The Marvels (2023)
What is with these reviews?
My wife and I found this movie to be absolutely fun! It was so much fun to watch, especially Ms. Marvel, who clearly has a total blast. If you're looking for a hardcore serious marvel movie, yeah this isn't it. But this movie was just extremely enjoyable, I will watch this every few months forever. Definitely one of the few positives of Marvel lately. I don't get the hate to this movie, but you should ignore it.
The villain was interesting, a good follow up to the Guardians of the Galaxy Kree villain. I won't give spoilers on her, but she was interesting too.
If you want to have fun, this is your movie.
Secret Invasion: Home (2023)
I wasn't excited about his finale, but wow...
I am startled at how bad this series ended. None of the episodes were what I hoped for, but honestly this final episode was just mind boggling. I don't understand what happened, but this show never should have been made if they never intended to put any kind of thought into it. I do hope this series was written by AI, it would give the writers guild a lot more power in their strike.
The acting wasn't bad, the story was just consistently nonsensical. If this is the quality we can expect from Disney going forward, I strongly recommend they sell to Apple. I feel like most of us fans will not be sticking around for any more of this nonsense. Try harder please...
Jurassic World Dominion (2022)
Hilarious
This movie was so far gone it was actually hysterical once we got over the "oh they don't know what they're doing with this movie" hump. I haven't giggled this much in a movie in a very long time. What were they thinking? There is so much going on and none of it makes any logical sense. Pair it with random meaningless dinosaurs for the first 40 minutes and it's just a cluster on screen. And that's when it gets really funny. Do not go into this expecting Jurassic Park, more expect a parody complete with terrible CGI for the first hour or so. My wife and I needed the laugh, did not expect it to come from this movie. Thanks, I guess?
Game of Thrones (2011)
Aside from the show itself, THE MUSIC
Can we give Ramin Djawadi a handful of Emmy's and a dozen future jobs in epic movies for his absolutely constantly stunning and beautiful scores for all 8 seasons? The quality in the story of the show has dropped so much in the last two seasons, but the music has only gotten better over 8 seasons. His quality, vision, and matching the epic visual scenes and moments of the show.... it's amazing.
