Halloween (2018)
Shock, horror!
Well blow me down, surprisingly faithful to the source material (and not like any of the crap sequels, especially the abomination that was Halloween 3- that didn't even feature Mr Myers) the added bonus is the twist, the gore and a large body count...Colour me impressed.

The Farm (2018)
What a wasted opportunity...
The first 2 thirds were great, reasonable acting and a good premise, (echoes of the British version of the Wicker man/Texas Chainsaw Massacre)) quite why the director literally lost the plot at the 3rd act is anyone's guess? how did Alec escape? how did he manage to find his girlfriend with a serious head injury, how did she manage to talk to another captive with the psychos in the background, how come nobody could escape from the flimsiest of cages and chicken wire? and the final insult, and when they are both roasted at the end, they both have their hair??? such a shame as i was really enjoying it up until the director caved in....Meh, 5/10
Now You See Me 2 (2016)
Come on?
The irony lies in the fact a lot of 'reviewers' have the audacity to say other 'reviewers' are wrong. I studied film at university, so i know what i'm talking about. I thought it was entertaining (granted plot holes) but who cares, i just wanted a popcorn action/thriller/comedy to enjoy. And guess what? i did. Get off your high horses as you have no idea as to what you are talking about, it was about pace and juxtaposition between characters, elements that are vital in film. A beginning, middle and an end (if you follow those rules) Ivory towers indeed.
Snowfall (2017)
Well done FX!
Such a solid story (John Singleton rips it out the park again) A solid 9, (it's almost akin to a black communities version of 'Breaking Bad') fantastic actors, a solid crew of diversifying directors and great writing. FX i tip my hat. Keep up the good work.
Down Terrace (2009)
Just goes to show Americans don't understand cinema.
All of the 1% reviews on here are by Americans that just don't get it? this is classic British sink, no blinking explosions or any CGI. I find it disturbing that people actually come on to IMDb to rip into an excellent film, made with heart (and no budget) . If you want to be a faux critic at least learn the art of spelling and not bashing art for having 'so much dialogue, and not enough action' Ben Wheatley pulls his A game here. If you don't get it, fine. But there is no need to mark it down. /rant.
Meantime (1983)
You lot no nothing...
Anybody who downvotes this film and says 'yeah i'm from London' (but grew up in a middle class household) knows absolutely nothing about this era...i'm a Stoke lad (so yeah i grew up in a Kes era up north) but i was also forced to live in london during the 80's/90's...This film captures all that Thatcherism did to the UK.. I'm a working class lad, yes i've been on the dole (i know what a UB40 was) so to come over and ridicule this is appalling. Faux critics in their ivory towers...meh...the sheer audacity. I've lived this life, and Mike Leigh does a terrific job at portraying it...Also Phil Daniels needs some recognition on a great turn...so before you go mouthing off over nothing you know about...consider the past reality. Peace and love to all.
Suburbicon (2017)
Racism is obviously still rife in 'Merica.
I'm sorry but i am incensed to write this, the amount of people giving this film 1 star due to it being 'liberal' has just got my goat. No wonder the world despises America due to its right wing attitude...this is a film about race and equality (and a tragic premise) yet all you do is harp on about 'liberalism'?? is this such a bad thing? no! on topic, for a first time directorial debut i think Clooney has done a fine job (i studied film at university) his composition is excellent as is the setting/mood/costumes etc and the writing is sound via the Coens...stop being so bloody narrow minded people. learn to love.

Good action film, 11 July 2012 10/10 Author: web hardy from United States
it was a well thought out low budget action film it would have been better had they had a bit more money for the production and editing, but the acting is solid, a few award winning actors so no wonder. it is a low budget film sure, but for what they had they made the best of it, the story works, and inspired by real events makes it worth it the lead actors did a great job deserving of a bigger movie, and some of the new faces also. it could have paced up a little in the beginning but worth watching over a drink, there are a lot of studio films witch are worse, but for the low budget it was a good job for the budget loved the location, good choice Was the above review useful to you?

very low budget action film, and i have never seen anybody get that much out of that little money, so great job there. the acting was solid, and a good cast. some of the actors I know from sports and TV shows. the fight scenes looked well done, very real (im not sure they didn't hurt themselves actually) love to see Chase Stevens and Tommy Mercer I hope finally they are going to Hollywood, they did a great job. and the play between the lead Mac and Tiffany were really well done and funny moments too the editing could have been better, a bit of a slow start but I enjoyed it, good film for popcorn and a few beers. had they had a bit more money it would have been an awesome film worthy of cinema Was the above review useful to you?

the idea they set out to do is solid, and the actors are good, it could have been shot a bit better and edited a bit faster, but for a popcorn film its pretty good. there is no real use of cgi or a lot of filler, its pretty much suspense and action throughout. it is a low budget film, sure, but its better then most of the low budget i have seen, great use of, pro wrestlers, and they did a great job too, a few new faces too, some of them could goo far if Hollywood finds them. the leads did a great job and should definitely be seen in bigger action films and have higher budgets i saw interview with the director talking about the storyline based on the real human trafficking going on right here in our back yard. and that makes it worth watching just on that account. it was a good little action film, sure it could have been shot and edited better, but all in all well done. the acting is better then most low budget films I have seen, the storyline starts a little slow, but comes together well in the end. based on real events should make it worth watching. the fight scenes seems very real and the play between the two leads is reminiscent of moonlighting, well done and a little funny at times, which is good as most low budget action takes itself far to serious. i would love to see what these guys can do with more money on their next film, they have the right ideas but could have done with a little more time and funding
