The Women of Charmed (2000)
Awful, Awful, on second thought absurd
my wife is a fanatic as regards this show. That being the case I bought her seasons one through three and season four is on order. I personally think the show is one big farce the cast is equally bad. Alyssa Milano should have stuck to the other trash movies she made such as Poison Ivy, Embrace of the Vampire to name a few, the other female supporting cast members are equally inept in their portrayals. I've seen better special effects in the old Republic Pictures serials I saw as a child. I can understand why the male leads remained on the show for such short periods of time even though I don't know if it was their own choosing or not. Please. please don't renew for another season as enough is enough, Bob
Manhunt of Mystery Island (1945)
good vs evil as good pursues a greedy partner of an island.
Being raised in the golden era of movie serials, this in my opinion ranks as the top of them all, the setting is on an island where there are four partners that are co-owners. One of the partners is is seeking to destroy anything or anyone who is standing in the way of his accomplishing his mission. Linda Sterling the queen of the movie serials puts on another splendid performance as a the daughter of the scientist who spurns every attempt of Captain Mephisto requesting his cooperation. I would be remiss if I omitted The king of of serials Roy Barcroft who once again excels as the prime villain. serials. I would be remiss if I omitted the chief henchman of the villainous Captain Mephisto so aptly portrayed by Kenne Duncan. . Whenever I become a little bored, I can always play one of the many tapes I possess and it will always pick up my spirits.,especially the serials
The Best Years of Our Lives (1946)
without a doubt, a fine picture., fine acting performances.
Personally, my favorite of all time. the screenplay was exceptional. I think the performances were real as life, when taking into consideration what the our country had gone through at that time in our history. What more can I say about the performances exhibited by all involved in a truly memorable motion experience. Teresa Wright, Cathy Cathy O'Donnell Myrna Loy, Virginia Mayo, were at the top of their game with their performances. On the opposite male side, you had the usual excellent portrayals by Fredrick March, Dana Andrews, of the characters they were portraying. Harold Russell displayed a real gutsy performance as a lesson of the misfortunes of combat during war time in defense of our great country. In my opinion an all time classic in motion picture history.
