The Family Man (2019– )
9/10
Okay. This has to be seen.
22 September 2019
When I heard that the series is being directed by Raj & DK I knew this will not be a generic show with the same formulaic storyline. Sure, the story is familiar. But oh man! Raj and Dk find some really unexpected ways in which they drive foward the story. You'll be caught off-guard again and again and after a point you'll question everythin, your beliefs, your judgements. Everything. The actors for the most part potray thier charecters beautifully. Kudos to the directors though. They have pulled off something really unique yet familar and common. Please Please Please take note of a 10 minutes one take tracking sequence in a hospital in Episode 6. This is by far one of the best shows I've seen. Period. And those who are claiming it to be propaganda for certain religions, please go watch some bollywood formulaic blockbuster, this is not for you. This is a good show and the source material has been treated with respect.

Perfection?
24 May 2019
Had to write a review because people are giving it negative reviews and calling it a feminist propaganda movie. First of all, I'm a guy and I really found most of the movie compelling. The cast does a superb job. Specially Alison Williams. The movie also goes in a very different direction and kudos to the writers and director to make such a different thriller. The only nitpick I have is that the movie has a very weird way of showing flashbacks. I found it annoying. But, the movie is a good netflix thriller.

Bird Box (2018)

Bullock box
18 December 2018
When I heard that the adaption of the Novel BIRD BOX by Josh Malerman will star Sandra Bullock, I was a bit conflicted with the idea. Sandra is a great actress no doubt in that, but I thought she would not be convincing enough. I saw BIRD BOX yesterday and I can gladly assure you that this is the best performance by her in a long time. Specially a scene where she emotionally breaks down in the end. The director has competently crafted this movie into a taut thriller that will never bore you in its 124 minutes runtime. There are some good old suspenseful moments in there. The best part of this movie apart from Bullock's performance is that it never gets boring or repetitive. There are some time jumps that raise some plot holes and plausibility issues. Also some decisions certain characters take are dumb. The performances all over the board are brilliant though. The children gave good performances too just somethings they did were odd. The pacing was good too. One problem some people might come up with will be regarding the entities or the creatures. It did not bother me much. Overall the movie was entertaining enough for me to like it.

You (2018–2024)

Whoa.
10 September 2018
I read the novel a year ago. When I heard that they were making a tv show produced by lifetime I was skeptical. But yesterday I saw the pilot of You. All I can say is that the show has my attention. I'm a fan of the book. I loved it. The book is dark and has a comedic shade to it. The TV show is dark but the darkly comedy shade of the book is still missing. Thats just a knit pick though. The show is great. The actors are faithful in portraying the charecters. Pen Bagely as Joe (maybe I mispelles his name lol) but he does a great job. The show requires a lot of monologues and narration as the novel is in first person. But this doesn't bog down the show. Its done pretty nicely. I hope that the show sticks to this level of superb and gets better. I'm amazed and happy.

The Package (II) (2018)

People are not getting the point.

Okay so let me be straight. This is by no means a great movie. But what's good about it is that it subverts expectations. I expected this to be utter garbage and unfunny. But it wasn't. Anyways comedy is pretty subjective. You may either like it or hate it. If youre expecting smart and witty one liners this isn't your cup. But if youre in for some really weird, crude and raunchy type of a comedy that doesn't take itself too seriously then I feel you'll love this. It has some major flaws though. For one, the movie could be a little bit tightly edited, also not all the jokes landed. Some were funny while some were just meh. But what surprised me was the acting. Especially the guy from ALEX STRANGELOVE and the girl from BLOCKERS. Their comic timing is great. The supportijg cast is pretty good too. Overall this movie is a competently made nextflix original. Its not the smartest or the most compelling movie but that wasn't the point of the movie anyway. Its just a 90 minute fun ride that keeps you entertained till the end.

Hacksaw Ridge (2016)
9/10
Intense, heartfelt and brilliantly executed.

Andrew Garfield shines in this movie. So does the supporting cast. There's something so admirable an unique about how the movie is made. Its like you're watching a movie made before 2000 but in a good way. The movie never bores you. The drama is solid and the when the movie gets brutal OMG I can't praise the intensity and the gimness of the perfecrtly filmed war scenes. The only knit pick about the movie is that I found Vince's charecter of the Sarge a bit over the top. But its okay. He also gives a competent performance. The standouts are Hugo Weaving and Andrew Garfield.

A disposable superhero ride
22 November 2017
I didn't hate justice league. But I surely did not love it either. The movie is passable. It has some major problems and some that can be ignored. First of all, the most common problem is the villain. Steppenwolf is given a backstory but it rather seems very forced and clichéd. The whole movie is a cliché. But the villain was just another CGI monster like ultron, doomsday or Aries. The second problem is not actually the fault of the director but that of wanner bros. as they passed the mandate for keeping the runtime of less than 2 hours. Due to this the movie was not always coherent and feels very rushed. Also sometimes the CGI seemed to be awful(Henry Cavil's moustache) Other problems were that the dialogue was sometimes weak and some of the humour fell flat. As for the positives, the movie is fun but disposable, all the performances were great specially Jason Mamoa. Ezra Miller is great as flash too. Ray Fisher us also good as Cyborg and Ben and Gal are top notch. The team has a good chemistry overall and Henry Cavil also steals the show. They really nailed Superman. But this is not a great or even a good movie, its okay and you'll really enjoy it if you're a DC fan.
