Good Omens: Chapter 6: Every Day (2023)
Unnecessary S2
First series was really good, with a real script by Neil Gaiman from the book written by him AND the late great Terry Pratchett (who provided most of the fun). Then S2 is out, and looks like the whole script came from fanfictions, memes and all sort of craps coming from youngsters on social networks. NG gathered them and this is the result. Dull. Mediocre. No character development, almost no fun at all, it's just fan service for the two main characters. Plus nepotism at its best/worst as Tennant's father-in-law and stepson got a role in the series. Funny as he always like to pontify about DeI and then the only one included are his relatives.
The Little Mermaid (2023)
Live action remake with lack of magic
Unfortunately this latest Disney live action remake of classical animated movies shows several issues:
It is one hour too long; the subplot concerning prince Eric was completely unnecessary;
Three new and rather forgettable songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda. I forgot them the minute they sang them.
Acting is mediocre. Halle Bailey is pretty and can sing, but she lack magic , Javier Bardem was unrecognisable, and I'm not talking about the beard, he was totally uninspired in his acting, probably thinking only at the pay check. The actor playing Eric was dull and forgettable as Miranda's songs.
The great, late Howard Ashman was able to make the Disney renaissance. And Disney instead be grateful, destroy his legacy by adding lines to his beautiful lyrics? It's like adding moustaches to Mona Lisa!
I only save Melissa McCarthy's performance and Awkwafina voicing Scuttle, but the CGI looks cheap.
Harry & Meghan (2022)
This is trash
This is just a z-list Reality show about two grandiose narcissists, egomaniac people who thinks they are emperors of the world. Stock photos in order to pretend they are assaulted by paparazzis, videos of other people, lies or different version of events every time they open their mouth (cheap version of Groundhog Day). The two fake humanitarians show their hate for everyone that saw them for what they are- Moking the late Queen with that ridicolous courtsey (from someone claiming a degree in Intenational relations and was two weeks in an Embassy) is beyond ridicoulness. Trash. At this point I hope for it to sank quietly.
Why Didn't They Ask Evans? (2022)
A good adaption, at last!
After the 'Meeh' 2011 version (where they made Mrs marple appear and completely ruined the plot). This is a very good miniseries that I binge watched in one night.
Hugh Laurie surprised me as the director (what kenneth Branagh made of Hercule Poirot gave me headaches), as he was better than expected, and directed a good and enjoyable mini series . Most important: he respected Agatha Christie's work with very slight changes. Good cast with some interesting cameos like the one played by Emma Thompson. I hope Hugh Laurie will direct more from Agatha Christie's books.
Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace (2021)
What a load of garbage
It looks as the script was written directly by the two eternal victims. The result it is that this tv movie is so bad it does not deserve even a nod at the Razzie awards. The wooden acting from the two leading actors is better than the original couple, though...
Deadwater Fell (2020)
Great drama, David Tennant and Anna Madeley outstanding!
The first episode was incredible. The story focus on two families, one is destroyed by a tragedy and only one survives. But soon it is clear that that wass not a tragedy at all, but a deliberate murder. The best friend of the dead women try to search for the truth. The story reminds a bit Broadchurch because it all happens in a small community, but then it evolves in a original way. David Tennant as Tom and Anna Mandeley as Kate are outstanding but all the cast is great, and the script by Daisy Collum is really thrilling. I can't wait for next episode.

The Mandalorian (2019)
This is how to do SW!
Forget latest movies, this is the best Star Wars, to watch and rewatch endless times, no PC, no forced script and unforgettable characters. Also, baby Yoda!
Good Omens (2019)
Best adaption ever!
Good Omens shows how to make a great adaption from a book. The extraordinary David Tennant (Emmy, please) as Crowley and Michael Sheen as Aziraphale are a match made in Heaven (or Hell, which is the same). A casting stroke of genius. Also the wonderful Miranda Richardson as Mme Tracy and Jon Hamm as Gabriel were very good, only Jack Whitehall performance wasn't very accurate.
There was a great scene missing, and a real shame they decided not to film it: the part with the other four horsemen of the Apocalypse. They had a great storyline in the book.
But we had, on the contrary, the magnificent intro in the third episode, showing us Crowley and Aziraphale's relationship through the centuries. Bravo!
Camping (2018)
Good script and great acting, not sure about Jennifer Garner
A US remake of a British series (that I didn't watch so I can't compare). Great cast, and good script but it got a 8 from me as I think Jennifer Garner (so good in dramas) overacts a bit too much.
David Tennant and Juliette Lewis always perfect and a pleasure to watch
You, Me and Him (2017)
A comedy that will make you both laugh and cry
I was able to watch the movie, at last! And I can say it is a really good comedy, You must watch it as it is really worthy.
David always amazes me for his versatility, he can play both drama and comedy effertlessy and he reminds me Cary Grant for this peculiarity. ...he made the role of John his own, I was worried to be distracted by the beard, piercing and hypster's look, but I wasn't a bit. It was all part of the character, just in appearance frivolous. He was brilliant!
Nina Sosanya and Sarah Parish always a delight to watch, Sarah was a surprise as I know her in serious roles.
The team ladies have good chemistry and, especially Lucy Punch was good and also Simon Bird as her brother.
Appropriate music and lovely cameos by the Tennant's clan.
One scene *LIGHT SPOILER* made me remind a sad period of my life. I rarely saw it (if never) on movies in all its rawness. I sobbed, but it was, finally cathartic.
A word for Daisy Aitkens. I get this is her first movie as director, apart a couple of shorts. The girl has talent, she already seems a veteran, good shots, perfect edit, as they talk about equality, this is a case of a female director that should be given more opportunities. Bravo!
There was just a few (luckily) moans on socials by some claiming to be LGBT that went so far to bully/harassing people on tumblr/other socials just because those people loved You,Me&Him and shared stills/gifs. An idiot stays an idiot, male, female, LGBT or whatsoever, still an idiot if the main purpose is to bully unknown people on socials. Not going to waste further time on it.
.Better to be clear: This movie is a comedy, not a documentary, it doesn't mean to teach a lesson, and albeit what are the main characters, this is a movie about maternity. And a decent movie, too. People need to keep polemics for more serious things.
And this movie made made melaugh, but also cry. 4star from my humble person
Gracepoint (2014)
Simply beautiful
Watched Gracepoint 1st episode for the second time.David Tennant is incredible as Emmett Carver, he needs only a look on his eyes or a movement of his body to give life to a character. He can plays virtually everything and always be extraordinary. Love the accent too, the way he says "go away" to Ellie, was just..WOW. I don't compare his character with the one in Broadchurch. Here he is Emmett Carver and I see Emmett Carver, more cynical, less sickly. Anna Gunn is a wonderful surprise. Her Ellie is really impressive. She was a more resolute Ellie and this is a good thing as she aimed for a promotion. Less emotive than Olivia Colman, (I know Bafta and all, but somewhat I found her overacting on emotions) a good thing as cops are trained to cope all kind of tragedies. Very good Kevin Zegers as Owen and Virginia Kull as Beth was stunning. As a mother, I immediately felt her grief like was mine, and cried. Jack Irvine was a creepy Tom. I reserve judgment for the rest of the cast as their character will develop in following eps. I appreciated the great work on photography made by Mr Grillo and the stunning scenery. Less slow motion (good) and a minimal soundtrack no towering above the scene, in peak scenes there were just a few acoustic guitar's chords. Overall a great work, and more important, the Maestro's signature. Chris Chibnall and his script were acknowledged at the opening credits. Bravo. BTW, I watched Broadchurch 12 times, 9 times in o/v, 2 in Italian version and 1 in french version, own the DVD set and know the lines by memory. I reset everything and my approach to Gracepoint was made with fresh eyes and open mind. The result is amazing. Gracepoint is great.
