needs to be watched at least twice!

this i an all time classic TV series but it certainly needs a couple of viewings if you really want to get into the story. i would certainly recommend reading the books as they give an insight into the TV series.

of course Alec Guiness was superb as George Smiley and the entire series was stuffed full of British actors, including star trek's Patrick Stuart. this is a wonderful story which really brings the Cold War into vivid perspective, especially the situation with the Eastern Block. the plot was absolutely supreme and is a decent intellectual spy series which is so far from Ian Flemming's James Bond. this is certainly well worth watching if you enjoy being intellectually stretched, of which there is so little on TV at the moment. not all Drama has to be laid out on a plate and this certainly adheres to that. if you enjoy this series then you must watch the other one, Smiley's People. i would only say that the one drawback of this series is that as soon as the characters are given their code-names i simply can't remember what they are!

bit childish but good for easy watching

Warning: Spoilers
it wasn't the best film in the world but i can safely say that it isn't the worst i have seen.

in my opinion this film relies on the witty comments from both sides. as a recommendation i think that by revealing Max so early it lost a lot of the mystery in the story which was one of the biggest things going for it. there were also a few inaccuracies in the film, for example the chopper that is blown up at the beginning and the chopper they steal from the US military in New Mexico are not US choppers but European ones! now i have finished griping, there were a few good points about this film. one is that it is very easy to watch which is always a bonus after a day of work and i have already mentioned the witty banter that goes on in the film. this is certainly aimed at younger teenagers but the plot is amusing for a while.

i wouldn't say that it is a must watch but is enjoyable enough and if it is cheap on DVD then i would probably get it.

this was a good film and i really did enjoy it.

the plot did get a bit cliché towards the end but was immensely enjoyable and there was a certain degree of comedy value to this film.

Clint Eastwood did a good job of playing Gunny Highway and as usual there were some excellent quotes which are very memorable and can be applied to situations in everyday life. in my opinion the best quote is "quite frankly sir, your beginning to bore the hell outta me!" . this is much easier to take in compared to other war films and is well worth watching. top stuff from a top actor and is definitely in the same league as some of Eastwood's other movies

man betrayed by the system on the road to justice.

i thought this was a superb film and Mark Wahlberg played a blinder as Bob Lee Swagger.

it is good to have a decent sniper film out and i think it is on the same page as Enemy at the Gates. the use of up to date military technology, like the Cheytac intervention rifle he uses, makes the film a whole lot more real for the current generations. the plot was a good one and gave some interesting notions on justice. if you enjoy a good survival story and spooks thriller then you must watch this film. this is definitely a film you must watch and is definitely one to get on DVD or Blu-ray.
