A Series of Unfortunate Events (2017)
Wonderful Adaptation of a Book Series
I normally don't do this, but in this case I absolutely had to post a review. I'll admit I was a little skeptical when Netflix announced they would be taking on "A Series of Unfortunate Events". I've read the books more times than I can count and I really wanted to see someone do them justice. To my delight, they did a wonderful job!
The Netflix series stuck so closely to the book while still maintaining some creative license. Some small changes were made, but not enough to change the books' story lines.
Neil Patrick Harris a perfect choice for Count Olaf, getting his mannerisms down spectacularly, making him the true villain that the books portray him as while still keep a slight air of comedy. Harris kept the character true to the book but still kept a glimmer of his own personality. Harris wasn't the only great performer either. The casting was completely spot on for everyone from Patrick Warburton as Snicket to Alfre Woodard as Aunt Josephine.
All in all, a terrific series and I really hope they continue!!
