No Sudden Move (2021)
Brilliant
Outstanding casting & direction. Cheadle's character outplays everyone in this unexpected outing to get what's his and no more. He can reliably count on the other characters' greed to neutralize each as he sails through to his desired finish. A shining intelligence and real decency on show here. Plenty of surprises for the audience along the way. VERY engaging.
Cheadle's best IMHO since DIABD. Del Toro does not disappoint, Liota is a joy to see & Brendan Fraser's memorable performance unobtrusively makes itself essential to the film. That man is seriously underrated.
Matt Damon does an excellent job with his self-contained set-piece character, but it doesn't really connect with the rest of the film. It's a little too precious that he's not included in the credits. But that's the only jarring note. Forgivable.
The whole effort is cradled in Detroit which plays itself brilliantly whilst breaking your heart.
