North Square (2000)
Brilliant series cancelled for nothing.
A great, slick, angry, and so very intelligent legal drama. Great casting and acting, and my intro to McCrory. One of those series, oh fantastic, building up characters over episodes and then, for no good reason, being cancelled and wiped out. How very very annoying, especially seeing what Reality TV that Ch4 pulps out year after year instead. I still miss knowing what development might have occurred in this stunning show. And great to see a top lead vehicle for Phil Davis. That moment at the end, his fatherly role, looking round at his troupe in the pub... perfection.

Hustle (2004)
Splendid Entertainment
What a splendid show that was. I tuned in initially to see Robert Vaughn, and am really glad that they managed to seduce him into doing the show. As for the product, I hope it gets more credible as the production crew get settled in for the second series. Also, the cocky londoner characters need better scripts and names to make it believable, and to make it less sounding like BBC talk. Danny Blue and Micky Bricks for goodness sake. I must say, however, that the best thing about the show, other than Mr Vaughn, is the THEME TUNE, and credit animations. The Theme tune, I think, is one of the best sinister epics since the Persuaders. And thats saying something. Hats off to Simon Rodgers for that one.
