Attack on Titan: Children of the Forest (2021)
Season 4, Episode 13
10/10
Dominos.
7 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
If we seek vengeance, will the killing ever end?

The tone is sort of familiar to Tokyo Ghoul. Two sides, endlessly at hate with one another as loved ones are lost. A median of course being Marleyans, Subjects of Ymir, Eldians of Liberio. A catalyst being Eren Yeager, driving everything forward.

Kaya and Nicole wanting to kill Gabi is a never ending domino effect of war or in detail, vengeance and hatred stemmed from death of someone close.

In this season, Eren killed a variety of innocent civilians to avenge the deaths of Subjects of Ymir eaten by titans for nearly a century including his mother. The result is Gabi wanting revenge for the death of Udo and Zofia who were killed by Eren. Gabi kills Sasha to avenge their deaths. The result leading to Nicolo and Kaya attempting to kill Gabi as vengeance for killing Sasha. The attempt of Nicolo to kill Gabi results in Falco accidentally consuming Zeke's spinal fluid from the wine the Eldian Restorationists were serving to Military Police.

The Warriors initial attack on the Paradis, an island stuck in lost memory, has had substantial consequences directly and indirectly moving forward

This episodes shows gives significance to pain of those who aren't directly involved in conflict for the Founding Titan.

Eren has been reborn as "Yeager".
1 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Eren is correct in his actions. While the military was in limbo for 3 years, Eren was plotting to protect his people. Now he gained control almost immediately after escaping, placing the military in a position where they had no choice but to back him. Talk about being overprepared.

No one, except Eren, could succeed Commander Erwin. All the other military leaders failed him completely. Even his friends who really wouldn't die for him had to be replaced by loyal cultists.

The people were on his side since the day he arrived back in success. Possibly even way before that. His name in the newspapers as being falsely imprisoned. The story being leaked by soldiers. The chant after Zachary's demise. Yelena wanting to desperately be noticed by Eren himself. Historia crying after Eren forcefully trying to protect her soul in meetings with Hizuru. The rumor of 100 plus soldiers helping Eren escape and disappearing with him. It was doomed to happen.

Attack on Titan: Assault (2021)
Season 4, Episode 7
10/10
3 Straight historic Episodes
27 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I'm a fan of Attack On Titan, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, and even THE WIRE. Stop review bombing just because you're a fan of 1 of the set. Its bitter and vindictive. It also projects who you are as a person.

The review:

1. Armin walking the steps of Bertolt and Gabi feeling the need for vengeance that Eren did in seaon 1.

2. Levi barely talks but gets things done.

3. Pieck foreshadowed Galliards recklessness which got Lara Tybur eaten. If he hadn't gone in to kill, Eren wouldn't have figured out what it took to break the crystal. Galliard has the least experience fighting against ODM gear and was easily taken out by the fierce Mikasa. The reason however for his recklessness is because of Pieck's defeat.

4. The armor is mentally weak and Falco seems to understand that as a child.

5. Mikasa and Armin seem very regretful. Mikasa looked very conflicted watching the War Hammer being eaten. Armin's sight from up above wasn't so pretty and he let us know. The Colossal, the nuclear missile of the show. Marley left them no choice.

6. I love the small detail of Lara Tybur moving her eyes and slightly changing her expression. One expression of confidence when Eren tried to eat her but failed. The turn of her eyes to look down at how deep the Jaw cut into the crystal. She even got her clothing cut just bit. Then the acceptance as she knew what was coming once Eren planted the crystal in between the Jaw's..well...Jaw's. The suspense as she looked down at Eren was...just immense. Felt like a whole minute passed by in those couple of seconds. Then the last detail..as Eren's pupils dilated once the power was gained.

Watchmen: A God Walks into Abar (2019)
Season 1, Episode 8
10/10
Overall rating is skewed for this show.
10 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This show was done right as the comic readers mentioned that this show was meant to be political. Their was so much outrage on youtube when this show dropped. The ratings by episode progressively ascend. .......

To review, we figure out that Dr. Manhattan plays god by creating Adam and Eve but becomes indifferent as they worship him. The origin of the clones with Adrien is revealed.

In westworld, the hosts have cornerstones. We basically figure out the cornerstone of Manhattan constantly falling in love. After all, he did use to be a man.

Adrian's prison is what we thought it was and not something more than that. There were various theories debunked. It was of course manhattan who was the only one who create such a prison after all. A prison that was meant to be a paradise. A paradise for a plan A that made Jon unaware of who he was to save his relationship with angela.

Another series that I watch is black mirror. Its reoccurring song by Irma Thomas, "Anyone Who Knows What Love Is", makes a cameo. Could it have been foreshadowing tragedy since in black mirror or constantly ends that way? Hell yes.

We also get a first hand impression of how manhattan is all over time. Futur and past simultaneously. How he able to manipulate events of the future with question basically is the main twist of the episode.

........end review.

The show is brilliant and I believe theres a bubble of people hypersensitive about it. Theyre tired of recreations of their childhood with political and social agendas. Star wars, batwoman, Ghostbusters, Charlie's Angel's, Captain Marvel.

This show, unlike the examples I mentioned, has great writing. This is the critical difference as to why this show should be spared. It's not forced but natural as it is part subtlety part of the story.

The united states has a dark history that its citizens refuse to face. Mainly of oppression, genocide, riots, anarchy, racism, swindling, etc. People need to understand that people are angry and always will be as we will be hostile towards eachother. Even passive aggressively.

Westworld: The Passenger (2018)
Season 2, Episode 10

Perfect in its Own Way
25 June 2018
I believe this might be the show of the century. Humans are not challenged by any other species in this world but once a species tries to, you've all seen the results as to how they are treated. We are controlling psycho paths who destroy things like a virus to make sure we and our children live comfortably. We eliminate things that don't fit our own world view and this statement can be expanded. We as a species are extremely controlling as we continue to develop over the land and environments in which other species thrive on for our own efficiency of life so we can yet again, live comfortably. We are very powerful beings capable of destroying ourselves with a simultaneous push of a button.

Our cornerstone....constantly is to live and destroy anything that impedes that and this statement can be scaled from the micro to the macro level. This show is probably the show of century for me showing our true our true nature; naked bare for all to see. Its scary for us to survive, everything else..must suffer.

We...as a species will never be perfect and will never get over our tribalism. This series dives too deep for the simple minded viewer who doesn't question his or her motives every single day and think of how it impacts everything else.

-------------

I'm sorry this post isn't truly about the episode but what thoughts the episode provoked within me and what the interview with Jonathan Nolan also provoked.
