Bombam (2019)
An extremely slow and unconvincing romance
I wanted to like it, and trust me I tried. Most people here are comparing the series with 'Something in the Rain'. For me it's the same. I liked both in the initial episodes and then dropped it midway. Like I said I wanted to like it so I pushed myself beyond the point I actually wanted to drop it (ep 6), still I ended up dropping it anyway somewhere around ep 10. The one single conflict kept on dragging for way too long. The 'pushing away' and then 'clinging onto' is justified once but not multiple times. I couldn't understand why the male lead continuously calls the female lead 'too good for him'. The audience is just "told" by someone that 'X' has so and so quality, nothing to vouch for that. Why should I believe them? The connection between the leads and the one between female lead and the kid all felt forced. Like I said, unconvincing romance. And just like SITR, the direction and cinematography was good. I would've loved it if it were a movie or a 3-6 episode mini series. Because the 'waiting time' for the story to move forward is so much that it gets frustrating. As if the same thing was being told in every episode but in different ways.

No No No No No No NO
In a 12 episode series, at the end of the 10th episode a surprise twist was introduced that voided everything that happened in the first ten episodes. Then why did I watch those ten episodes? It made no sense. It felt as if an entirely different story was written and somewhere in the middle the creators thought "You know what would be a great twist...". The actual story begins at Ep. 11. It would have been a hit for me if they had created a movie or a 3-5 episode show 'cause they only had the material for 2 episodes. I still tried to put myself in their shoes and understand the links before and after the twist but there were barely any. Those links could have been easily summed up into 1-2 eps.
There is a difference between fooling the audience for dramatic surprises and thinking of audiences as fools. It's like letting the audience think that 'Finding Nemo' is a children's movie but in the last 5 mins revealing that Nemo is a psychopath who intentionally let the shark eat his siblings and damaged his own fin to look like a victim and murdered everyone in the aquarium, leaving Marlin (Nemo's dad) lost somewhere deep in the ocean 'cause his purpose is now nullified. That's a hard NO. Those are two different stories.
I changed my rating from 4 to 5 only because the backstory was good. All kinds of questions were flying in my mind after watching this, 'Why, How...'. The only thing I didn't question was the acting. I'd rather watch a cliched k-drama where the creators know what they are doing than a bizarre experiment.
But since it is critically acclaimed, there's probably something that I missed - And that's how you negate everything you said - just like the series. My advise: Watch only the last two episodes.

Missed Opportunity
The characters were great initially. They had good backstories that brought them to their current circumstances. However, that was it. Should they have built a proper story around these characters, it would have been more promising. Instead it was simply about how TV Dramas are created or rather how "this" TV Drama was created. By the end I was only interested in the story of Lee Eun Jung. Moreover, all I could see was brand endorsements in the drama. And after watching this, sadly I see it in every Kdrama I watch. For me it was a hit and miss. It had the potential to deliver much better than it actually did.

Heartfelt, soulful, relatable and beautiful.
Depicts the courage and beauty to chase one's dreams. The characters bravely survive through the challenge to make a choice to follow a path, the challenges faced while following that path and the challenges that others put them through. A mellow love story with good music and OST. Somewhat inspiring.

Good but slow.
This drama started off good, however it was very slow. I started losing interest and eventually dropped it midway. The direction, cinematography and the soundtrack was really good but wasn't enough to keep me hooked. It would have been great if it was made into a movie than a series or perhaps a smaller series of 3-6 episodes.

Overrated
I usually don't leave reviews, however this one was demanding one from me. Uncontrollably Fond kept on showing up in my recommendations and I finally watched it.
I have watched too many K-dramas to claim that this drama does not justify the title itself. The initial concept of the main lead was good and had the potential of a good story line but sadly they could not deliver. There was no proper build-up for the lead couple, just random bits and pieces forcefully brought together to create a not so convincing love story.
The female lead's character is super annoying and personally I felt no sympathy towards her character. Her friend showed more promise as an elder sister towards her brother than she did. After a few episodes, I was not at all interested in knowing how the story unfolds for the main couple. The only thing that kept me going was the story of every other character than the leads. The male lead was unnecessarily aggressive and his mother was unnecessarily stubborn towards him.
For me, only some of the OST was good.
