Gold Rush: Parker's Trail (2017)
Paid vacation
Parker Schnabel found a sucker to pay for his and his friends' vacations. Every winter, when his millions of dollars operation in the Yukon must stop due to the weather, he embarks on a paid vacation with assorted friends, all paid for by Discovery, who produce the quite successful reality TV show "Gold Rush" for 13 seasons (so far). Each time the goal is different: last year (2021-22) it was to find a gold trommel wash plant for the operation, but it was never seen during the 2022-23 season... The most ridiculous is having his friend Danny the "cameraman" - who uses the camera on his shoulder to hide behind, and whose films are never shown, since Discovery films everything with its own crews. There may be minor adventures on the way, but it's mostly hanging out with Parker (who seems to be oblivious to anything except for gold mining) and to everyone. Watched two seasons. Not any more.
Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard (2021)
Action but no story
While the action remains fun to watch and the main actors are OK, the movie has no real story, unless one calls that STUPID array of events a story. I guess with adding 2 more high-paid actors they could not afford the script writer of the first movie and brought in replacement from the street.
Love and Monsters (2020)
Adventure, yes, with an infantile moron as the main hero
When will I see an "actor" that can really act? This one just says the text, sometimes just as he would force down disgusting food. And he is a moron.
Akira (1988)
Great animation, poor conversation
It starts ok, but the dialogues get worse and worse, until "street talk" took over. The story line also deteriorated, as if the director lost the script.
Still, the animation is magnificent, full of the most colorful imagination and action scenes are very well executed.
Game Night (2018)
How many idiots does it take to make a movie?
It starts off quite funny, and then the writer ran dry and everything just turned STUPID.
What a waste of my time!
Overhaulin': In Too Depp (2015)
One trick pony
Isn't it enough, already, with Mr. Jacobs' so-called-schemes? Let's just see Chip Foose's wonderful designs turn from sketches to reality. The shenanigans are really NOT required and just take up precious TV time.
Yes, and one more thing: I'm sure the recipients of this episode's overhaul could well afford it by themselves. So why, yet again, reward the wealthy and rich with this great gift from Foose, when so many truly deserving car owners are out there?
I will be patiently waiting for the program to pick up its game and resume its proper path.
Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (2010)
Why ruin a perfectly nice story?
Rick Riordan's male characters are dumb if not outright stupid, arrogant and rash, while his female characters are more sophisticated, smart and knowledgeable. Still, it is pleasurable to read Riordan's books with ones kids. I wonder why Chris Columbus never tried reading the book(s), as this may have benefited this poor poor movie greatly. The plot didn't make any sense if one HAS read the book, but was totally incoherent if one HAS NOT read the book. Really bad, superficial, and stupid. I am sorry for this dreadful movie, and hope that Rick Riordan will not allow his creation to be ruined so badly by this or other incompetent directors.
