EuroTrip (2004)
The movie about Europe completely filmed in the Czech Republic
One of the most offensive movie I have ever seen. The writers probably have never been to Europe, especially in Central or Eastern Europe. It uses the most stupid stereotypes that don't make any sense at all. The most funny part is that the complete movie was shot in the Czech Republic while offending Central Europe culture. I recommend all the people that liked the movie to visit Europe or at least to find information about it. I quite liked Road trip, it was an average teenage comedy without any political or cultural bias. But this movie lacked all the funny quotes and is openly vulgar and therefore really cheap.
Obcan Havel (2008)
Unique document on an unique man
A humorous and humble reflection on the Czech symbol of humanity and decency in politics. Man who was such a great president despite of the fact(or just because of it) that he had never wanted to be political active. Typically, he would have been a great screen-writer who would have written his philosophical plays. But under the non-normal conditions of totalitarian " normalization" (time after Russian occupation 1969-1989) his philosophy of humanity must have become political and he must have become a politician, no matter how he tried to distant from this standpoint by calling it "unpolitical politics". The documentary reflects more than 10 years of the backstage of his presidency, where he is showed more as an ordinary man then as a president. He wasn't afraid to show uncertainty, pain, helplessness and he made no secret of the fact that his presidency had been really tiring for him. On the other hand, the documentary isn't just about the human background of one president, it reflects Central European political situation in 90's. And last but not least, the document is based on humor and optimistic unworldliness. I love scenes where Ex US president Bill Clinton played the saxophone (he got as a present from Havel) in a Jazz club as well as the scene where Havel tried to rescue the legendary Café Slavia etc.I could go on, but let's see yourselves.
The Dictator (2012)
I had to leave the cinema
I love comedies, I love political satire, but this movie was neither comedy nor political satire. It contented of a very primitive and predictable would-be jokes, which made me feel embarrassed. It is absolutely not a bad idea to based the comic on US-Middle East relationships, but the "masturbation" joke had nothing to do with it. However the movie tried to reflect the cultures stereotypes,it didn't work really well in the way of extreme vulgarization. The way of humor there was very rude and simple, unoriginal and jokes resemble each other, therefore the movie started to be boring after several minutes. It was totally time and money wasting experience.
