Let Him Go (2020)
Violent snooze fest and sucktastic ending!
Absolutely disappointed with this movie. Very stilted story telling, very flimsy and empty characters, no real depth to them. These great actors just couldn't save this film.
And that psychotic family? So far fetched I couldn't fast forward quick enough to get through this film. And then that pathetic ending! UGH!!!
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!
Mr. Nobody (2009)
What a snooze fest! Do NOT waste your time!!
Watched for 18 minutes before I deleted it or I may have thrown my remote through the tv. What an awful movie!! Do NOT waste your time!!! Absolutely ridiculous that they could make such a terrible movie!!
Mare of Easttown (2021)
Worth watching!
I really enjoyed this first episode of the new series. It's good to see Kate Winslet and Guy Pearce in another series together (Mildred Pierce was the first one and it was phenomenal!)
Building the characters, their backstories and lives takes time and this first episode gave a good setup of all the key players.
I'm most sad for Erin, the life she has (or doesn't have due to her choices and circumstances) and how cruel her father and her son's father and violent girlfriend are towards her. I hope her killer is found and brought to justice and we are not left to wonder who killed her.
Also sad for Drew and that his dad (Mare's son?) is dead. I have to assume it was drug related since she has custody of him.
Looking forward to the rest of the series!
The Lobster (2015)
Total waste of time
Wish I had all that time back I wasted watching this pathetic piece of crap film. And to top off that steaming pile of excrement? A COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS AND UNSATISFACTORY ENDING!!!
The VVitch: A New-England Folktale (2015)
Boring!
I was hoping for something better than what this was. Bored beyond belief, extremely slow story telling, tries too hard to be suspenseful. I didn't give up on it and now wish I wouldn't have bothered watching.
Speed of Life (2019)
Ugh....wish I could get my time back!
Nothing really explained in the end, we don't know why they have no food to eat, why no one seems to have jobs or cars, or what really happens to people after age 60, or why Edward and June aren't together after they are reunited....what a waste of an hour and 15 minutes....
The Last Alaskans (2015)
The life I would love to lead....
This show, from its cinematography to its rawness to the families, showcase a way of life that is disappearing. I absolutely love watching and feeling the intensity of truly living off the land and how desperate life can be when you have to hunt for survival.
I would love the solitude but I know I would never have the skills to survive....I live vicariously through these families and watching how much they love and appreciate their families and friendships and the life they lead.
Little House on the Prairie: The Odyssey (1979)
A bit far fetched but a good one anyway
I like this episode. It's a sad but moving story of always trying for your dreams no matter what.
What the others who posted reviews forgot was that the rich gentleman who took them to the ocean paid Charles a tidy sum of money for their story to put in his newspaper. That's how they ended up with money to get home.
