3 Body Problem (2024)
the dramatization made it a huge failure compared to what it could have been
All the corny cheesy new plots added that don't exist in the books only made things much worse. The hate for Raj because he wanted to stop alien? Excuse me?!!! The acting for Augie is annoying. The book doesn't have a cancer patient either.
There's so much good detail that makes science entertaining without losing its integrity in the book that just got discarded in the show. It's unbearable to watch. The music is awful. This show is soulless and tries to be everything and cater to every kind of audience and in the end it is nothing.
It's pathetic that Netflix paid this much money for this kind of content. I regretted re-subscribing for this. Cancelling immediately!
Foodtastic (2021)
So much cool and powerful creativity
I watched episode 5 and it blew my mind how much these food artists can do with just food : creative story telling, beautiful sculpture, large scale characterization, and final presentation, with the most unlikely or even impossible ingredients to me. It's so fun to see these teams collaborate and express themselves. Who would have thought that gingerbread can be turned into the head of Black Panther(Stacy and team did such an amazing job) ?! And potatoes can be carved into roses? It's crazy to think that all this art happens with the most accessible and safe ingredients people can get in real life - food! This genre of art makes art so much more accessible - you don't have to be sculpture artist that owns a workshop where you can play with concrete slabs... you can create art right in your kitchen, on the weekends, without worrying your cats or kids consuming any poison accidentally leaked from your creative process. I love how this art turns the ordinary into the extraordinary- that itself carries such a strong message!
Ginny & Georgia (2021)
One of the best shows
I see that the rating has dropped so much thanks to Taylor Swift's fans. She has her right to accuse but people do not ignore how good this show is. For those who are accusing this show of not showing a utopia where women should be allowed to do this or that, lets be honest: it is not just because things should be like this, things are like this. This show is unbelievably honest and realistic about many issues women face, and the politics, dynamics and sociologies behind them. Yes women are still judged by who they marry, date and high school girls who are still developing still make lots of mistakes. Women's situations may differ between regions and cultures but it is undeniable that women are still suffering from inequality.
People need to pay attention to the millions of things this show has done right, instead of this one joke that offends their idol. Same to Taylor Swift: you can accuse all you want its your freedom, but you also have to understand this show is honest and yes I have heard that joke in real life. Does it necessarily mean people do not respect Taylor Swift with that joke? It really depends! Do people really have to conduct this cancel culture to this extent and thus deny others' freedom of speech? No!
