Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (2024)

Well crafted story, better than many current mediocre flicks

Firstlt first half cinematography was on point. Took me in middle of the nature and i really felt good in the cinema hall.

Secondly, story is well crafted, character development is good, not too loud also like the lead becomes some great warrior by the end but he becomes smart and mindful by the end and is able to take cafe of its people.

This series never disappoints. Main usp of this series is its intense scenes. It never becomes a cheap affair,always has got right weight in the scenes whixh every cinema lover likes.

Overall please go watch it and appreciate the good work done here. And yes i felt maybe we need such apocalypse for making the earth so green again.

Laapataa Ladies (2023)

A good movie with a message

Movie has showcased the importance of education and financial freedom in women. It did so in comedic situation of missing bride but it was well played.

Characters were nicely portrayed. All actors did justice to their part. 2 main female lead were terrific in their own roles. Setup looked authentic.

Most iconic of all roles was of Maai. She showed the true power of being a human(male or female) that u dont need other people to survive. Importance of skill building is very well depicted.

Manoj tiwari and constable were also good. Seeing such stories, city people like us may think how life is still much bavkward in villages. I hope it is not same today, hope government bring positive changes to north indian rural places.

Road House (2024)

Cool fun

Its a cool flick, with good comedy filled in between. Movie was maybe little too light , villains were dangerous but funny too.

Sometimes you want light films with good entertainment and this one fits the bill.

Jake was great, and lets not talk baout his 6 pack abs. Main female lead was very very cute. Want to see more and more of her now.

I think there was one guy who was really serious and he maybe a real wrestler. He playdd his role very well. Vibe was good in qst half. Some how movie lacked in few areas in 2nd half. Otherwise this coudve been even better.

I wont satly it is one the best but it is good for some light entertainment.

Dune: Part Two (2024)

Disappointed

Saw it yesterday. Not better than part 1. Part 1 gave enough time to establish all characters. Here few important thing or eventa are rushed. Also, Bgm is not great like part 1. Last 30 mintues were very rushed. Overall, a good movie but not better than part 1.

Zendaya ,Timothee ,Florence, Rebecca, Austin, Walken,Bardem, Brolin all were good in their parts.

Part 1 talked more with facial expressions, eyes of characters alongside backgroubd music. This one has his great scenes too, but 2nd half somehow lacks that perfection, for me.

Cgi was also good. But that oscar worthy bgm was seriosly missing for me😪

Merry Christmas (2024)

Raghavan returns with brilliance

Firstly it is a suspense thriller. And a good one. Raghavan gives us a slow burn which gets really intense by the end.

But there are no scenes with loud bgm and slow edit, this is old school film, atleast as what i understand of films. Movie is mainly based on story, acting and crisp editing.

Acting of vijay sethupati and Katrina kaif is top notch. It is actually the emotional connect which makes the viewers more engrossed in the film. Innocence of Kat and the Neo noir Sethupati, it was a good mix.

Story is a little drag in the first half. But becomes super interesting the 2nd half. And the last 10 minutes are really good. It makes sitting in 1st half worth while.

Sethupati talked with his eyes in many scenes and i like him for that. Kat was also good in her role. Actually it is maybe her 2nd best acting after zero.

Overall, please watch it in cinema halls, such movies need audience support.

Animal (I) (2023)

Absolute wild animal

Man. Ranbeer kapoor, and his pind brothers, what a lit and elite squad. Absolutely run havon in the city.

Vanga simply says it bluntly on everyones face, i will dare to do what i want and show what i want and he has done that.

Vangas vision is completely fulfilled by ranbeer and all other actors. Movie becomes little boring in 2nd half. But the finale is good. It is about the real man to man fight.

Am still in awe of ranbeers role. This is his best acting till date. Kudos to all. Rashmika did grt in her part as well as anil kapoor. Bobby has also done good. This is a must watch theater exprnc.

Killers of the Flower Moon (2023)

Its Cinema

Watched it yesterday. Scorcese is still giving us the cinema we all need. The long scenes with light yet little intense conversations. De caprio and Lilly gladstone and ofcourse Sir De niro, all make this movie a must watch. Read about the movie that most of the dresses were made by indian community only and the languages etc. Were also properly taught by them to the crew. Thats great. I just hope some current directors also go on to become great like Scorcese and peoduce such work which is based on reality.

Felt sad for the indian community. And hence it should be seen more and more by everyone so that the reality of the horrors faced by a community in United states of america can be understood.

Kohrra (2023– )

Darkness take my hand

Series is based on punjab, and everyone does very good acting and u will feel transported to the land of golden temple. But here people are same as everywhere else, fighting for property, doing illegal acts, trying to kill each other etc.

But i feel director has done a good job here, he doesnt leave us on some light ending, he shows that life gets tougher by each day and we need to deal with it the same way, we need to make tough decisions.

Crime is at rhe forefront but the personal lives of the characters takes rhe drivinf seat after first 2 episodes and here i liked the series even more.

I can say 7.9 is low rating for this, it deserves more appreciation. Please do watch.

Satyaprem Ki Katha (2023)

Amidst comedy, movie handles a serious issue beautifully

I was expecting a comedy here but with that , it turned out to be even better by handling a serious issue.

Acting wise, all have done a very good job, kiara kartik , fathers mothers everyone played their role well.

Story is good, it is more on the entertainment side in 1st half but in second half, it gets mature. Though last few minutes were little stretched, but the issue shown, characters needed more time to accept and act on it, hence running time is justified.

Songs were ok ,but not very catchy, this movie couldve been blockbuster if even 2 songs had become hitm Overall, a very nice movie, happy bollywood made another good movie after 'Zara hatke zara bachke'

Gehrayee (1980)

Raw horror thriller

No special effects, no normal horror techniques used, but still this one makes its impact very effectively. Good acting from Padmini kolhapuri.

Scenes when girl gets possesed are tood good. The voice used when girl has possesion , makes very good impact. Still in awe how good ir was.

In the end, movie goes beyond expectation which gives us lesson to stay away from a problem , maybe just resolve it but dont go too deep.

Amrish puri has a cameo and does what he does best, scare the audience.

Somehow the final tantrik which resolves the issue has a different aura about him, he looks like a positive soul, completely opposite of the aura of Amrish puri.

Overall i can say it is one of the best hororo thriller of bollywood.

Chhal (2002)

Surprise surprise

I kept thinking this movie will go down from next twist or turn but it didnt. It went till the end with good execution, important scenes got enough screen time, actors did good job, making it an emotinal ,blood pumped crime drama.

It is a must watch for KK menon fans. Prashant narayan was even better than him here. Sad he didnt het much chances in bollywood.

Story is good and not predictable, acting is top notch, direction is good but camera work is little shaky owing to the time of 2002, guess due to experiement work.

Main actress was also good but didnt see her any other role. This is one of the most underrated movie of bollywood.

Zara Hatke Zara Bachke (2023)

A nice film

Director Laxman Utekar doesnt disappoint. As he did in Luka cuppi and Mimi, he again deliver a solid film.

Now film doesnt land all its jokes perfectly, but the main catch of the movie is the chemistry between Vicky kaushal and Sara ali khan. Their love looks genuine, sweet and we all route for them when they do illegal things to get a home of their own.

Now as for comedy, movie is well balanced between romance, comedy and family drama. This is the thing which makes it a good watch for all family. Not any b grades jokes, just the sweet fights which happen in common north indian families.

Sara has looked beautiful but vicky kaushal has acted even better.

Side actors have done their job in a nice fashion.

Overall movie is atleast a one time watch for sure, in theaters it will be even better.

Also never slows down, is always on point and doesnt bore you at all.

Evil Dead Rise (2023)

Very enyertaining horror thriller

Dont avoid this thinking its gore fest, its not. Its the perfect blend of horror, suspense, creepiness and with right amount of gore on top. Pace of the movie is very good, does't take too much of time to establish main events and then you enter the hell in that deserted society where you cant escape the devil.

Leading horror lady was very nice, her acting plus her makeup or cgi whatever was there...

But main gem of muvi is its story, muvi wont let u rest from the beginning. You will always be thinking what wrong will happen next.

Ending was also satisfying, kinda reminded me of Cujo and Dont breath, where dog is not there but you'll know what the climax holds for you is even more terrifying.

Also as one of the review said , movie is high on creativity and it works very well. Very good entertainer.

IB 71 (2023)

Very tight thriller

Sankalp reddy does it again, after Ghazi, another beaituful and tout thriller.

Jamval is very nice as well as other cast.

Movie will not let you rest as story will move very fast along with suspense and thrill moments. Few action scenes which are well done and are believable.

Villain of mardaani is here in important role and he aces it.

Movie is very good and is a definite must watch. Reddy sir take a bow.

Setting of 1971 is very good , climax has very nice song, bgm also is food.

Kashmir is very beautifully depicted and you would like to wander around the scenery.

I am not sure of the story if it is based on true events but if yes then simply splendid effort.

Cobalt Blue (II) (2022)

Events that lead you to self discovery

This is for niche audience, letme be clear from start. Its about events that lead to self discovery and change of your view about life and world.

In a traditional marathi family, a brother and sister fall in love with a same man who lives in their house as paying guest. Now there are a lot of good moments in it. Director showed his love for movies books in a very nice way.

Acting wise , both the leads played their roles well. They definitely will go far. Pratik babbar coulvde been better , i felt he was little undercooked.

Its a nice movie, about people who different from common crowd, be it careerwise or orientation wise. Do give it a watch and appreciate its team efforts.

Jubilee (2023– )

Masterclass

Have only seen the first 5 episodes till now. Only reason this series is not getting proper hype is because of lack of a big star name. Farzi had shahid hence it got famous, also Vijay was also big star. Here all are good actors but not stars. But all do justice to their roles.

Production design and costumes are very good. But best thing is its story, it is very good. You are always excited for whats gonna happen next.

Lead actors are very beautiful, specially Nilofar and the Khanna boy. Jamshed actor was in Uttaran and he is a heartthrob anyways. Aditi is also as beautiful as any woman can be.

Story is neatly woven around 1947 partition.

I am waiting for next 5 episodes now. It is a must watch, please do see it.

Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway (2023)

Good film with crisp editing

An edge of seat thriller. There is no time wasted here, story moves at very good pace.

I cant validate all facts but i guess it all mostly would be true as per the real case.

We need more such movies honestly.

Cant imagine how such countries can be so inhumane. East or west, India is the best.

Kudos to Rani for her master acting.

I also cant digest how indians are dying to get foreign citizenship.

Kudos to Late Sushama swaraj also😇. She was the iron lady required in such case.

But man o man that Jim sarbh character was real twisted. I like him in every role he does but here , it was quiet different.

Go watch it in theaters and support such a good flick.

Gulzar a master storyteller

Got to know about this film via a youtube channel, but i was lucky it happened.

My main point of attraction was dimple and vinod sir scenes. Dimple as mysterious character and vinod as intriguied researcher made a very nice combo.

I watched in youtube where the songs were not there, i guess i missed the songs which were a big hit , but for me, even without songs, the story and acting and settings were enough to enchant me.

Also i remembered Kareena Amir from Talash movie during the scenes of dimple vinod sir, that mysterious aura was here also. There, anurag kashyap helmed the dialogues ans they were cherry on cake, but here vinod and dimples expressions were enough.

Vikram Vedha (2022)

can someone please bring down that bgm for some time?

Went to this movie with lot of expetations but no, it was a dud with a loud BGM from the beginning. Saifs entry and encounter scene was very very bad, the ease with which saif was walking around killing, it all looked comic. Plus that bgm was real mood killer.

You cant simply connect with the story when there is style over substance, at least in 1st half, story is complete dud.

Also the acting of both saif and hrithik was not any great. Radhika looked good but her role was very very small.

Overall very less time given for audience to create some empathy for the characters on screen as most of the time heavy entry and action scenes are shown.

Only saving grace was the twist in the 2nd half only if you are still watching the movie(as some people left the hall in 2nd half beginning only.) Overall avoid this movie to stay free from headache.

Dahan: Raakan Ka Rahasya (2022– )

A good attempt but could have been lot better

Firstly, good thing about the show is it didnt overdo the zombie stuff, gore scenes were limited and were finely edited. Series was more about a mystholigcal figure and story focuses mostly on its return to village in some form and grows more with the episodes.

Now the complain is the story, series could have been made better if it was only of 6 episode and if it had little less subplots, because after episode 4, more n more subplots came which made the episodes seem little lengthy(around 50 mints each).

Production amd acting was good. Anay looked little younger for his role but his crush was cute and did her part better so did her boyfriend.

Direction amd editing was also good. It is lot better rhan Netflix 'Betaal' and maybe little less intense than 'Ghoul'.

Overall it is a decent one time watch but not something outstanding or extraordinary.

What works is Mehboob alam

Movie was little strange to me when main events start to execute but thereafter when we get mehboob alam on real life, it was full of lively moments. Mehboob alam was really a character which we all want.

Now i can discuss alot about the movie but all that will be spoiler but i saw it yesterday night and when i think about the movie, i get a smile on my face because it was a small cozy limited budget picture which sweetly tickles your heart in a good way.

Kudos to whole team for making this movie and taking us into a whole diffrnt world which for its run time, really was little dream like but it was a good dream.

Better Call Saul: Saul Gone (2022) Season 6, Episode 13

Won my heart

Its been years since i relished this show. But now its over and am sad. But am happy too. Cause its quality went up so far in final 2 seasons. Season 4 was little weak i guess but rest all were superb.

About last episode, everything was great. But the last scene was masterpiece. It wasnt kim wexler, it was us the audience who were going away from saul, but didnt wanted to leave him.

Thanks a ton to the creators for giving such gems.

Darlings (I) (2022)

Hit n miss

Movie is average and that is my honest opinion.

Such movies(dark comedy) need crisp editing to work, because quirkiness is required and to be honest , neither the actors nor the writint created that for most of the time. It worked in few scenes but mostly it was flat for me.

Ending is something which made me give it 5 star otherwise it shudve got even lesser because during rest of the run time, their werrnt many exciting or thrill or comedy moments.

Alia was beautiful as always and did her part well. Shefali vijay and zulfi actor all did their role good.

If you got other movies in watchlist, ill say try those beacuse this one can be missed.

Decent suspense flick

Acting and editing wise ,movie is avrg but story is good, suspense and thrill is good, and consequently it is a good one time watch.

Hvnt seen the south one but this one is ok standalone.

Bollywood should learn dearly from south and make such stories themselves.

NCR Days (2022– )

Pitch perfect

Writing this review just after seeing the 2nd episode but i am quiet sure whole series will be great as its first 2 episodes.

All actors are carefully selected and all are acting so good, cant believe they all are young adults.

Story is progressing in good speed and keeping me interested.

Shots are good, timing between dialogue and scenes is perfect, making the feel very good.

NNR vibe is captured perfectly as i was in NCR engineering college myself, can relate. As for MBA, didt do it but am sure the glimpses shown of the college and classes are good and authentic.

This is a serious and good effort , please go and watch, you will not be disappointed.
