Hilarious, spooky, gay comedy
1 April 2023
Summoning Sylvia follows a group of gay friends who rent a haunted house for a weekend bachelor party only to be interrupted by spooks both supernatural and real. One of the funniest films I've seen in a long time with snappy, witty dialog. A create cast with tons of chemistry. Some mistaken identities, some potential homophobia, and some sex with ghosts (who would NOT be gendered!) First time feature writers/directors Alex Wyse and Wesley Taylor show their flair for creating real dialog and clever comedy. In between the scares there are drag queens, dancing, music and hijinks. Highly recommend checking it out if you get the chance.
