenching story laced with optimism and hope for us all. You might learn something about yourself.

Draft Day (I) (2014)

Underrated
16 May 2020
Yes the draft math and fantasy trade scenarios are totally unrealistic, but that's what makes it so fun. It's a well made movie, with brisk pacing and scenes that will make you smile. It's a good time.
