I have, very recently, discovered an interest in Asian horror/scary/thriller movies.

Quantum Apocalypse (2010)
Decent, but very slow
I'm not going to say this is a great movie, not at all. But it is worth a watch if you are bored and have the time on your hands.
The special effects are rather silly, as is the "science" jargon. It feels like they just opened a high school science book and grabbed words from it.
Most of the acting was okay, the directing is kind of hit-and-miss, it felt like they knew it was too ho-hum to really put a lot of effort into it.
The Terry character was a bit over the top if you ask me. They made him a very bad replica of Dustin Hoffman in Rain Man.
I'll watch it again if I get bored and want a cheesy end of the world movie to watch.
Juego siniestro (2016)
Rather Slow
I found myself drifting to other things. I'd force myself to come back to it because I HATE starting a movie and not finish but this one... The acting was, ok. Directing, fairly decent. It was the script that was the downfall I think of this movie.
Sure, the almighty Ouija board concept has been done to death but there was some ideas here that could have made it a bit different and more watchable.
I would have given two more stars had the script been better written, and another for acting because with a better script the actors would have better material to work with. That said, I must say that Matías Raygada (Julio), at least in this movie, was not a very impressive child actor and I'm not sure a better script could have saved his performance.
Mata Batin (2017)
Better than what Hollywood is making lately
I'm not very good at writing reviews. So here it is: 1 = poor 10 = excellent
Acting: 7
Direct: 5 (kind of choppy imo)
Writing: 6 (could have been higher had they fleshed it out, it was kind of rushed)
Casting: Jessica Mila was great as Alia; Bianca Hello was a bit awkward; And Citra Prima was AWESOME as Bu Windu!
Overall I really enjoyed this movie. I've been watching a lot of Indonesian horror flicks lately, or as many as Netflix has anyway, and generally loving learning the differences between their vision and the US vision of horror.
I would recommend this movie to friends but I would tell them not to expect original Halloween, Nightmare or Exorcist quality.
