Raw and Powerful

I remember seeing this trailer for the first time. It's one of those trailers that grabs you right away. One if the one's where you identify with the lead character and his struggle instantly.

The opening shot in the trailer shows you just how beautiful the film will look. It takes you right into Hollis's (Beach) world. You then see the strange Ray(Gillen) and then a young girl taking part in bondage (giles). Then it cuts to Hollis taking Swan (Giles) in and putting a roof over her head. The trailer definitely keeps you curious and wanting more. Those are the kind if trailers I love! The movie is even better!

I was very moved when I saw this film. It reminded me to be a kind person and not be afraid to push for what I want in life. Also, to not be afraid to stand up for myself because you never know when its going to be too late.

The acting in this is spot on. The chemistry between the characters is so great. It flows so well and leaves you wanting more. You are really submerged into this world of a scrap metal collector and all that it entails and the characters that inhabit this neighborhood.

This is the type of independent film that I could watch over and over again. Being an actress, these are the types of films that I want to associate myself with. Ones with true heart, depth and the occasional comical line. Movies like this give me hope and help remind me of where I am in my life. I will watch this one many more times. Great film! Wish I could've caught it at the Austin Film Fest!

Cute and heartfelt.

I saw this film for the first time in a little theater in Des Moines, Iowa called The Varsity. It is one of my favorite spots. I thought that it was only right that I see it in an Iowa theater since thats where it was shot. A lot of my friends had worked on this and I was excited to see it! Overall I thought that the story was pretty good. I really felt for abigail's character. She is always so great in everything she does. I also heard that she was a joy to be around, so that probably helped too! This films progression was done really well. The character development was awesome! The only thing I would change would be how quickly we get to the end. I wish that I could've been led a little longer. Anyways, great film. Proud to have it shot in Iowa!

Well done action film
25 February 2014
This is a very well done action film. Most action films aren't done too well. They all have something missing and we can all agree that that is the acting! How many action movies have to seen where the stunts are so incredible, but when you watch the scene after, its horrendous! This film was put together so well. The action was not overdone at all. The acting was believable. Before I went to the theater to see this I was expecting it to be just a normal action film. I was pleasantly surprised. The intensity and quickness of it really keeps you on the edge of your seat! I was never bored. Great on so many levels. Just great.

I'll be Blunt. It was great!
25 February 2014
This is such a heartwarming story! If you are into comedy, drama, quirkiness or even dark comedy, this is your movie! Blunt and Adams capture what its like to be a true pair of sisters. Everyone has been in Adam's shoes and she makes you feel so at home. I really feel for Blunt's character because she never really got to know her mother at all. Arkin and the little boy are also a great pair! They bounce off of each-other so well. This film gives all us out there hope. It lets us know that others fail to but we really just need to make the best of the situation. Gives us hope. Perfect mother daughter movie. Its so nice to see both actresses earlier work. They are where they are for a reason.

Truthful and Beautiful

I am a big fan of Michelle Williams so I will watch anything that she is in. I also was drawn to the fact that Sarah Silverman and Seth Rogen were playing semi-serious roles. From the moment of the first shot with Michelle by the stove I was very drawn to this film. I really liked its tone. I really enjoyed the ride that it took me on. I was very surprised at what the film entailed and couldn't of guessed what happened through the trailer. It was a nice surprise. I think everyone can identify with Michelle's character. Even if they don't want to face it. Even if they are scared. To me, this film made me feel like I was more human than I thought. It helped me forgive myself a little it. Great film.

Quirky and Deep
19 February 2014
I was first drawn in by the poster to watch this film. A friend of mine had recommended it and I thought I would give it a chance. I was looking to watch a film that made me laugh and cry, and this is exactly what this film did! I am a fan of Carrie Preston and Rebecca Hall as well. I am now a fan of the other actors as well! Everyone fit their role so wonderfully! The plot moved along very nicely and I was surprised to find myself so emotional after I had just been laughing at something in the prior scene. I wish there were more independent films like this. A wide audience can identify with each of the characters. A beautiful film.
