Christmas Cupid's Arrow (2018)
Quite possibly the worst movie i've ever seen
Script. Plot. Camera work. Direction. Sound. Lighting. Acting. There are absolutely no elements in this movie that work, neither alone or together.
The Leftovers (2014)
Not for binge watching
So, I finally got around to watching the series 1 finale tonight. Reason for having the series on "hold" for a while, is simply it's weird and strange plot. Each episode requires some reflection.
To sum up season 1: This is some of the best stuff HBO has made. Ever. The plot is pretty strange, and probably not everyone's cup of tea - but if you like quirky, give this a chance!
The characters in this series are very deep, and have a lot to offer. This provides very good interaction between the persona, and i think the casting for the show is perfect. Justin Theroux really shines in this, as opposed to other shows I've seen him in where I've found him being mediocre at best. The only downside - I think Liv Tyler's role and story is very interesting, and I hope to see a lot more of that in season 2.
The season finale is probably the most beautiful ending to a series I have ever seen. Looking forward to the rest and hope they can keep that very special atmosphere.
Wayward Pines (2015)
Thin .. very thin
The actors must have been on something when they accepted roles in this. Direction is poor, story isn't there .. I can see they have tried to take Storybrook from Once Upon a Time and move it into Twin Peaks territory, too bad they fail so horribly at making it work. It's about as exciting as The Following, which means I'd rather watch paint dry.
A storyline where someone disappears into what seems like an alternate reality has been done so many times before, and so far this show has failed to produce anything new. Man disappears, man gets held back, man gets threatened, man tries to escape, village idiots hunt him down .. Seriously, how did they get funding for this crap is beyond me.
