A movie worth going to see at the cinema
14 December 2022
The movie while not fantastic storywise was very enjoyable and well worth going to see it. The visuals where beyond fantastic and makes this years other blockbuster CGI look like a joke. Would recommended strongly seeing it in 3D, while its mostly a novelty that because in most cases its done cheaply as a gimmic. Not in this case .The biggest suprise was how they returned some of the characters from the 1st movie which just fit right in.

You either go see it in the cinema (biggest screen possible) or don't bother watching it at all. If your thought is to wait and stream it, save yourself 3hrs and don't bother (unless you have a great home theatre (even then....)

Probably a decent show if it was called something else
2 October 2022
The big divide with reviews and rating for people will be those that are new to this property (maybe they watched the 90's movie) and those that have read The Chronicles and so have a wealth of depth and detail into the characters.

The show itself I could see being a decent if not good show and it possibly is for people unfamiliar with the IP but for me going into this as "Interview with the vampire" it was just too removed.

From the first 2 episodes the 2 main characters are nearly unrecognisable from the book versions as well as the basic rules that vampires are subjected to is completely ignored * In the novel vampires where rendered unconscious when the sun rose so having these run about and only sleeping because when it suits them I find annoying.

*Also that vampire's bodies are technically dead so no blood flow and no real sexlife * Also Louis having a setup like he does doesn't sit right (but again that might be because he is such a different character now).

The acting is solid, the writing is meh and weighted down with the typical.

If your after another vampire show that switches back and forth alot then this one might suit you and is worth a try but if you coming because your very familiar with the IP I wouldnt really both.

A rather weak beginning
19 August 2022
Watching the first episode you realise what has become too common lately is a very weak pilot episode. Originally the first episode of a show had to really Pop to get viewer to commit to watching the rest of the season but that's clearly not the case with alot of shows now.

Unless your committed to watching all MCU shows there is very little about the first episode to make you want to add this to you viewing schedule. The CGI has been improved.

* spaceship that caused the crash and sets everything into motion.........nah dont worry about it.

* after ep 1, I'm ace at everything and can master everything no problem......downside to her her being a Hulk is really on her cloths.

It kinda felt like a movie on a fast forward especially with how it ended.

Call it Comanche VS Alien
5 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
It they hadn't tried to use the name recognition IP you could give this one a pass and put it in similar grouping as Asylum films.

The Lead in this film comes across the whole film as very unlikeable as well as self centred and selfish. Her whole motivation for wanting to hunt is because people said she couldn't (as in doesn't have what it takes, its not even them saying it just because she is a woman). Than for the first 2hrs of the movie she continues to demonstrate that she cant hunt and if it wasnt for the Predator's arrival she would have probably been killed by a bear shortly.

No respect or acknowledgement is given to the fact none of her tribe members may have been killed if not for her actions and the fact she survived by not fighting and running away, yet than got offended when it was mentioned the Predator didnt see her as a threat.

(Stone Cold award to, for not even breaking stride or turning her head when something happens to her brother behind her)

Overall it was a rather terrible movie.

Interesting if a little slow
20 March 2022
I'm enjoying the show so far up to episode 7 but it definitely is feeling like a show that's better to watch marathon wise when the season is over.

Even now alot of questions are left unanswered and the major fear of anyone watching a show like this is that even after episode 10 those answers won't be provided.

The overall quality and worth of this show will come down to 2 factors.

1 That those behind it have actually planned out not only what is happening but why.

2 That if it ends after season 1 answers and a resolution are provided or no one will speak of it again.

Slow and telegraphed but still enjoyed it
20 March 2022
Pretty much everything that happens in this episode was telegraphed in the previous episodes so you know pretty much what's going to happen.

That being said it was still a decent episode, hopefully this begins the shake up where the story moves faster and some answers are provided.

OMG I will laugh when I think something is funny not because of the bloody Laughing track
25 January 2022
This shows go to move is still when in doubt press the laugh track.....

Since half this episode was about getting a date all I could think was "Have you met Ted?"

It was an improvement over the first 2 episodes but the characters are still all just caricatures with very little reason given to care about any of them. This could be in part because of the extra main character (6 instead of 5) we have been introduced to as well as several other prominent characters.

Still too early to tell but I dont see this show improving quickly.

Time to retire the laugh track
18 January 2022
Now to be fair it is only 2 episodes in but so far its completely inferior to HIMYM, I rewatched the 1st episode of that and it was alot funny and more well put together.

I really hated the laugh track because 70% of the time the "jokes" didnt land and so it felt like the show was telling you "this is a funny line, you should be laughing" even as you dont even crack a smile (20% of the time it got a half smile).

The Kim Cattrall parts and voice over are extremely cringe

The show might improve and be fun to watch but so far its not starting off strong, its the character that made HIMYM so that will be a huge deciding factor going forward (no point even trying to replace Neil Patrick Harris's Barny as it just cant be done).

Ps I see alot of reviews that give it a 7-8* with comments like has potential or, no HIMYM but might get there etc......which makes me question what rating they gave that show and how they rate this one so high currently on the possibility it improves.

It really is as bad as people are saying
5 December 2021
Tried to watch it and after the 3rd episode and still not a single laugh or even a chuckle I'm not sure I will get through the rest (hence why I'm reviewing it now.

It's truly just not funny and all the swearing just feel forced and pointless. There also seems to be alot of insulting and terrible takes on not just Christmas but other holidays like Easter and ALOT of random "jokes I think" about like Jewish people and the Holocaust which just feels so odd. Oh and a "joke" about replacing the moles in wack-a-mole with White Supremes cause ok???

Now as for who this show was actually aimed at??? I couldn't tell you as I have no idea. I even looked through the reviews to try and find out what atleast someone found funny in this show and couldnt find anything.

All I can come up with is maybe if I was completely absolutely stoned off my butt then like maybe it would be enjoyable??? Of course at that point the screen saver on my computer screen would have my undivided attention.

Better than S11-12 but still subpar
8 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This was a better episode and the Sontarans are always fun. That being said the episode felt very lazily written one moment the doctor is talking about the Sontarans how they are bred for battle and very good at it.....than every single one goes back into there ships to refuel leaving them completely exposed.

Not to mention it wouldnt be a Chibnall Doctor Who episode if the doctor didnt berate some white guy for his actions. The Scene felt very similar to the S02 special Christmas Invasion involving Harriet Jones which only further highlights how it was written and delivered (subpar).

The Story could have been interesting but I doubt we will every truely know
7 November 2021
Just finished episode 6 tonight and the show has gone no where fast. Problems like predators and "outsiders" seem to only be an issue randomly when its convenient. Characters seem to have taken on leadership roles for seemingly no reason (previous job, experience etc) doesn't seem to matter.

You can already tell this show will leave the season on a huge cliff hanger answering one or two questions but asking several more (atleast), but they will never be answered. You just know its not coming back for a season 2.

Warning: Spoilers
Eve and Marybeth's actions and behaviour this episode was beyond terrible. If the following episode doesn't show them facing actually proper consequences from the other people there......than this show will just be managing to fall to a new level of stupid.

No one was making them or there kids be on the first flight, everyone had the same exact information they did yet they decided it wasn't there right to decide if the risk was worth it.

The show continues to have people act and behave in not only unrealistic was but also stupid.

At least the makeup looks decent
30 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This opening episodes plot and character decision was beyond moronic. It sometimes feels like it was going for comical when the first draft was written than change to try and be more serious.

An example of this is 1 character hoping on a ride on mower to escape the rising zombies, even though the mower take serval attempts to get started and goes at a casual walking speed pace. He than hits a rock and tumbles off it, it was so over done if felt like if it was done in a car he would have gone flying through the windscreen after hitting a trolley while driving in a carpark.

Another example is the character leads people down into the basement of a funeral home for safety, literal walking past a flight of steps leading to an upper level.....and yes the room they took shelter in has the draws they keep the bodies in with many seemingly be occupied.

Oh and some plot about fraking and investigating a body, are they planning on killing the detective or what its hard to say it just makes zero sense.

It has it moments
28 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This political episode was probably the best so far of the first 6 as its side plots still contained some funny moments.

Its shown the officer planted the mouse and staged the incident, however it makes you wonder if causing this was his plan why didn't he in some way make it more clear he was a cop when either placing his order or picking it up?

It seems like the writers decided on this as it seems to be the only reason for Holt to decide its all fake. He than acts accordingly to what he believes while the faceless uniform officers do the same, while the writer basically tell you they are wrong (I'm assuming believing that someone would never do such a thing or even spit in someone's burger.....).

He has the officer tailed and spied on while trying to prove the uniformed officers have lied about being ill instead of actually talking to them and having a proper conversation. The writers I think also avoided actually showing any of the uniformed officers since we saw those ranks to be as diverse as the detectives. This than causes an issue in a later episode (or it should if the show cared about consistence) since it implies intimidation and going outside the law is ok so long as you are proven correct which is a just plain stupid (eg if Rosa didn't just so happen to find proof than the whole squad should have been suspended for there actions.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine: The Set Up (2021)
Season 8, Episode 6

Another subpar episode this season
28 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
As someone who was putting B99 episodes on random shuffle to watch when I felt like watching something but not something I needed to give my full attention I can honestly say this Season wont be included in that shuffle.

The Set Up was this weeks Political episode and so had very few actual funny moments (odd for what was a comedy). This episode was perhaps the worst so far since in the previous episode its "heavily" implied that Jake aided Doug Judy in escaping prison (someone who very much should be in prison and is guilty of ALOT) and he is fine with that and suffers no consequences. That episode ends without elaborating on what exactly he had to do to escape (besides using the pen), if it included hurting atleast someone which seems reasonable given he was escaping police custody.

In this episode Jake decided to push and investigate an attempted bombing even though the FBI had taken over. He arrested someone who happened to be at the site of the previous attempted bombing and ran when Jake approached him. The moral of this episode seems to be that Jake should only do what he's told or maybe questioned the guy more after he caught up with him.

Its all very contradictory and confusing, one of the next 2 episodes should really have Jake arrested and up on charges for aiding in a prisoner escape.

The main problem I think alot of people are having with this season is they watch this show for the laughs and as pure entertainment with occasional more serious topic episodes that still kept the humour up. Also that the issues they are addressing now are very one sided like I cant believe its easy or enjoyable to be a Cop in America especially now. The Mouse burger was a setup in Blue Flu but it isnt a stretch to think people would do something like that.

Candyman (2021)

About on par with the other Candyman Sequels
26 August 2021
The movie has an interesting premise and connection to the original film which had me interested way back when it was originally suppose to come out.

Unfortunately not only does it not live up to the Original it only barely manages to match the 2 previous sequels (Farewell to the flesh and Day of the dead). Probably the most glaring especially for anyone that remembers the original is this one lacks the commanding and incredible presence Tony Todd brought to the role of Candyman, whenever he was on screen was amazing. It also tries to expand the mythology of Candyman but it doesn't land right either similar to how each sequel gave Candyman a new weakness and vulnerability. There is also way to many moments in the film where all these things are happening to or around the main character and you are getting tiny glimpses of there impacts but they seem separate from the main character like there are no consequences.

The Police are also a glaring issue in this as the movie wants to paint there attitude a certain way yet at the same time ignore that attitude and the effects it would have on the story when its convenient to do so

Overall not a terrible movie but very lackluster, at best it will make you want to rewatch the original again.

"Necessary" doesn't translate into a good episode
13 August 2021
Its definitely not deserving of a 1* anymore than it is of a 10* Not a very fun or entertaining episode of B99, while I understand the reviews calling it necessary its not why I watch this show or indeed can watching this show on random shuffle when doing other things.

Its not surprising that they released 2 episodes back to back like this and that the following episode is more instep with what people have come to expect from B99. I'm not sure if not doing so would have hurt viewing numbers but this way I think it solves possible issues and keeps the drama down.

A near complete failure
31 August 2019
The Cast was great and I will watch any movie with Bill Murray but that's it. The movie lacked any real content and felt like it was content to just beat you over the head with its blunt message, That we are mostly zombified and walking steadily to our own demise. Yes even literally explaining that at the end of the movie incase you somehow missed it.

The 4th wall breaking was so force how anyone couldn't roll there eyes at it seems impossible.

If for some reason you still watch this terrible movie please have a copy of one of George A. Romero's classic trilogy to balance you, so you can watch how a director can make an entertain movie that has at its core a reflection on society.

A few people with like it (everything appeals to someone), other more pretentious people with "like it" and claim if you don't your not intellectual or sophisticated enough for it. All garbage it bombed because it was done poorly and will NOT become a cult hit it will just go away and be forgotten.
