People say Scream sucks, yet Scary Movie ruined what made Scream great that people couldn't take Scream seriously after watching it. I tried getting into this film, but honestly, I couldn't. I know someone who praised this film without having seen better horror films (Halloween, Saw). Nostalgia gets in the way of a bad film. This movie looks like a horror parody of horror films written as a horror film.

A female version of Prison Break (Almost)

The drama in this show could be compared to Prison Break (for those who have seen all five seasons). A woman is sent to prison for crimes she committed for her boss. While in prison, she makes friends and enemies within the walls and must do everything possible to survive, and escape. All the lead actresses play their part very well. Give it a chance, and try to stick with it to the end. Shows never build up to their potentional until half way.

Decided to go back to the nostalgia trip of this show. Unlike most shows at its time, this one focused on someone unique; A kid from a broken home is taken in by a wealthy lawyer for troubled kids. Like all shows, it has its highs and lows, but the highs (Seasons 1-3), outweighed the lows (Season 4). Now, the new kids (Seasons 3, and 4) almost ruined the atmosphere of this show with the exception of a few, and I mean very few characters, and episodes. It had everything; The geek(Seth), the new kid (Ryan), the pretty girl(Marissa), the crazy woman (Julie), the concerned mother (Kirsten), the family man (Sandy), the outgoing crazy gf (Summer), the broken man (Jimmy), and the jock type boyfriend (Luke). The one liners are great, and the drama is intense. Give this show a chance, but be warned; Season 3 sinks somewhat low, and Season 4 goes even deeper. However, try to watch it to the end.

So, I was finally able to play catch up by watching the first season of American Horror Story (keep in mind, that I just started the season), and here is one of the biggest things I will point out about this show; Don't let the title scare you away (pun intended), the show itself is more of a mini-drama series than it is of an actual drawn out horror show. Without giving too much away, you don't really have to watch the first season, to understand the second one or the third season, let's make that part clear. The show in a way is twisted, suspenseful, fun, and an entertaining thriller series. Where do I begin? It makes "Criminal Minds" look like water (granted that blood is thicker), as far as the storyline and creep factor goes. The whole cast is great in this show from Lily Rabe to Evan Peters, to the legendary Jessica Lange. If you want something original, twisted, catchy and entertaining, I would suggest American Horror Story. I want to compare this show to the 2005 film "The Exorcism of Emily Rose", the trailers portrayed the film as a horror, similar to the 1973 film "The Exorcist", but many were shocked to find out that "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" was more of a courtroom drama as opposed to a horror film. "American Horror Story" airs Wednesdays at 10 pm on FX. Watched it a second time, and I will say one thing; Don't let the title scare you. If you have seen films like "Joy Ride", "Misery", "The Glass House", "The Others", "The Changeling", or "The Turn of the Screw", then you may or may not enjoy this show. This show relies more on old-fashioned suspense, rather than the blood and guts (it has it, but not to the extent of "Saw" or "Hostal"). I have watched both seasons, and they are both very different (each season is its own story). I barely praise about the cast in any TV show that I have seen, but for this show, I must say the cast is amazing, especially the central characters of each season, that is including Jessica Lange, Frances Conroy, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Sarah Paulson, Zachary Quinto, Dylan McDermott, Taissa Farmiga, Alexandra Breckenridge, and Connie Britton.

However, not long after they move in, they discover that the house hides a terrifying secret that will sooner or later, put their lives in danger. Desperate to make things work, the broken family of three decide to settle in, but later realize that 'misery loves company', and that 'history repeats itself'.
