Amazing! Great story telling that builds
14 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Wonderful story of vengeance, love and eventually growth, knowing that God has the final say. I remember seeing the made-for-tv film that Richard Chamberlain did in the 80s and really enjoyed that. I prefer this version because he gets his revenge n then realizes revenge isn't everything. The Richard Chamberlain version isctruer to the book so it doesn't end the best for our main character. Whereas in this film its the perfect balance of getting even and finding peace n letting go. He eventually accepts the priests' philosophy of focusing on doing good so he gets the best of both worlds in my opinion. There's romance, action (awesome sword scenes) comedy and redemption. Jim Caviezel is amazing as Dantes and you truly feel for his character. Guy Pearce is sickeningly believable n makes you want to jump thru the screen and stab him with the sword yourself.

Iron Man (2008)

I loved it!

Warning: Spoilers
It was awesome! Big ups to Robert Downey, Jr., he did an excellent job and looked so healthy, I was so proud of him (I'm obviously a big fan of his and was quite concerned over the years of his substance abuse) he was fantastic. He was convincing, but I wasn't surprised by that, he's always been a great actor, he was funny, believable and sincere is his transformation from money grubbing war machine builder to humanitarian. Jeff Bridges was great too and it took me a few seconds to recognize him. I recognized his voice before I recognized his face. As an avid movie goer I knew he was the villain right away and was hoping against hope he wasn't. I didn't do any research before it came out and I don't know the Iron Man story that well so I wouldn't have known who he was in advance anyway. The scene on the plane when Terrence Howard's character is so upset with Robert's character is hilarious. The story was very well played out and the relationships were introduced well with plenty of room to grow in the sequels (I'm hoping for at least 2 :-D). Action scenes were great, the humor really really good, loved his line "yes, I can fly" and even quite a few touching scenes. Excellent film!

Great show, great acting, wonderful writing
21 December 2004
This show was amazing with lots of substance, character and great stories and wonderful acting. Something lacking in a lot of the crap that's on today (and even when this came on there was a lot of junk on). TVGuide even predicted, in it's annual preview of new shows, that it probably wouldn't last because it was really good with lots of substance and intelligence, and they were right. I watched it from day one until it went off and because I knew it probably wouldn't last with today's (even back then) unimaginative and dimwitted audiences, I taped it. I also pray and hope they put it on DVD on day. The romance, the development of the relationship between the two leads, who were so amazing together, the reality of a relationship after the pixie dust wears off a little and how to deal with that, was all handled very well. GREAT SHOW, FANTASTIC SHOW!! Too bad they don't put stuff like this on TV anymore, just lots of crappy reality shows, blah!!
