American Crime Story: The Run of His Life (2016)
Hilarious Re-imagining of events
**Spoilers? (Only if you are currently twenty years old, how can this be a spoiler? It would be like trying to not spoil the end of Oliver Stone's JFK, he dies).
I was in 7th or 8th grade when the real life events of this happened. It was wild, and the biggest TV case that anyone had seen since I had been born, a media circus!! Watching him that day was incredible, you didn't know how long it was going to last! It lasted ALL DAY!!
Anyhow, the way this show is set up is to help explain how and why OJ was acquitted of all charges. Marsha was going through a divorce, the racial tensions in LA, OJ was a huge celebrity (I loved the Naked Gun films growing up). The acting is hilarious, Kato is great as a brain dead surfer dude. Travolta looks like a corpse, but I love watching him pretend to act. Schwimmer is actually the best actor in the whole piece, I really believe him when he's on screen.
I cannot believe that they gave those horrible Kardashians screen time, and of course we have not seen the last of them. Sure, their father was huge in the trial, but come on FX!! Those poor excuses for human beings do NOT deserve anymore limelight than they already have soaked up in their irradiated skin cells.
They make the LAPD out to be the worst department in the world, and that's before the trial begins. I laughed when they presented who Mark Furman was on the show, I loved that actor in Rescue Me. I do like how it was illustrated who loved OJ no matter what, and stood by the fact that they think he didn't do and the cops set him up. OK, keep dreaming.
If you were more than an amoeba when this actually occurred, you're gonna love it. Call the friends, binge watch it with party food and beers!! This is going to be hilarious, and better than the SuperBowl
Tell (2012)
Best 30 mins of my life :: Semi Spoiler
I had just finished watching a trash movie about drama and it dragged on and on, so I looked this one up and gave it a shot. NOT DISAPPOINTED! This 30 minute movie was perfect, save for the fact I would've loved to a little more and for the character to get pulled into his psychosis a tiny bit further. I can honestly say that I don't get spooked anymore, but at least 3 times, this movie made my nervous system jump!
A short, succinct film that knows what it wants and gives it to the audience without any of the filler we're all so accustomed to now. I wish more movies were like this, I would watch all of them. It's dark, and not at all revealing about the character's past and if these things might've happened before, not afraid to keep "what he's being up to at all hours of the night" a secret.
Officers were called to the scene, people have survived with more gun shots in them before. Dare I say that this might not be over? I hope so.
All the Boys Love Mandy Lane (2006)
Why doesn't ANYONE get why she does this?
I cannot understand why all these reviewers cannot understand why she had the killing done? In High School and in LIFE, she was a nobody and an orphan, all she had was her best friend, Emmett. Over a summer, she became smoking hot and it didn't really have any meaning to her until she came back to school and all the boys are interested in her. Even at the pool party, she doesn't really feel comfortable with it all, until her best friend gets a guy to kill himself, all in her name. Its at this point that she gets a rush and wondered exactly how many men will die just for her? During the killing of the black kid, Emmett tells him that he's gonna die just like all the others; which means that she's been having boys killed for the past 9 months from the pool party to the farm party. As long as you did something just in her name, she would punish them by having them killed, or she killed them. She didn't kill Garth at the end cause he was just protecting her and the other teens, he never did anything JUST FOR HER. She might like him for awhile, but we'll see.
