Star Trek: Prodigy (2021–2024)

not for adults with common sense
15 January 2024
This is for kids without any kind of maturity or common sense.

For adults this is a reminder why immature kids should never be Starfleet captains, or anywhere near the ship.

The lead character is an annoying entitled self-righteous immature kid who makes all the wrong decisions and messes up in every episode.

The only reason he doesn't lead all of the crew and himself into death is only because the writers did not care about reality and kept him alive.

This is not even a good series for kids IMO. This is just bad example for kids to be looking up to. This level of kid glove treatment to the subject would probably only coddle them into confusion and make them irresponsible with lack of any accountability for their mindless impulsive actions.

what a waste of time
29 April 2023
Ana De Armas, good looking? Hell yes. Acting skills? Not so much.

Chris Evans, need to fire his agent, or improve his script reading skills.

The story is basically B grade.

Plot holes out number the bullet holes left by the leads.

The cameos were funny, but they cant save the movie.

Sitting through the entire was a total cringe fest.

I could have written a script much better than this, and I don't even have any skills.

I do not wanna write anything more about this movie as there is nothing much more to say about this apart from just summarizing that its just bad and a total waste of time.

don't bother

The movie started with a promising premise ..and this is all the movie has, a good idea to start with ..the writer just did not know how to carry the premise forward, and ends with a total failure that the movie is ..the development of the plot is not organic at at all ..then the writers seems to be trying to give attention to some genuine social issues ..but ends up sounding only like a rand from an entitled loser ..and it ends up being a mockery of those genuine social issues.. how the antagonist gets away with whatever he does in the movie is just unbelievable and inorganic.. this is a stretch for a feature film and should have closed it as a short film..

just too annoying
25 June 2022
15 mins into the series I knew exactly what I am in for. Sorry this is not for me. I cannot tolerate and pass stupid and clumsy as humor. This was just too annoying.

crime noir humor
9 February 2022
The movie is brilliantly told and keeps you always on the edge. The story is simple, but its pace sporadic. The shock value is on point, and the humor unapologetic. Well done team, you make me proud.

People who have rated this movie 5 or below are the ones who are holding the art that is film making, back.

more than people, logic die a million times in betaal

Great premise and good production value, but disappointed with how they failed so miserably in executing this. these guys who setup the script must think very little of the audiences' intelligence. you may enjoy this if you can disconnect yourself from intelligence. all the best.

a very good movie

This is a great take on superhero potential going bad. the pace of the movie is on the faster side, but i thoroughly enjoyed it. i actually felt like i am being saved from the sometimes unnecessary drama. the story develops and the movie is over with you left with the feeling of helplessness about the impending doom. i loved it :D a lot of potential to be made into atleast a trilogy if not a whole universe. it is not gore heavy, but does give due respect at few places. horror is mostly psychological than physical. so its more terror than horror :D this is yet another movie which proves that you do no have to spend a budget on CGI to make awesome sci-fi movies.

totally underrated

Man, this is movie is really funny. Great cast and everyone is just great. This is a satire on the Bible and it hits the mark dead center. I just don't understand why this has such a bad rating. Truly deserves a 7+ average.

sabrina is just so annoying
28 October 2018
The mass advert was how this is going to be dark and not kid friendly. Really?!! Blurry camera, doesn't make a series dark. A dark filter for all the places and gloomy ambiance doesn't make the genre dark. This is still kids stuff in my opinion. If kids aren't allowed to watch this, then they are just being coddled by overprotective parents. Kiernan Shipka plays Sabrina who is the most annoying person I have seen in a series in recent times. During the watch I turned it off multiple times just to vent off the frustration that she was causing. I like the premise, the characters and their portrayal, except for Sabrina. May be I'm just too old to watch vexing teens going through puberty, but all the other characters in her school are fine. They are stereotypical but tolerable. I was able to sit through all the feministic vibe about her, but her struggle to choose between being a witch and a mortal is just not convincing. I wasn't able to empathize with her character. When a teenager is asked to choose between having superpowers or being the school's women rights group president, you choose superpowers. There, Sabrina fails once again for me. I like the portrayal of all the other characters, her aunts, the cousin, the high priest, her friends, even the dark lord, except for Kiernan Shipka's Sabrina. Kiernan Shipka should go back to school, this time an acting school.
