Perry Mason: The Case of the All-Star Assassin (1989)
Only one question
For me, all Perry Mason episodes follow exactly the same pattern; presentation of the murder, the wrong person arrested, some red herrings, and the final voilà the solution with the clues and reasoning that Mason must have been tying up together the previous night after nobody knowing when he got the sources. Always, the conjuring trick. My question here is: why did the scriptwriters or the producers take off the Amy Hastings character, Ken Malansky's fiancée??? It was the only pair of people that imbued some life into any of Mason's stories. And the only who were not wooden-like when together.
Poirot: Death in the Clouds (1992)
A bit far-fetched
As an another reviewer said, Cathryn Harrison was tremendous as the glamorous and spoilt lady Horbury. So far so good. My question is: would such a character allow her maid to mingle among high society??????
The Duchess in Hull (2008)
Who cares what Ferguson does or does not?
My review is actually a question? Who on earth could be interested in watching such a stupidity, and a condescending and patronizing one for all it takes? If producers want to waste and lose their money (Sarah Ferguson is anything but cheap requesting fees) it's their funeral, after all. Well deserved, by the way, as people who deliberately exploit very underprivileged people's culture or possibilities in life by telling them what a mega-privileged person preaches can lose their shirt for all that matters. What is unforgivable is that Ms Ferguson and her family have those exclusive lives off UK taxpayers, just like those she went to lecture.
La vieille dame indigne (1965)
For keeps
This is a film I saw in 1968, being a young adult and have never forgotten. It's a shame it is not possible to find it on DVD anywhere, and I have checked shops in France, England and the USA. I'd love to have it for keeps. Possibly it is not or would not be everybody's cup of tea but it is a lesson of life with a wonderful performance by the great Sylvie. There are many European films, be them French, Spanish, Italian, German, et al, that are great works of art and of thought that are not marketed even in their own countries. One wonders why. Let's hope one day it will easier to find them, to enjoy them again and to be able to teach their quality to younger people.
